Jewish settlers attack Palestinian villages in Nablus, Ramallah

RAMALLAH – Settlers attacked Palestinian villagers in Ramallah and Nablus late Sunday and early Monday, locals said.

Witnesses told Ma’an that settlers began hurling stones at Palestinian vehicles traveling near the illegal Halamish settlement, located opposite the village of Deir Nidam.

DataFiles-Cache-TempImgs-2014-1-images_News_2014_05_11_settlers_300_0Dozens of settlers then raided the village, but were confronted by Palestinian villagers, who threw stones and empty bottles.

Israeli forces were present at the scene and opened fire at the villagers, locals said.

On Sunday, settlers from Halamish attempted to raid the nearby Nabi Saleh village but were blocked by locals.

Meanwhile, fierce clashes broke out late Sunday between Palestinians and settlers in the Nablus village of Einabus.

Dozens of settlers from Yizhar raided the village and attempted to attack houses, but were chased away by villagers.

Israeli military vehicles arrived at the scene and fired tear gas canisters at Palestinian residents, lightly injuring several people.

In 2013, there were 399 incidents of settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Nearly all settler attacks go unpunished by Israeli authorities.

  2. After reading this article, I suddenly had a sort of change of location……. mentally that is….
    People who are illegally acting and meanwhile =subduing people who are subject of and to their illegal activities… sounds a bit like the Ukraine!
    Civil war is looming in Israel and the Occupied Territories was the thought that came up!

    I know it sounds strange, and perhaps silly, but when looking at the situation as is, illegal settlers are developing activities that constitute criminal acts, and innocent people are suffering due to those criminal acts, how long will they endure those criminal acts, and stand up to them, and return the “favor”?

    When that would happen the Israel government would be in big, big trouble, as then I think that the Israeli people who oppose the creation and maintaining of settlements will also at least speak out, if not stand aside the innocent people!

    Then we have civil war in Israel, and I ask myself if the Israeli government will be able to stand up to such a civil war situation!

    The right-wingers in the Knesset will demand military actions (that’s all they can ask for, as morally they are bankrupt to the core, ethically they lack all and any respect from and or by anyone), the world community will demand an end to the occupation, and the present Israeli Government will fall.

    Perhaps it is time for a Civil War in the state of Israel and the Occupied Territories…….. West Bank, Gaza, Israel……..

    Is it time?
    To make Israel aware of the power of the People, instead of the rubber bullets, the teargas, the torture of innocent people, the murdering of stone-throwing children, the torturing of prisoners, locking up people without any reason or even an accusation?

    I don’t know, but the longer it takes to make Israeli aware of the intense rotten situation, the longer it takes to create a situation of being able to even think of a format of peace!

    Civil War in Israel?

    • Perhaps Obama and Cameron will spend $500 million to hire, arm and train 100,000 from Shas to create chaos and destruction. Nah.
