Israel angered over IAEA vote on nuclear arsenal

Press TV – August 29, 2012

Israel has become infuriated by a fresh initiative of Arab member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which seeks to launch a global campaign to slam Israel’s possession of nuclear stockpile.

The motion tabled by 17 Arab IAEA members has been submitted to a preparatory commission to be put to vote at the Agency’s September meeting which is to be attended by 154 countries, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.

The initiative is widely expected to be ratified, as it enjoys the support of Muslim countries as well as other states critical of Israel’s stance on Palestine, the report said.

Israel’s Ambassador to the IAEA Ehud Azoulay, has censured the initiative, saying the Arab nations have no moral right to point fingers.

Tel Aviv has also repeated its allegations against Iran’s nuclear energy program and claimed that the new motion seeks to distract attention from Iran’s nuclear case at the IAEA.

US President Barack Obama Administration had initially supported the plan but later condemned the initiative Under Israel’s duress, which is the sole possessor of nuclear weapons in the Middle East.

Defending the Arab initiative, Jordan’s Ambassador to IAEA Makram Queisi argued that Israel has been exposing the Middle East “to nuclear risks and threatening peace” by continuing its secretive military nuclear program.

He lashed out at Tel Aviv for thwarting “all initiatives to free the region of the Middle East of weapons of mass destruction, and in particular of nuclear weapons.”

Since Israel began building its Dimona plutonium- and uranium-processing facility in the Negev Desert in 1958, it is believed to have secretly manufactured hundreds of nuclear warheads, becoming the Middle East’s sole possessor of nuclear weapons.

Enjoying Washington’s support, however, Tel Aviv has steadily refused to either declare the nuclear arsenal or join the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

This is while the US, Israel, and some of their allies accuse Tehran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program and have used the false accusation as pretext to impose international and unilateral sanctions against Iran and to call for military attack on the country.

Iran argues that as a signatory to the NPT and a member of the IAEA, it has the right to acquire and develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, while promising a crushing response to any possible attack on its nuclear facilities.

  3. Very interesting that the white house initially supported holding Israel to the same standards on the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Which it has done covertly for more than the last half-century. Hold did it happen in the first instance? A typo perhaps? Are there actually honest and objective people working in the white house to prevent nuclear war, and knowing that Israel is the biggest problem in the Middle East? That is great news, but hard to believe!

It is also taking us back to the 50 years to when President John F. Kennedy got into a serious dispute with Israeli PM David Ben Gurion, over inspections of the Dimona nuclear power plant, which as the world now knows was in fact building nuclear weapons, dispite Israel’s bogus denials to the contrary. That argument lead to the resignation of David Ben Gurion; and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

‘……a global campaign to slam Israel’s possession of nuclear stockpile…..’ Was something lost in translation here? SLAM is the acronym for: Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM); then all the better, for Israel must be disarmed if non-proliferation is take place. Israel threatens to use their nuclear WMD and the greatest threat to world peace, and clearly not a friend of the American people at-large; it has it’s Zionist agents and sycophantic politicians, for sure. But, with the 11th anniversary of 9/11 two-weeks away, I must point to the fact that it was Israel that sent in their Mossad agents and the US Armed Forces that stood-down 100% and has basically kept it’s unpatriotic mouth shut on that psychological warfare attack on the American mind to facilitate their designs to carve out Eretz Israel.:

‘Revisionist Zionists, who evolved into today’s Likud party, sought Eretz Yisrael Ha-Shlema — Greater Israel, or literally, the Whole Land of Israel…… The Bible contains three geographical definitions of the Land of Israel. The first, found in Genesis 15:18-21, seems to define the land that was given to all of the children of Abraham, including Ishmael, Zimran, Jokshan, Midian, etc. It describes a large territory, “from the brook of Egypt to the Euphrates”, comprising all of modern-day Israel, the Palestinian Territories, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq, as well as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E, Oman, Yemen, most of Turkey, and all the land east of the Nile river……’ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Israel

That is what imperialism looks like. It does not matter what some ancient scribes wrote in a book called the Bible over 2,000 years ago. What matters is the world we live in today, and this insanity must stop irregardless of how much it upsets Zionist donors/bribers of US politicians. Those who indulge in self-censorship on this issue, are worse than apathetic, they are complicit in these on-going atrocious wars of aggression, and aiding and abetting the instigation for their continuation and escalation. As such, they are also committing War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity. And that applies specifically to journalist in the news media. At the Nuremberg Tribunal, a newspaper editor was hung for his editorials.

The First Amendment does not protect anyone from prosecution for conspiring to instigate armed robbery, rape, and mass murder. It does protect everyone from be prosecuted for exposing them! Furthermore, those who courageously to speak truth to power, are the peacemakers, or ‘the children of God’: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_5:9 And you shall know them by their deeds’ and since we do, thanks to Aletho and other courageous souls who let their conscience be their guide! Amen.
