US threatens ‘consequences’ if ICC acts on Israel’s war crimes

Arguing that Palestine doesn’t “qualify as a sovereign state” and that the International Criminal Court lacks jurisdiction over Israel, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has threatened “consequences” for any “illegitimate” probes.
Following his trip to Israel this week, Pompeo issued a brief statement, denouncing the ongoing efforts by the ICC to investigate allegations of war crimes against Palestinians, including the use of live ammunition against protesters, the demolition and shelling of civilian homes and infrastructure, and forcible relocations as part of Israel’s settlement projects in the occupied territories.
“The United States reiterates its longstanding objection to any illegitimate ICC investigations,” wrote Pompeo, blasting the ICC as “a political body, not a judicial institution,” and arguing that is has no “jurisdiction over Israel, which like the United States, is not a party to the Rome Statute that created the Court.”
“We do not believe the Palestinians qualify as a sovereign state, and they therefore are not qualified to obtain full membership, or participate as a state in international organizations, entities, or conferences, including the ICC.”
While Palestine has yet to achieve fully recognized statehood, the quasi-governmental Palestinian Authority was accepted into the ICC in 2015. The US signed the Rome Statute in 2000, but it was never formally ratified by the Senate. Israel, too, was an early signer to the statute, but also never finalized its membership in the organization.
“If the ICC continues down its current course, we will exact consequences.”
Washington repeatedly threatened the ICC with sanctions in the past as the US itself also scrutiny in the investigation of alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Afghan government forces, the Taliban, American troops and intelligence operatives.

Israel authorises electronic tracking of Palestinians

Israel has authorised the use of electronic tracking devices on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, formalising real-time surveillance of civilians who have not been charged, tried or convicted of any crime, according to a new directive issued by the Israeli army.
The order allows Israeli authorities to compel Palestinians placed under administrative movement restrictions to wear or carry electronic monitoring devices and criminalises any attempt to tamper with them. The measure embeds electronic tagging within Israel’s system of military rule over the occupied territory, further expanding the regime of surveillance imposed on the Palestinian civilian population.
Significantly in another example of the Israel’s apartheid rule, defence minister, Israel Katz, has explicitly excluded illegal Jewish settlers in the West Bank from the directive, underscoring the discriminatory nature of the policy and its application along ethnic and national lines. The order was issued following coordination between the Israel Defense Forces, the Israel Security Agency, Israel Police, the Ministry of Justice and the military’s legal authorities responsible for the occupied West Bank.
Human rights observers note that the policy applies to civilians subjected to Israel’s system of administrative control, a framework that routinely denies Palestinians due process and relies on secret evidence. Palestinians placed under such measures often face severe movement restrictions, prolonged surveillance and the constant threat of detention without trial.
The new directive reflects what journalist and filmmaker Antony Loewenstein has described as Israel’s “Palestine Laboratory”, a system in which Palestinians are used as testing grounds for advanced military and surveillance technologies later exported abroad. In his work, Loewenstein argues that Israel exports not only weapons but a comprehensive model for controlling what it labels “difficult populations”, combining military force, mass surveillance and spatial domination.
This model is explored in Al Jazeera’s latest documentary How Israel tests military tech on Palestinians, part of The Palestine Laboratory series. The film documents how Israeli checkpoints function as experimental sites for so-called “frictionless” technologies, including AI-enabled remotely operated weapons that fire stun grenades, tear gas and sponge-tipped bullets. Given that the International Criminal Court has been signed up to by just about EVERY other Real Nation on Earth, and the two glaring examples who HAVEN’T, Israel and the USA, both of whom were invited, are now left out in the cold, amongst the other Nations on Earth.
AND, anything that Mike Pompeo says should be regarded is ridiculous rubbish, such is the stench associated with this revolting human being.
The only reason that the USA and Israel refused to ratify the Statute of Rome, and become members of the International Criminal Court, is because of both countries Military Crimes, committed since World War Two.
And, of course, if anyone had any doubts about Israel “Pulling the USA’s strings” then forget it. The USA GOVERNMENT is Israel’s Bitch, and the American people have NO SAY in how the USA is Governed.

It is not in cabal controlled America’s interest yet to support ending the Zionist ongoing illegal occupation of Israel…Hopefully after the election season ends in America this coming November with a Trump victory….justice for the Palestinians cause may be possible. I don’t know.
I believe in Q….”Israel is last” p.o.v., but don’t BLAME ANYONE for bitterly challenging that p.o.v. in view of Israel’s ongoing atrocities.

So when Humpty and Dumpty, or when Israel and the United States say a people are not a people, that’s what it chooses it to mean. When a sovereign state commits a crime, against a people who aren’t a sovereign people, it’s not a crime.
That’s what Israel chooses it to mean. And that’s what the United States will submit. It’s a matter of which is to be master–that’s all. And to say otherwise is anti-Semitic. Or unpatriotic.
And if others, whether sovereign states or not, say otherwise, we will punish them. We will unleash our dogs of war on them until they either cower or are the target of our military. Or maimed or jailed. Or tortured or starved.
That’s how we will cleanse the land God gave to us. Because we say so and because our religion tells us so.
The question is, Humpty said to Dumpty, which is to be master–that’s all, and if you can’t tell the difference between Tweedledee and Tweedledum, that’s because one has become the master and one the servant. Or the bastard and the serpent.

I read you, Leland. But, amid the considerable interest I found in your post*, I must regret: I cannot agree that, to the millions of Palestinians suffering “real grievances” every day on the ground in real time without any hope of surcease, their torment is less big than any other trauma or issue confronting humanity. Just ask any Palestinian. (I guess I’d accept a reply from you labeling me an “uneducated folk”…and naïve and “micro-focused” at that!)

I was in love briefly a few years back with beautiful Palestine refugee….I did my best not to be involved with her whatsoever because her father ~ whom I love dearly from years of working with him@ the hotel I have been @ for almost 12 years ~ had seemly ‘threaten’ me years ago not to ever get involved with her….so I did my VERY BEST to honor his p.o.v.
Well, try telling that to his daughter? To make the long story short…she eventually went back to her ex~husband, but before that happened….ALL 3 of us were ok with potential possibilities….
My point? One of many things we ALL really, really connected on was KARMA…
I don’t expect anyone to agreed on being a victim here….but it is getting worked out as ‘evil’ as it may seem to us @ times⚡
