Hamas rejects any plan to separate Gaza from West Bank

Palestine Information Center – July 7, 2018

GAZA – The Hamas Movement has reiterated its rejection of any plan to separate the Gaza Strip from the West Bank.

In Twitter remarks on Saturday, member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk said that his Movement rejects the US-backed deal of the century that seeks to separate Gaza from the rest of Palestine.

Abu Marzouk added that his Movement wants a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza with Jerusalem as its capital, and wants a durable Palestinian reconciliation based on political partnership and unity in the face of the occupation.

He also said that Hamas wants to see Israel’s blockade and the Palestinian Authority’s sanctions on Gaza lifted and all the problems which the population suffer from solved.

For about 12 years, the Israeli occupation state have been imposing a tight siege on Gaza, while Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas has slapped, for politically motivated reasons, economic sanctions on Gaza for over a year.

Abbas and his government in Ramallah refuse to respond to all Palestinian factions’ calls for lifting their inhumane sanctions on Gaza.

  1. “Marzouk said that his Movement rejects the US-backed deal of the century that seeks to separate Gaza from the rest of Palestine”.

Why would the USA offer a “deal” which splits Palestine into two countries? Or have I read that wrong?

    • If this is Hamas’ official position (and I’m sure it is), I’m in complete, utter, never-ending agreement with it. There must be territorial integrity (as once was heralded) between the Gaza Strip and West Bank…WTF? Palestine has been so bifurcated, effed with, besieged and terrorized for so long…it continues to be chipped away, betrayed by “brother” Arab regimes, internally riven (by design), supported wholeheartedly only by Shia/non-Arab Iran (and Iraq back in the day)…and plotted against by the USrael satanic alliance for so long that it’s hard to maintain focus on the imperatives of pure justice and the inalienable rights and national aspirations of the Palestinian nation. My decades-long desired, realisticminimally fair outcome: Go back to the dastardly 1947 UN Partition Plan, give the goddammed Zionists their allotted 54 percent–ONLY 54 percent–of historical Palestine, and ask the Palestinians to make do with 46 percent of their historical homeland, with Jerusalem equitably divided along the lines of its reality in November 1947. Then start the process of an expedited international tribunal to adjudicate the myriad-myriad-myriad crimes against humanity committed by political/militant Zionism throughout the 20th and 21st Centuries.

    • Brian, I didn’t intend that my initial comment be a “reply” to you, but that’s what happened.

Re your comment, here is my “reply”: I presume, without a shred of back-up beyond suspicion of the uber-Zionist Jared Kushner’s et al schemes, that Gaza would be relegated to its status of 1949-67: subsumed into Egypt, such as a federated province, and ruled w/iron fist by the despotic Egyptian regime with the equally despotic Zioentity regime always watching over it (drones, etc.) to ensure that Egypt acts as the ultimate Arab quisling. Think of Gamal Abd Al-Nassar, twisting in his grave….
