Syria demands ‘immediate, unconditional’ pullout of Turkish troops from Idlib
Press TV – October 14, 2017
The Syrian government has strongly denounced an incursion of Turkish military forces into the country’s militant-held northwestern province of Idlib, demanding “immediate and unconditional” withdrawal of Turkish troops from the war-ravaged Arab country.
“The Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the incursion of Turkish military units in[to] … Idlib province, which constitutes … blatant aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and flagrant violation of international law,” an unnamed official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates told Syria’s official news agency, SANA, on Saturday.
“The Syrian Arab Republic demands … immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Turkish troops from the Syrian territory,” the source added.
The source further described Ankara’s military incursion as an act of “aggression” which “the Turkish regime can’t justify in any way.”
He also dismissed Turkey’s attempts to link the move to the implementation of the Astana agreements with Iran and Russia on the creation of de-escalation zones in Syria, terming it a “departure” from the deal.
Late on Thursday, Turkey deployed a convoy of around 30 military vehicles to Idlib province.
The Turkish forces entered Syria near the Bab al-Hawa border crossing, and headed to Shaykh Barakat hilltop, which overlooks lands controlled by foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants as well as Afrin area held by US-backed militiamen from the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).
Idlib and swaths of land in Syria’s northern and northwestern regions are largely controlled by members of Tahrir al-Sham militant group.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said his country’s military operations in Idlib are the follow-up of the Euphrates Shield operation in northern Syria, which Ankara launched in August last year without any authorization from Damascus.
Ankara said back then that the main objectives behind the operation were clearing Turkey’s southern border of the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group and stopping the YPG from gaining more sway there.
Ankara views the YPG as the Syrian branch of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militant group, which has been fighting for an autonomous region inside Turkey since 1984.

Kevork Almassian of Syriana Analysis on YouTube just posted an interview with Lebanese Professor Jamal Wakim, where Mr. Wakim thought the Syrian government was on-board with Turkey’s Idlib military operation. His opinion is that Iran, Russia, Turkey and Syria are all on the same page trying to prevent a U.S./Israel plan for a “Greater Kurdistan” from western Iran to parts of Turkey to the Mediterranean Sea.

He may be right. What better way to ensure more trouble in future, after Israel/America’s plan to destroy Syria failed dismally, than to leave a new, Israeli friendly nation of ‘Greater Kurdistan’, on land devastated by Israel/America’s wars on Iraq, Syria, and areas of Turkey and Iran.
Iran particularly, is highly unlikely to accept this imposition, which looks like a “backdoor way” for Israel to impose it’s “sovereignty” on Iran. Get the ‘body bags’ ready, Israel hasn’t finished draining the USA of soldiers and money, yet.

Hello Brian,
Perhaps it’s (American-Israel plans/actions to annex) are a symptom of plain desperation to grab as much as possible because they are effectively losing in the Middle East-North Africa and world court of public opinion. Add in the One Belt One Road initiative and a dwindling chance of running pipe for Qatar gas, not through to Europe, but at least to the Mediterranean, and one might get a little better grasp of the situation.
It’s money, power and control, as always, which form the foundation of wars of aggression, while innocent people without exception bear the suffering caught in the crossfire. If fortunate enough the truth about the criminal 9/11 and the 16-year criminal deception called the “war on terror” will prevail through wide exposure, preventing catastrophe before the psychopath warmongers can start or dangerously escalate world war.

“LIKE”……..Yeah, 9/11. The silence from the President(s), the Congress and the highest levels of the American government regarding what is CLEARLY a whole bunch of lies about ‘9/11’. The official report is so riddled with deception, and the acceptance of what is just a total load of hogwash, and no one will call for an independent review, ‘wreaks’ of Government/Military/and CIA involvement.
So why is everyone “at the top” in America, lying in unison?…..And, “Who Benefits?”…………Yes, (Mossad and Israel!) Mossad translates into English as “By deception, we will wage war”
