Dubliners boycott Israeli produce

Aletho News | June 12, 2010

Irish activists, in solidarity with Gazans under siege, have begun a campaign to rid supermarkets of Israeli produce. Leafleting of customers was conducted while carts were filled with the offending goods. Organizer Jim Roche made the following comments to the Independent:

“We had a good reaction from shoppers and even from some of the workers in the stores – the campaign is gaining ground, we need to keep the pressure on because what happened with the flotilla was an outrage.

“We’re calling on the Irish Government to impose sanctions on Israel, expel the Israeli ambassador and break off all economic ties with Israel.”

  1. Hurray to the Irish Civil right activist who traveled on the Rachel Carrie humanitarian ship or who assisted in gathering the goods and loaded it. Hurray to the Irish people who for many years refused to be subjugated to the British control. My appreciation to every Irish who refuses to purchase any Israeli products.

From a Palestinian victim of Israeli apartheid. To your health and to a prosperous Ireland; I am raising my glass of Irish whisky to all Irish.

“Wars are never fought for altruistic reasons. They’re usually fought for hegemony, for business. And then of course there’s the business of war.”

  2. I am so proud of the Irish participating in this boycott. The Irish know a thing or two about right versus wrong.

Apartheid is wrong, using brutality to enforce Apartheid is nothing less than pure evil.

While I am very proud of the Irish, Goebbels would be so proud of the Israelis.
