The US and the UK are pushing for total war on all fronts

By Timur Fomenko | RT | April 29, 2024

The events of recent weeks have produced a sudden jolt in Western politics. From a lethargy that was starting to creep into US and western discourse over the Ukraine war, Iran’s attack on Israel suddenly seemed to have had the effect of awakening Ronald Reagan from his grave and leading to a surge of neo-conservativism on steroids, on both sides of the Atlantic.

US House Speaker Mike Johnson did a complete 180-degree U-turn and proclaimed himself a “Reagan Republican” passing a series of aid bills for astronomical overseas spending that he had otherwise blocked for months, as he denounced an “axis of evil.” Along with that, a proposed TikTok ban bill came out of nowhere too and was quickly signed into law.

Then the UK decided to devote its largest ever aid package to Ukraine, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak warning of an “axis of authoritarian states” and amplifying ideologically combative rhetoric. At the same time, it was then revealed Biden had sent 300km long range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine despite having pledged not to do so for years, fearing escalation. Finally, EU President Ursula von der Leyen has suddenly dramatically increased economic warfare on China, pushing the European Commission to open probes on scores of Chinese exports. Where exactly did all this come from? … continue

DC Think Tank: Ukraine Aid Package Opens Door to the Nation’s Destruction

By Ekaterina Blinova – Sputnik – 28.04.2024

The new Ukraine package is a recipe for disaster which amounts to both a waste of money and, even more disturbingly, a waste of Ukrainian lives, according to Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft contributor, former CIA analyst George Beebe.

The $61 billion aid package could sustain Kiev’s hopes for a few more months but it cannot help Ukraine evade defeat, argued George Beebe, a former head of Russia analysis at the CIA, in his latest op-ed.

The analyst pointed out that of the roughly $61 billion only $14 billion will be spent on procuring weapons for Ukraine, $8 billion in financial support will be used keep the Ukrainian government afloat.

But the majority of the package will go for replenishing the US depleted military stockpiles, “which will take years to accomplish,” and for funding the US broader operations in the region.

“The package will not bridge the enormous gap between Russia’s artillery, bomb, and missile production and that of Ukraine and its Western supporters, because the West simply lacks the manufacturing capacity to meet Ukraine’s massive needs, and this will be the case for many years to come,” wrote Beebe, adding that the US has a lack of machinists and other skilled employees for new factories. … continue

WaPo Editorial Board follows orders of megalomaniac billionaires: ‘Humans might need to re-engineer the climate’

Tout injecting ‘100,000 tons of sulfur per year into lower stratosphere to block solar rays’

By Marc Morano | Climate Depot | April 28, 2024

… This is Bill Gates funding this as well through Harvard University.

This is retro 1970s. In the 1970s, they believed fossil fuels were creating aerosols blocking the sun, creating man-made global cooling. So they came up with the same kind of geo-engineering solutions back then. They wanted to put black soot on the Arctic to melt it. There was one proposal to use nuclear energy to loosen the Arctic ice caps because they thought they were growing too much. John Holdren (Science Czar) in the Obama Administration supported geo-engineering, if you will, of the climate.

This is radical, risky, unproven, with unknown effects but they are doing it as a sort of lever over us. The Biden Administration is saying ‘We know this is dangerous, we don’t know the effects, but darn it, people aren’t buying electric cars fast enough, or they aren’t embracing the Green New Deal policies, so we have to risk our entire planet with this research.’

It is basically weather modification. China has been doing it for years. Another form of what the government is been doing. ABC News meteorologists (Ginger Zee) talked about the cloud seeding to increase rain, snow or storms, ‘They will — the government will control the weather, and you will be Happy.’ That seems to be the new motto. … Read full article

Bird Flu Outbreaks & the WHO/IHR Pandemic Treaty Push

By Barbara Loe Fisher | The Vaccine Reaction | April 22, 2024

Even as U.S. health agencies and the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) are being heavily criticized for their botched response to the COVID-19 pandemic,1 2 3 WHO officials are ramping up pressure on all nations to sign a WHO pandemic treaty and amendments to the WHO’s International Health Regulations (IHR), which will give them more authority to track, quarantine, force vaccine use and censor free speech during WHO declared pandemics.4 5 The WHO’s Director General has been blaming opposition to the UN agency’s epic power grab on “a torrent of fake news, lies and conspiracy theories.”6continue

The New IHR Changes Are Merely Cosmetic

By David Bell and Thi Thuy Van Dinh | Brownstone Institute | April 28, 2024

For two years, the 196 State Parties to the 2005 International Health Regulations (IHR) – composed of 194 Member States of the World Health Organization (WHO), and Liechtenstein and the Vatican – have been submitting and discussing proposed amendments to update this agreement. Introduced in the 1960s, the IHR are intended to strengthen national capacities and improve coordination among countries in the event of a health emergency. Though a legally binding agreement under international law (i.e. a treaty), most of the provisions have always been voluntary.

The draft of the IHR amendments and an accompanying draft Pandemic Agreement are both still under negotiation a month short of the intended vote at the World Health Assembly (WHA) in late May. Together, they reflect a sea change in international public health over the past two decades. They aim to further centralize control of public health policy within the WHO and base response to disease outbreaks on a heavily commoditized approach, rather than the WHO’s prior emphasis of building resilience to disease through nutrition, sanitation, and strengthened community-based health care.

The Changing Public Health Environment

Public health’s metamorphosis responds to the increasingly directive nature of the WHO’s funding and an increasing participation of the private sector in that funding. Together with a growth of commodity-based public-private partnerships including Gavi (for vaccines) and CEPI (vaccines for pandemics), this has been heavily directed by powerful privately-owned foundations with strong connections to Pharma, who shape the work of these organizations through direct funding and through influence brought directly upon countries.

This became particularly prominent during the response to Covid-19, in which prior WHO guidance was abandoned in favor of more directive and community-wide measures including mass workplace closures and mandated vaccination. The resultant concentration of wealth within private and corporate sponsors of the WHO, and increasing impoverishment and indebtedness of countries and populations, both set a precedent for such approaches and left the world more vulnerable to their imposition. … continue

IMEMC | APRIL 28, 2024

On Saturday, Palestine TV said that a young Palestinian man from Husan village, west of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, suffocated to death after the soldiers locked him in his bakery.

Palestine TV stated that the young man Hazem Nabil Ramadan Da’na, 27, from Doha town, southwest of Bethlehem, died from extreme heat and suffocation in his bakery.

It added that the soldiers first stormed the bakery and forced him to shut it down and leave, however, he later returned to the bakery at night to finish preparing the dough which he had already started when they first invaded his shop.

The soldiers then invaded the bakery again and forced it shut, leaving him inside amidst the intense heat and the lack of oxygen, killing him slowly until he succumbed to the heat and suffocation. … Full article

At least 17,000 children left unaccompanied in Gaza amid Israel’s war: UNRWA

Press TV – April 28, 2024

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has raised the alarm over the deteriorating situation for the Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip, as Israel continues its brutal war against the besieged territory.

In a post on X on Sunday, UNRWA said children face shattered lives in Gaza, adding that at least 17,000 children in the blockaded territory are unaccompanied or separated from their families.

“With [more than] 70 percent of houses damaged or destroyed, most [children] have also lost their homes. Schools have become shelters for survival, not for education. Their future needs protecting,” it said. … Full article

Israel destroyed 70% of northern Gaza water wells: Beit Lahia mayor

By Ahmed Asmar – Anadolu – 27.04.2024

Gaza City, Palestine – The Israeli army has destroyed 70% of water wells in the northern Gaza Strip amid its ongoing onslaught against the enclave.

Beit Lahia Mayor Alaa Al-Attar told Anadolu that the army also destroyed 50% of sewage pumps in northern Gaza.

“The Israeli army destroyed all agricultural crops in the town (Beit Lahia) which is considered the primary food basket for the Strip,” said Al-Attar.

He noted that marketplaces were destroyed by the army in addition to more than 80 kilometers (50 miles) of water and sewage pipelines in the town.

Israel has waged a brutal offensive on Gaza since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group, Hamas, on Oct. 7 which killed less than 1,200 people.

More than 34,000 Palestinians have since been killed, mostly women and children, while vast swathes of Gaza lay in ruins, and 85% of the enclave’s population has been forced into internal displacement amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit calls for sanctions against Israel

Press TV – April 28, 2024

Senior officials from Arab and Muslim countries attending a high-profile summit in Saudi Arabia have called for effective sanctions against the Israeli regime for the war crimes it has committed in Palestine.

The plea was made on Sunday by foreign ministers of Jordan, Egypt and Turkey, as well as officials from Qatar, the Palestinian Authority and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation attending the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh to discuss the war in Gaza.

The Saudi foreign ministry said on its website that the summit had called for measures like halting arms exports to Israel amid the regime’s continued violation of international law and its committing of “war crimes”.

It said the summit, which was chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, said that international legal tools should be activated to hold the Israeli regime accountable for crimes it has committed in recent months in both Gaza and in the West Bank.

The Arab and Muslim officials attending the meeting also said that there is a need to stop terrorism activities by Israeli settlers, adding that there must be clear and firm stances against it.

They also rejected any attempt by the Israeli regime to displace Palestinians from their ancestral lands in Gaza. … Full article

Yemen downs third US MQ-9 Reaper drone since November

The Cradle | April 27, 2024

The spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, announced on 27 April that Sanaa downed another MQ-9 Reaper drone and that its troops successfully targeted the British-owned MV Andromeda Star crude oil tanker.

According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the Yemeni armed forces launched three anti-ship ballistic missiles into the Red Sea, causing minor damage to the Andromeda Star.

One of the missiles landed near a second vessel, the MV Maisha, but it was not damaged, CENTCOM said.

On Saturday, an unnamed US military official confirmed to CBS News that an MQ-9 Reaper drone “crashed” inside Yemen early on Friday and said an investigation is underway.

According to Saree, the $30 million drone was shot down by Yemeni air defenses in Sadaa province.

Yemen has downed three MQ-9 Reaper drones since the start of its operations in support of Palestine last November, costing the US government at least $90 million.

Despite launching an illegal war on the Arab world’s poorest country, the US has failed to deter attacks on the Red Sea and Indian Ocean by Sanaa. … continue

IRGC developing new kamikaze drone armed with smart loitering munitions

Press TV – April 28, 2024

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) is developing a new indigenous kamikaze drone armed with smart loitering munitions, which is expected to significantly increase the combat capabilities of its forces.

The new homegrown achievement, whose name has not yet been revealed, is to be widely used for counter-ambush operations, Iranian media outlets reported on Sunday.

The Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and loitering munition is said to bear similarities to the Russian-built ZALA Lancet kamikaze drone.

A loitering munition, also known as a suicide or kamikaze drone, is equipped with a built-in warhead that is typically designed to loiter around a target area until a target is located, then attack the target by crashing into it.

Loitering munitions enable faster reaction times against hidden targets that emerge for short periods without placing high-value platforms near the target area and also allow more selective targeting as the attack can be changed mid-flight or aborted.

The IRGC Ground Force and the Iranian Defense Ministry have already developed Meraj-521 and Sina loitering munitions.

Iranian military experts and engineers have in recent years made remarkable breakthroughs in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient.

Iranian officials have underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense and deterrence, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has on several occasions called for efforts to boost Iran’s defense capabilities.

Russia Could Build Weapons ‘Tailored to Defeat’ NATO Vehicles After Seizing IFVs From Ukraine

By Svetlana Ekimenko – Sputnik – 28.04.2024

As NATO continues to stock the Kiev regime with billions-worth of sophisticated weapons, Russia’s Armed Forces have seized everything from German Leopard 2 tanks to Marder IFVs and similar armored combat vehicles from the US, France and other donor countries, ready to showcase the trophies in Moscow.

Sophisticated NATO equipment captured from Ukraine could help Russia create new weapons systems “tailored to combat Western vehicles,” Defense TV reported.

As Ukraine’s forces expend their reserves and Western-supplied equipment in futile attacks, the weaponry ultimately ends up in Russia’s possession, lamented the website.
After taking apart and studying the trophies, Russian engineers will be able to find the weaknesses of NATO armored vehicles, it claimed.

“Studying NATO vehicles such as the Marder 1 A3, Bradley M2A2 and Swedish CV 9040 will allow Russian engineers to become familiar with advanced Western military technologies and design principles,” Defense TV stated. “This knowledge could significantly influence Russian military strategy and development. Identifying weaknesses in these weapons’ armor, sensors and electronic systems of these vehicles could lead to the development of countermeasures to enhance survivability of Russian armored vehicles against similar threats.”

By capturing the equipment, Russia “has the opportunity to enhance its future armed vehicle programs with advanced features and design concepts from western IFV,” the report said.

That could “lead to improvements in crew protection, mobility, firepower, and situational awareness in upcoming Russian designs.”

Earlier in April, Russian forces captured their first German-made Marder IFV as a trophy near Avdeyevka. Ukrainian troops had panicked during an unsuccessful counterattack and retreated, abandoning the machine, the Russian Defence Ministry reported. Once the IFV was evacuated from the contact line, Russian engineers began to study it and identify its vulnerabilities.

The capture of the Marder, which was seized in nearly perfect condition with all of its parts intact, would allow “a study of its propulsion system, armour composition, and internal configuration could deepen Russia’s understanding of Western armored vehicle design principles,” warned the US military-linked website. … Full article

Ukraine Fails to Use US Top Notch GLSDB Munitions Due to Russian Electronic Warfare Systems

Sputnik – 28.04.2024

The GLSDB, or Guided Long-Range Surface-to-Surface Delivery Ballistic Bombs, is a joint development of Boeing and Saab, which added a rocket engine to the air bomb and adapted it for launch using multiple rocket launchers.

The Ukrainian Army is unable to effectively use GLSDB precision-guided bombs, which the US transferred to Kiev at the beginning of the year, due to Russian electronic warfare equipment, according to the Polish portal Interia, citing a statement by Under Secretary of Defense of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment William LaPlante.

According to the report, GLSDB bombs can only rely on inertial navigation to calculate the location of the target when the GPS signal is suppressed by electronic warfare. As a result, they miss the target. The reason for the high efficiency of Russian electronic warfare suppressing the GPS signal against GLSDB is the relatively low flight speed of these projectiles when gliding in the air, according to the article.

GLSDBs are special long-range projectiles for US-designed launchers. Developed by the US company Boeing and Sweden’s Saab, it is a high-precision bomb with a rocket motor attached that is fired from ground-based launchers, including the M270 MLRS and HIMARS.

The rocket engine lifts the bomb to a significant altitude and then uses GPS and inertial navigation to guide it to its target. This gives the GLSDB a range of up to 150 kilometers. The fact that these missiles rely on GPS navigation is their vulnerability, as the Russian Armed Forces effectively use electronic warfare to suppress GPS signals.

Ukrainian Troops Strike Church During Palm Sunday Service in Donetsk

Sputnik – 28.04.2024

Ukrainian troops struck a church in the village of Alexandrovka, Donetsk region, during a festive service on Palm Sunday, killing and injuring civilians.

A Sputnik correspondent reported from the scene that one woman was killed in the attack.

According to Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC), during the shelling the church, the war memorial to the Liberating Warriors and an ambulance were damaged.

The head of Donetsk’s city administration, Alexei Kulemzin, said that an ambulance dispatched to the incident could not reach the site immediately due to a Ukrainian drone attack, resulting in injuries to a paramedic.

The church area was hit during a celebratory service. Later, unexploded submunitions were discovered nearby.

According to Vladimir, a local resident, places of worship are deliberately targeted, with the Ukrainian forces regularly shelling them once a month in the Donbass region.

Vladimir noted that many churches were destroyed in Lugansk’s Trudovsky settlement back in 2014. On religious holidays, Ukrainian troops intensify their shelling of temples. … Full article

China calls for ‘international investigation’ into Nord Stream attack

RT | April 27, 2024

China’s deputy envoy to the UN has called for an international probe into the bombing of the Nord Stream gas pipelines, adding that Russia would be involved in such an investigation.

“With the situation standing where it is, one cannot help but suspect a hidden agenda behind the opposition to an international investigation, while lamenting the potential cover-up and loss of quantities of compelling evidence,” China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Geng Shuang, said on Friday, according to the Xinhua news agency.

“We reiterate our call for the early launch of a UN-led international investigation to bring the truth to light for the international community,” Geng continued, adding that Western nations should “actively communicate and cooperate with Russia and jointly investigate the incident.” … continue

‘Everything to Do With Censorship’: Congress Passes Bill to Ban TikTok

Lawmakers said the sale is needed to protect national security, but critics said it’s about giving the government greater access and censorship power.

By Michael Nevradakis, Ph.D. | The Defender | April 25, 2024

… TikTok also has come under fire for its negative influence on children and teenagers, including data collection and other privacy issues.

However, the bill’s language appears to leave room for the U.S. government to do more than just target TikTok and its parent company or address concerns over what content children are exposed to or about their privacy.

Aside from targeting other sites operated by “foreign adversaries,” the bill also gives the government the power to shut down any website “determined by the President to present a significant threat to the national security of the United States.”

Such “threats” are not explicitly defined in the bill.

But critics said lawmakers’ arguments merely mask other intentions underlying the law, including the desire of U.S. intelligence agencies to gain a similar foothold within TikTok as they have attained within U.S.-based social media platforms.

Some critics said they are concerned about the legal precedent a TikTok ban could create. … Read full article

Hamas calls on 18 countries signing hostage release initiative to expose Israel’s crimes

MEMO | April 27, 2024

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas expressed its regret over the statement issued by the White House, signed by 18 countries, calling for the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip.

The movement conveyed on Friday that the statement: “Did not address basic issues for our people who are suffering under the burden of a comprehensive genocidal war and did not stress the need for a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of the occupation army from the Gaza Strip. This is in addition to the ambiguity surrounding other issues.”

Hamas stressed that it is: “Open to any ideas or proposals that take into account the just needs and rights of our people, represented by a complete cessation of the aggression against them, the withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, the unconditional and unrestricted return of the displaced, reconstruction, lifting the siege, and moving forward with reaching a serious prisoner exchange deal through the Palestinian people receiving their full legitimate national rights by self-determination, and establishing their independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

Hamas called on the US administration, the countries that signed the statement and the international community: “To lift the lid on the crime of genocide committed by the Zionist enemy against children and defenceless civilians in the Gaza Strip, and to put pressure to end it, as an urgent priority.”

On Thursday, 18 countries called for an end to the crisis in the Gaza Strip and the establishment of peace and stability in the region.

This came in a joint statement on behalf of the leaders of the US, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Thailand and the UK, published on the White House website.

The statement demanded: “The immediate release of all hostages held by Hamas in Gaza for over 200 days. They include our own citizens. The fate of the hostages and the civilian population in Gaza, who are protected under international law, is of international concern.”

The countries’ leaders who signed the statement emphasised that: “The deal on the table to release the hostages would bring an immediate and prolonged ceasefire in Gaza,” without mentioning the deal’s details.

At least three houses were severely damaged in al-Shujaiya neighborhood as the IOF continued its attacks on Gaza City.

Boston cops clear pro-Palestinian college protest

RT | April 27, 2024

Riot police have arrested more than 100 protesters at Northeastern University in Boston, amid a nationwide crackdown on anti-Israel activism. University authorities claim that the demonstrators were calling for the death of Jews.

Demonstrators set up tents on Northeastern’s campus earlier this week, following the lead of students at New York’s Columbia University and around 40 other educational institutions in the US and Canada.

Officers from the Boston Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, and the university’s own police force surrounded the encampment shortly after dawn on Saturday morning, before moving in and restraining around 100 demonstrators with zip ties, WBZ News reported.

Massachusetts State Police said that 102 people who refused to disperse were arrested and will be charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct. Northeastern University said that anyone who produced a student ID was released and would face disciplinary, but not legal, consequences.

“What began as a student demonstration two days ago, was infiltrated by professional organizers with no affiliation to Northeastern,” the university claimed in a statement. “Last night, the use of virulent antisemitic slurs, including ‘Kill the Jews,’ crossed the line. We cannot tolerate this kind of hate on our campus.”

The Massachusetts chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), however, claimed that anti-Semitic chants were not started by the protesters, but by “pro-Israel counter-supporters” attempting to discredit the pro-Palestinian side. Video footage shared by the DSA on Saturday apparently shows protesters shouting down someone who tried to start a chant of “Kill the Jews.”

Two reporters at the scene “heard someone say the statement, but could not identify who said it,” the Huntington News, a student newspaper, wrote on social media. … Full article

Colombia University panel slams president for suppressing pro-Gaza protests

Al Mayadeen | April 27, 2024

The President of Columbia University faced increased pressure on Friday as a campus oversight committee strongly condemned her administration’s actions in suppressing a pro-Palestine demonstration in the school.

Universities across the United States have witnessed in the past few weeks a historic surge in student protests in support of Palestine and Gaza, calling for ending all agreements with “Israel” and divesting from the occupation entity. Students also demanded an end to US support to “Israel” and involvement in the genocidal war.

Cross-country protests in the US continue to grow as the Israeli genocide in Gaza reaches its 204th day. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Saturday that the number of Palestinians killed in the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Strip since October 7 has now reached 34,388, with 77,437 injured.

After Colombian students established their Gaza Solidarity Encampment on April 17, University President Nemat Minouche Shafik summoned the NYPD to the campus to disperse the demonstrations, resulting in the arrest of over 100 students. But shortly after, outraged by the footage of their fellow students being arrested, a new group of students arrived on campus and set up another encampment in protest. … continue

US lawmakers want to deploy ‘anti-Semitism monitors’ at colleges

Two US congressmen have introduced a bill that would appoint independent “anti-Semitism monitors” to federally funded college campuses across the country. The draft law comes amid a police crackdown on anti-Israel protests at dozens of US universities.

Introduced on Friday by New York Representatives Ritchie Torres, a Democrat, and Mike Lawler, a Republican, the COLUMBIA Act would task the Department of Education with sending a “third-party anti-Semitism monitor” to any college or university receiving federal money.

The inspector would release a quarterly report on “the progress that a college or university has made toward combating antisemitism.” Schools that fail to sufficiently crack down on alleged hatred against Jews would then have their funding stripped. … continue

Swiss university closes institute over pro-Palestine tweets

The Cradle | April 27, 2024

The University of Bern has closed its research institute dedicated to the study of West Asia and the Muslim world following an investigation sparked by tweets from one of the institute’s lecturers in support of Hamas’ 7 October attack on Israel.

The university announced that the Institute for the Study of the Middle East and Muslim Societies (ISNO) in its “current form is closed” and the study of the subject will be “reorganized.” The institute’s co-director, Serena Tolino, who was temporarily relieved of her duties in October, received a formal warning for “poor management” following the investigation.

The investigation was undertaken after an unnamed lecturer in the institute posted several tweets to the social media site X in support of the Hamas-led Palestinian resistance’s Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. During the operation, Palestinian resistance fighters attacked Israeli military bases and settlements to break Israel’s 17-year siege on Gaza and to take Israeli captives to exchange for the thousands of Palestinians held captive in Israeli prisons. … Full article

French Government Agents Likely Killed in Russia’s January Strike on Kharkov – Ex-Intel Officer

Sputnik – 27.04.2024

PARIS – French government agents were likely killed during the Russian armed forces’ strike on a temporary deployment point of foreign mercenaries in the Ukrainian-controlled city of Kharkov on January 16, former French counter-terrorism intelligence officer Nicolas Cinquini told Sputnik.

On January 16, the Russian armed forces destroyed a temporary deployment point of foreign mercenaries in Kharkov, with about 60 foreign soldiers killed in the strike, Russian defense officials said. Following the developments, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the French ambassador to Moscow, saying that “several dozen French” had been among the mercenaries killed in the strike. Paris, for its part, rejected the information as “manipulation.”

“On January 16, 2024, Russia struck an abandoned maternity hospital in Kharkov that had been transformed into a base for foreign military personnel. The press release stated that their [military personnel’s] ‘core’ had been French and that a total of about 60 people had been killed. I have concluded that these personnel were classified as agents of the French government,” Cinquini said.

He explained his belief by the fact that no reports were published after the strike about the deceased French who had gone to the front privately, although such news is usually posted on social media. … continue

Much of Ukraine aid stolen – French party leader

Western assistance to Kiev prolongs the conflict with Russia and enriches corrupt officials, Florian Philippot has said

Congress Panics Over Ukraine as Russian Drones Kill Abrams Battle Tanks – Ex-UK Diplomat

Sputnik – 27.04.2024

WASHINGTON – The rush to fast-track $6 billion in military aid to Ukraine on Friday reflects the panic felt by the Biden administration and in Congress that the Zelensky regime’s forces are collapsing, veteran UK diplomat, former ambassador and political commentator Peter Ford told Sputnik.

Reports that Russia’s unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are now proving successful at targeting and destroying US-supplied Abrams Main Battle Tanks causes a lot of concerns among the Biden administration and Congress, according to Ford.

“The haste to release billions of dollars of funds for Ukraine betrays US alarm at the dire situation facing its client state on the battlefront,” he said on Friday.

On Tuesday, the US Senate passed a $95 billion bill containing approximately $61 billion in Ukraine-related funding, including via a loan. US President Joe Biden signed the bill into law on Wednesday.

The US Department of Defense later unveiled a $1 billion military aid package for Kiev, including cluster munitions and air defense supplies.

In addition, the Pentagon announced on Friday its largest-ever $6 billion military aid package that will include interceptors for Ukraine’s Patriot and NASAMS systems, more counter-drone systems, significant amounts of artillery ammunition, and air-to-ground munitions.

However, the move came amid reports that the Ukrainian armed forces moved Abrams tanks from the frontlines due to threats from Russian drones.

Ford observed that the rush to send so many more advanced weapons systems to Ukraine came hard on the heels of these reports. … Full article

UK blocked Ukraine peace deal – Moscow

The deal, which could have ended the Ukraine conflict weeks after it started, was approved by negotiators in Istanbul, but Kiev later pulled out of the talks.

The German newspaper Welt reported on Friday that Moscow had issued additional demands after a deal had already been outlined, such as making Russian the second official language in Ukraine, implying that this had ended any hopes of an agreement.

Peskov denied those claims on Saturday, citing remarks made by Ukrainian MP David Arakhamia, who led Kiev’s delegation at the talks.

In an interview to domestic media last November, Arakhamia said then-British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had intervened in the peace process and had urged the Ukrainians to “just fight” Russia. … continue

Suicidal Society

By Mattias Desmet | April 25, 2024

I guess you remember how a few years ago, the media called everyone who refused to wear a mask or get vaccinated a ‘grandma killer’. To protect the elderly, to save every minute of their lives – that was all what mattered.

Here is something to think about: Last week, I stumbled upon an article in a Dutch mainstream newspaper which declared in a technical and deliberate way that the ‘mysteriously persisting excess death’ has certain advantages: it saves the state hundreds of millions of costs of taking care for old people. I checked my calendar. An April fools’ joke maybe? No – it was no joke.

One could argue, of course, that this is just one article. What am I making a fuss about? Let me give you another example. A few weeks ago, the director of a government health insurance fund stated in an article published on the website of Belgian national television that euthanasia should be considered as a solution for the rapid ageing of the population. Exactly. Old people cost too much money. Let’s kill them.

These too are the words of only one man. Yet such words are not printed in the newspapers in such a guileless way if there is not a certain tolerance for such messages in society.

Let’s face it: some people want to get rid of the elderly. And these people look suspiciously a lot like those who blamed you for being a heartless criminal when you suggested that the corona measures would do the elderly more harm than good.

Upon closer examination, the sentimental ‘protection of the elderly’ during the corona crisis was rather cruel and absurd. For instance: why were the elderly dying in hospitals not allowed to see their children and grandchildren? Because the virus could kill them while they were dying?

Beneath the surface of the state’s concern about the elderly lurks exactly the opposite: the state wants to get rid of the elderly. Soon there might be a consensus: everyone who wants to live beyond the age of seventy-five is irresponsible and egoistic – a grandson killer. At least these old bastards must pay a carbon tax.

And in the end, not only old people have to die. Humans cause climate change – they are a detrimental virus proliferating on the surface of the earth. The planet would be better off without humans. … continue

CHD asks Supreme Court to hear case alleging FDA misused emergency power to authorize COVID shots for children

By Suzanne Burdick, Ph.D. | The Defender | April 26, 2024

Children’s Health Defense (CHD) attorneys asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear CHD’s case against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for granting emergency use authorization of COVID-19 vaccines for children and babies.

CHD’s lawsuit, filed Jan. 24, 2022, alleges the FDA misused the emergency power to push dangerous biologics on minors.

Robert Barnes, CHD’s attorney of record in the case, filed the petition for a writ of certiorari asking the Supreme Court to review district and appeals courts’ decisions that have prevented the lawsuit from moving forward.

CHD CEO Mary Holland told The Defender:

“CHD’s petition to the U.S. Supreme Court raises a critical question: Who can sue the FDA for malfeasance? So far in this case, the district and appeals courts have said that parents of vulnerable children cannot sue the FDA for its patent misinformation.”

In other words, Barnes said, “When the FDA lies to kids, who can hold them accountable and stop the lies?”

In this situation, the FDA “stooped so low as to use Sesame Street and Elmo to lie to kids about the safety, efficacy and necessity of the COVID-19 vaccines,” Barnes told the Defender.

Someone — or some organization — must be able to hold the FDA accountable, Barnes said. “The FDA is not above the law. That is why CHD is asking the Supreme Court to answer the question.” … continue

US campus crackdown: 500 pro-Palestinian protesters arrested

Press TV – April 26, 2024

US police have arrested more than 500 protesters during a crackdown against pro-Palestinian protesters on university campuses across the country on Thursday.

Anti-riot police used chemical irritants and tasers against protesters, who set up camps in defiance of police warnings from Massachusetts to California, to protest against Israel’s savage war against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Protesters were arrested at schools including the Ohio State University, the University of Minnesota, Indiana University and Princeton University.

At Emory University in Atlanta, police clashed with protesters, including students from other Atlanta universities and area activists and arrested dozens of protesters, including faculty members.

Videos are shared on social media, showing officers using tear gas, tasers and handcuffs to detain protesters.

Emory’s vice president for public safety Cheryl Elliott said in a statement that law enforcement “released chemical irritants into the ground” to disperse the crowd after protesters ignored multiple warnings. … continue

Germany clears pro-Gaza camp as US-style demos spread across Europe

Press TV – April 26, 2024

The German police have cleared a pro-Palestinian camp in Berlin amid a growing number of such protests across Europe that have been following the model of student tent protests throughout the United States’ universities.

Law enforcement confronted protesters that had camped outside the German parliament and chancellery in the capital on Friday.

The Berlin camp, named “Besetzung Gegen Besatzung (Occupy Against Occupation),” began on April 8.

The participants had been calling for an end to the Israeli regime’s ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip and Berlin’s generous arms support for Tel Aviv amid the brutal military onslaught.

More than 34,300 Palestinians have been killed and over 77,200 others wounded in the war that the regime began following a retaliatory operation by the Palestinian territory’s resistance movements.

German authorities issued a prohibition order against the camp, alleging that some of the protesters had committed “violations,” including “the use of unconstitutional symbols and forbidden slogans,” Reuters reported. … Full article

US Cluster Munition Coalition Slams US Decision to Transfer New Batch of Munitions to Ukraine

Sputnik – 26.04.2024

The US Cluster Munition Coalition said it was shocked by Washington’s decision to transfer its cluster munitions to Ukraine for the fifth time, citing the long-term humanitarian consequences such weapons could have.

“The US Cluster Munition Coalition (USCMC) is appalled by President Biden’s decision to again transfer internationally prohibited cluster munitions to Ukraine … The US Cluster Munition Coalition condemns this transfer decision due to the devastating and long-term humanitarian consequences of cluster munitions,” the coalition said in a statement released on Thursday.

The coalition added that it was “dismayed by the need to condemn such an action for the fifth time.” It also urged Biden to immediately stop the transfer of such weapons. … Full article

US & UK Reduced Naval Presence in Red Sea – Houthi Leader

Sputnik – 26.04.2024

The United States and the United Kingdom have scaled down their naval presence in the Red Sea despite lack of abatement in the intensity of attacks carried out by Yemen’s Houthis rebels on Israeli-linked ships, the rebel movement’s leader, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, said on Thursday.

“Our operations have not decreased, as the Americans claim, presenting this as their achievement, but rather the movement of their warships has decreased. There has been an 80% reduction in the movement of US Navy ships, not our operations,” al-Houthi was quoted by Iranian broadcaster Almasirah as saying on the occasion of 200 days of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. … continue

A statistic 1,000 times too small doesn’t warrant a correction in the NY Times

BY ALISON WEIR | ISRAEL – PALESTINE NEWS | APRIL 25, 2024

… The Times has failed to run a correction about an extremely erroneous statement that you published in Sunday’s New York Times.

A front page article stated that there have been “scores of civilian casualties” in Gaza. (A “score” is 20. “Casualties” means people killed or injured.)

In reality, there have been tens of thousands of such casualties: Israeli forces have killed over 33,000 Palestinians and injured over 76,000 people, over half of them women and children. … Full article

UK APPROVED ARMS FOR ISRAEL DAYS AFTER IT KILLED BRITISH AID WORKERS

BY JOHN MCEVOY | DECLASSIFIED UK | APRIL 23, 2024

On 1 April, Israeli forces launched a series of airstrikes on a convoy of aid workers in Gaza, killing three Britons, a Polish national, a Palestinian, an American-Canadian dual citizen, and an Australian.

The Israeli Air Force carried out the bombing with a Hermes 450 drone. According to Campaign Against the Arms Trade, this drone may be powered by a R902(W) Wankel engine produced in Britain by UAV Engines Limited (UEL).

New court documents show that the UK government decided to continue arms exports to Israel on 8 April, one week after the strike on the aid workers who were employed by the charity World Central Kitchen (WCK).

The revelation will put additional pressure on the Foreign Office to justify its decision not to suspend arms sales to Israel. … continue

Biden regime decides against sanctioning Israeli battalion despite ‘gross human rights violations’

MEMO | April 26, 2024

The US has reversed its decision to impose sanctions on the extremist Israel Defence Forces’ Netzah Yehuda battalion, despite determining that soldiers in the brigade had committed “gross human rights violations” against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank, ABC News reported. This marks the second time the administration of President Joe Biden has failed to push ahead with sanctioning Israelis for gross human rights violations since 7 October.

The Netzah Yehuda battalion, created for religious fundamentalists in Israel, has attracted many religious extremists and Zionist settler groups since its founding in 1999. The decision not to sanction the battalion was outlined in an undated letter from Secretary of State Antony Blinken to House Speaker Mike Johnson, which ABC News obtained. […]

Earlier this month, the Biden administration failed to impose sanctions on extremist settlers after announcing in March that it would seek to punish individuals linked to settler violence.  A month later the White House informed the Israeli Finance Ministry that banks in Israel do not need to freeze the accounts of settlers who have been placed under sanctions by Washington. … Full article

Daughter of martyr Al-Areer martyred along with husband, newborn baby in Israeli airstrike

Palestinian Information Center – April 26, 2024

GAZA – The daughter of martyr Refaat Al-Areer, Shaima, was martyred on Friday along with her husband, engineer Muhammad Siam, and their newborn baby in an Israeli airstrike that targeted their apartment near Al-Rimal Clinic in Gaza City.

Media sources said Israeli aircraft launched several attacks this morning targeting the headquarters of the International Red Cross, which houses displaced people, and a residential apartment near Al-Rimal Clinic, resulting in a number of martyrs and wounded.

The sources revealed that among the martyrs was Shaima, the eldest daughter of martyr Dr. Refaat Al-Areer, who was previously assassinated last December in a deliberate Israeli airstrike targeting his sister’s home in Gaza City.

Dr. Refaat Al-Areer was one of the pillars of the English Section at the PIC, and the supervisor of its Social Media Department. He was martyred along with his brother, sister, and her four children.

The martyr Al-Areer also worked as Professor of English Language at the Islamic University which was destroyed in the Israeli aggression. A number of its staff along with its President were martyred as well.

Al-Areer was one of the courageous voices who spoke and wrote in English about the Palestinian cause and refuted the Israeli narrative. He is the author of the book “Gaza Writes Back”.

He was also hosted in distinguished interviews with various Western media outlets.

Ben Gvir Wants Israeli Police to Create ‘Local Response Teams’ to Protect Jews Outside of Israel

By Connor Freeman | The Libertarian Institute | April 25, 2024

Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, an extremist settler and Jewish supremacist, has called on the police commissioner to create “local response teams” globally to protect Jewish communities overseas. This comes amid a wave of antiwar protests on college campuses throughout the US denouncing Washington’s backing for Tel Aviv’s slaughter against the Palestinians in Gaza, and calling for their universities to divest from companies connected with the Israeli war machine. The rallies are largely led and organized by anti-Zionist Jews.

“Diaspora Jews are currently suffering from a harsh wave of antisemitism in communities and on campuses in the US, Europe, and around the world,” Ben Gvir said on Wednesday, according to a report by the Israeli media network Arutz Sheva.

He continued, “I asked the police commissioner to draft a plan to aid in the creation of local response teams that will protect Jewish communities and institutions overseas, through professional tutelage, including a training program and technological solutions for security.” It’s not clear what these security teams would look like, but Ben Gvir clarified that these activities would be carried out “in cooperation with the local police and relevant authorities.”

Training programs and tactic exchanges between Israel’s notorious occupation forces and American police, spies, and federal agents has already been ongoing for decades, focusing on deploying authoritarian “violence and control including mass surveillance, racial profiling and the suppression of protests and dissent.” … Full article

Columbia University withdraws deadline for dispersing pro-Palestine protests

Al Mayadeen | April 26, 2024

Late on April 25, Columbia University went back on an overnight deadline set for pro-Palestine protesters to leave their encampment, amid more college campuses in the United States attempting to stop such protests from taking place.

US police made large-scale arrests in universities all over the country, and even used chemical irritants and tasers to stop the protesters who are expressing solidarity for Palestine.

Columbia University is still the center of the student protest movement as it is where these protests began.

In a statement released at 11:07 pm (03:07 GMT today), the office of Columbia University President Minouche Shafik went back on the midnight deadline to disperse a large tent camp with around 200 students.

The statement said, “The talks have shown progress and are continuing as planned,” adding, “We have our demands; they have theirs.”

“This rumor is false,” it said in an attempt to deny that New York City police were called to the campus.

Speaking with AFP, one of the students, identifying as Mimi, said that she had been at the camp for seven days, emphasizing, “They call us terrorists, they call us violent. But… they’re the ones that called in the police when students were sitting in a circle.”

“The police are the ones with guns, the police are the ones with tasers, we only have our voices,” she stressed.

On April 24 and early 25, the police arrested more than 200 protesters at universities in Los Angeles, Boston, and Austin, Texas.

However, around 2,000 protesters gathered again on April 25.

At Emory University in Atlanta, in the southern state of Georgia, chemical irritants and tasers were used by riot officers to dismantle the protesters. Police were seen in photographs wielding tasers. The Atlanta Police Department claimed that officers, called in by the school, were “met with violence” and used “chemical irritants” in their response.

Police arrested 93 protesters, which authorities claimed were trespassing on April 24 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. The university also canceled events at its graduation ceremony on May 10.

As reported by local media, police also arrested 108 protesters as they dismantled an encampment at Emerson College in Boston on April 25. … Full article

University students in US capital form joint pro-Palestinian encampment

MEMO | April 25, 2024

Antiwar students from across the US capital are banding together, Thursday, to form a pro-Palestinian encampment less than 1 mile (kilometre) from the White House to demand their schools condemn Israel’s onslaught against the Gaza Strip and divest from Israeli businesses, Anadolu Agency reports.

The encampment has seen students from Georgetown University and George Washington University form a sit-in on the latter’s University yard, which is just over three blocks from the White House.

Hundreds of students walked out of classes at Georgetown early Thursday. A smaller group consisting of dozens of individuals then marched from the Catholic University to the encampment site.

One pro-Israel counter-protester was removed from the area by police. Three officers led the demonstrator away as he held a small Israeli flag between his hands.

It is unclear if students from four other major universities in Washington, DC – Howard University, American University, Gallaudet University and the University of the District of Columbia — have joined the demonstration. There are also several schools located along the border in Maryland and Virginia.

At least one other encampment was formed Wednesday at the University of Maryland – College Park. … Full article

French police called in to break up US-style pro-Palestinian student demo

Press TV – April 26, 2024

Authorities at a prestigious Paris university have called in the police to end pro-Palestinian students’ occupation of part of the campus, a protest method that is under way at dozens of American universities.

The law enforcement confronted the protesters, who numbered around 60, and had occupied the Sciences Po university’s Saint Thomas campus in the French capital’s Saint Germain des Pres neighborhood on Wednesday.

The protesters demanded that the university “cut its ties with universities and companies that are complicit in the [ongoing Israeli] genocide in Gaza” and “end the repression of pro-Palestinian voices on campus.”

Undaunted by the authorities, as many as 150 students gathered again on Thursday.

“The director has crossed a red line by deciding to send in the police,” said Ines Fontenelle, a member of the Student Union at Sciences Po.

Union spokeswoman Eleonore Schmitt also said the students would continue to mobilize “despite repression.” … Full article

French Servicemen Promised Big Money for Fighting in Ukraine – Ex-Intel Officer

Sputnik – 26.04.2024

PARIS – French servicemen are being promised a golden parachute for participating in fictitious “resignations” to fight in Ukraine said Nicolas Cinquini, a veteran of France’s counter-terrorism intelligence service, to Sputnik.

Cinquini is currently searching for information about French nationals who fight in the conflict on the side of Kiev. According to his findings, French state agents may have been in Ukraine since the start of the special military operation in February 2022 along with ordinary French civilians who went to fight for the Kiev regime on their own.

“These are agents who remain very secretive and are difficult to identify,” the former intelligence officer noted.

“Sources told us that in the ranks of the French army, specialists were given attractive offers: a false resignation, a guarantee of reinstatement upon completion, and an income significantly higher than their usual earnings,” he said. … continue

Russian defense minister comments on role of Western advisers in Ukraine conflict

RT | April 26, 2024

Foreign military advisers in Ukraine are directly involved in the preparation of attacks on Russian territories, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Friday during a high-level meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries.

Apart from helping to prepare attacks, the West is also continuing to offer Kiev real-time intelligence data and train its military personnel, while foreign specialists and mercenaries are actively taking part in the fighting, he claimed.

“Almost every day, with the tacit consent of the West, Kiev uses the weapons it receives to cause damage to civilian infrastructure of the Russian Federation,” Shoigu said. … Full article

US created Ukraine conflict – Shoigu

RT | April 26, 2024

The Ukraine conflict is Washington’s doing and the US is deliberately trying to prolong the fighting, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Friday during a meeting with his counterparts from Asian nations.

Shoigu is taking part in a gathering of military chiefs from members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a nine-strong mutual defense organization. The Russian minister used the forum hosted by Kazakhstan to reiterate Moscow’s position on the origins of its conflict with Ukraine.

He identified Washington as a major source of global instability, citing its record of military interventions abroad, including in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria. The US also uses less direct financial and diplomatic tools to damage its opponents, including by fueling chaos in different parts of the world, Shoigu alleged.

“The US had first created, and now is deliberately prolonging the Ukraine conflict,” the minister stated. “As it signals purported intention to de-escalate, the West keeps pumping Kiev with weapons.” … continue

NATO responsible for Ukraine crisis – China

RT | April 26, 2024

NATO is directly responsible for the Ukraine conflict, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said during a press briefing on Friday, reacting to criticisms raised by the US-led military bloc.

On Thursday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg accused Beijing of supposedly supporting Russian weapons manufacturing through the export of dual-use components to the country.

“China says it wants good relations with the West. At the same time, Beijing continues to fuel the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War Two. They cannot have it both ways,” the official warned.

Wang rejected the claim, dismissing it as being based on nothing but rumors. China hadn’t started the Ukraine crisis, he insisited, and NATO’s responsibility for it is “unshiftable.” The US-led military bloc “should reflect on its role, stop shifting the blame, and do something practical to promote a political settlement,” he added.

According to Beijing, NATO’s expansion in Europe and refusal to take Russian national security concerns into consideration triggered the hostilities. A roadmap to peace that China proposed in early 2023 called for that core problem to be addressed, he noted. … Full article
