  1. Thank you for that insightful article. Given what I know about how stories take a life of their own after a few centuries and how they’re “interpreted” by the local powers that be,it would not surprise me if there were 12 groups of people that had survived the collapse of Egypt and that they were united by a tale of a common ancestor.

    The story of Joseph likely stems from a revolution and exile with a ruling class that came to its senses after a trying ordeal.
