Iran Falsely Charged with India and Georgia Attacks

By Stephen Lendman | February 15th, 2012

Last October, Iran was falsely charged with a fake terror plot that didn’t pass the smell test. At best, it resembled a bad film script too implausible to believe.

Tehran was bogusly blamed for plotting to kill Saudi Arabia’s US ambassador. According to spurious accusations, an Iranian/American used car salesman and Mexican drug cartel hired assassin were involved.

You can’t make this stuff up, but major media scoundrels headlined it for days. They regurgitated a scheme too implausible to believe.

Official lies substituted for proof. They’re repeated to incite fear and justify retaliatory measures with public support. They include belligerence if ordered.

Unasked always is cui bono. Clearly, Iran’s only harmed by alleged terrorist attacks against America, NATO partners, Israel, or their allies. In contrast, Washington and Tel Aviv benefit greatly. As a result, new charges follow old ones.

On February 13, The New York Times headlined, “Israel Blames Iran for Attacks in India and Georgia,” saying:

On Monday, “(b)ombers targeted Israel embassy workers in” both countries’ capitals. New Delhi witnesses said a motorcyclist attached a bomb to an Israeli diplomat’s car, injuring his wife.”

An alleged Georgia plot was foiled. Conveniently, an Israeli Tbilisi embassy employee spotted a “strange object” in full view attached to its envoy’s car. If something real was planned, it would have been placed underneath out of sight. Even an amateur knows that.

Notorious pro-Israeli flack/Times writer Ethan Bronner headlined, “Israel Says Iran Is Behind Bombs,” saying:

“If actually carried out by Iran (implying they were), the attacks would be another indication that the leadership in Tehran was willing to reach beyond its borders against its enemies and expand its attacks to civilians.”

Bronner repeated the canard about Iran plotting to assassinate the Saudi ambassador, adding:

“….Israel has said that Iran has planned to attack its citizens in various countries, but that those plots were stopped.”

Major media scoundrels are so used to suppressing truth and full disclosure, they wouldn’t recognize it if it jumped up and bit them in the nose.

For years, Israel manufactured bogus threats against its overseas based officials and other citizens. America does the same thing. Duplicitously pointing fingers the wrong way conceals their own crimes. They’re numerous, frequent, and horrific.

In contrast, Iran threatens no other country and hasn’t attacked one in over 200 years. Israeli/Washington terrorist charges are spurious. They’re made to stoke fear and justify ‘retaliatory’ measures.

Iran painstakingly avoids provocations. Despite clear evidence of Mossad’s involvement in killing its nuclear scientists and other destabilizing actions, Tehran refrained from retaliating.

Blaming Iran for the New Delhi and Tbilisi incidents is entirely spurious. Yet major media scoundrels headline it. So did Netanyahu calling Iran and Hezbollah “the world’s greatest exporter(s) of terror.”

“In the last few months, we have witnessed several attempts to target Israeli citizens and Jews in a series of countries, such as Azerbaijan and Thailand. In all of these cases were able to thwart these attacks in cooperation with local forces.”

Of course, doing so suggests Israeli involvement. Conveniently, alleged terror plots were foiled in the nick of time. Be suspicious. Be very suspicious.

At issue, of course, is blaming Iran, Syria, and other Israeli targets. It’s an old stunt used often by Israel and America. Both countries specialize in false flag attacks. They’re also behind alleged foiled terror plots.

Netanyahu added:

“The Israeli government and its security services will continue, with local security, to act against the international terror which Iran produces.”

In fact, Israel and Washington are the world’s leading state terror exponents. Incidents are conveniently blamed on others. It doesn’t wash.

Though evidence so far can’t prove it, Mossad, not Iran, was likely responsible for the latest ones. The tactic chosen replicated one of its favorites. It was classic Israeli state terrorism.

Mossad and Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency) have long, odious terrorist histories.

Blaming victims, lawlessness, violence, crimes of war and against humanity, collective punishment, intimidation, attacking unarmed civilians, and overall brutality are Israeli specialties.

Combined, they define a rogue state, defiant of international law principles. It pursues its own interests ruthlessly and extrajudicially, anywhere in the world.

Israel began honing its skills during the Mandatory Palestine period. At the time, Jewish terrorist groups targeted Jews, Brits and Arabs. Involved were paramilitary Hagana members, Irgun headed by future prime minister Menachem Begin, and Lehi (also called the Stern Gang) led by another future prime minister, Yitzhak Shamir. They were rogue killers before entering politics.

Today the tradition continues under new management. Little wonder Israel’s history is so bloodstained. It involves individual and mass killings. Alleged Arab terrorists are blamed. Current favorites include Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, and other Palestinian resistance groups.

Mossad specializes in various type car bombs. Assassinating former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri was classic Israeli state terror.

On February 14, 2005, compelling visual and audio evidence revealed real time intercepted Israeli aerial surveillance footage of routes Hariri used on the day he was killed. Israel was clearly involved.

Syria initially was blamed. Assad denied responsibility. Hezbollah was later falsely named and indicted. It was typical Mossad targeting though no one at the time knew for sure. The powerful car bomb ripped a 30 foot crater in the street, injuring over 100 besides those killed.

No evidence proved Hezbollah’s involvement. Moreover, it had nothing to gain but plenty to lose. […]

Neither the India or Georgia incident caused deaths. That alone is suspicious. If Israel or other professional assassins want someone dead, bet on it. If targets escape unscathed or with minor wounds, smell a rat. The odor from New Delhi and Tbilisi is telling.

India Responds

India’s Foreign Minister SM Krishna announced an investigation. Protection for Israeli embassy staff was added. India’s Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram said the attack was committed by a “very well-trained person.”

Tali Yehoshua-Koren, wife of Israel’s defense attache was slightly wounded. After hospital treatment to remove shrapnel, she was released. Her husband said she’s recovering nicely.

The incident occurred one day after the fourth anniversary of Hezbollah leader Imad Mughniyah’s assassination. He was falsely linked to terror attacks on American and Israeli targets.

In 2008, a Damascus car bomb claimed him. Israel was blamed at the time. It was typical Mossad terror. Israel, of course, denied it. In the 1970s, Mughniyah was a student brigade organizer. He aided Arafat and other senior PLO officials in Lebanon. He was falsely accused of masterminding the 1983 US Embassy Beirut attack, as well as truck bombing French and US marine barracks in Lebanon.

Without evidence, he and Hezbollah’s rap sheet include the 1983 US Lebanon embassy and marine barracks bombings, highjackings, hostage taking, rocket attacks against Israel, suicide bombings, and more. He and Hezbollah denied them, saying they only respond defensively when attacked against militants, not civilians.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah accuses America and Israel of making false terrorist charges for political, not legitimate, reasons. At issue is its resistance to imperial aggression.

Argentinean officials also bogusly charged Mughniyeh in connection with the 1992 Israeli Buenos Aires embassy bombing. It killed 29 and wounded another 242 civilians.

In 1999, its authorities issued an arrest warrant for this attack and the 1994 AMIA (Argentine Israelite Mutual Association) Buenos Aires bombing. It killed 85 and injured hundreds. Argentina has Latin America’s largest Jewish population. It numbers around 200,000.

Once named, it’s easy to pile on more accusations. Mughniyeh faced many, including the 1996 Saudi Arabia Khobar Towers bombing and a 2006 border incident Israel used to wage aggressive war on Lebanon.

A Final Comment

When it rains, it pours. On February 14, Haaretz headlined, “Suspected Iranian national maimed by own bomb in Bangkok,” saying:

“A man thought to be Iranian was seriously wounded in Bangkok on Tuesday when a bomb he was (allegedly) carrying exploded and blew one of his legs off, police and a government spokeswoman said.”

Be suspicious. If a professional assassin wanted someone dead, he or she would wouldn’t be wounded in the process.

The report added that “Shortly before, there had been an explosion in a house the man was renting” in central Bangkok. Both incidents smell, especially by pointing fingers at Iran with no corroborating evidence. Yet Haaretz headlined it without questioning charges that appear baseless.

Israel and Washington are spoiling for a fight. What better way to justify one than by state-sponsored false flags blamed on intended targets.

It’s the oldest trick in the book with a long sordid history. Be suspicious whenever headlines feature incidents without evidence. It suggests none exists and those blamed are innocent. Believe it!

  2. Another great article, Stephen… I’m your greatest fan… your thoughts mimic mine, albeit much more in depth.. Yes, if people get confused about the powers of this earth, and what to believe.. the best advice is when any of ‘them’ open their mouth, it is wise to believe they are LYING. About EVERYTHING..Iran is a very Godly nation.. tis why these evil ‘things’ hate them. The leader of Iran is talked about by GOD, in Isaiah and Revelation. HE says He has’ whispered in his ear, and he listens to HIM’. Therefore, HE will lead them {Iran} to victory, talked about when the White Horse and Rider {GOD} come to bring the nations victory against the evil ones, in Rev 6.

‘They were rogue killers before entering politics’… yes indeed… ‘they’ were already ‘in politics’ in Revelation 12..accusing ‘his brothers and sisters day and night,’ warmongering and murdering Gods wife and newborn baby son, committed in Heaven. The reason God created earth, and made it a solitary planet from all others He has created..

It’s the oldest trick in the book with a long sordid history’.. but their ‘history’ ends in Revelation 17. God has ordained JUSTICE on that single day. He watched everything ‘they’ have done to the innocents on earth. HE will make everything joyful, once again… in the place that only HE, can take us to. Heaven. I hold my breath, for His Majesty defies all description. My KING.

  3. Why do you have an obvious double standard?!… When “people” claim it was the Mossad that killed Imad Mughniyah or that the Mossad is behind attacks in Iran (without a grain of proof offered) you’re quite happy to accept that as the truth…

However, when “people” claim (with more then a grain of proof) that Iran is behind the New Delhi and Tbilisi attacks you’re more then happy to claim that it’s pretty “obvious” that this is an Israeli false flag operation…

By the way, even professionals sometimes have serious work accidents… The notion that the Iranian who blew off his legs in Bangkok couldn’t have been an assassin (because of the unintended explosion) is ludicrous in and of itself!…

    • No double standard Hans.

Israel practically boasted of killing Mughniya whereas Iran does not claim to have any connection to the recent bombings.

You state that there is “more then a grain of truth” to the allegations. What grain would that be?

Israel conducts these types of criminal operations because they operate with impunity under a US veto umbrella.

Iran has no comparable safety net. This fact alone makes it idiotic for people to believe Israel’s false accusation.

      • You’re really quite disingenuous… Israel did NOT boast of killing Mughniya… And I did NOT post “a grain of truth” but rather “a grain of proof”…

You can deny it all you want but you DO hold a double standard!… And, you’re quite disingenuous to boot!… You intentionally misquote people (see above), you use an old (December 2008 – January 2009) Operation Cast Lead picture to illustrate a current event (as if it was a picture of the current event WITHOUT noting that you’re using a file picture)… You are quite happy to accept unverifiable claims as long as they are anti-Israel while at the same time you’re quite happy to discount claims that have far more substance to them if they’re pro-Israel…

I read your blog because I like to read what people who hold opinions that are contrary to mine think and write and, as a true democrat, I would fight to death for your right to publish your opinions (even while I disagree with them) but don’t expect me to just swallow your obviously biased “reporting”…

        Have a good day!

        • The fact is that many Israeli officials exalted in the assassination and all but officially owned it. Your attempt at having it both ways is obnoxious.

None of your Zionist inspired claims have any merit or logic whatsoever. They are simply tiresome and boring lies.

Your expectation that there is some great distinction between one picture of a bombing in a densely inhabited area and another in the same area lacks reason. Yes, file photos are sometimes used along with snippets of articles on the Aletho News home page and if one follows the link to the full article one finds them identified as such.

          • Gee… An enemy of Israel is eliminated and you expect Israeli officials to be sad?!… And what’s this about “your attempt at having it both ways”?!… Do you claim I speak for “Israeli officials”?!…

As for the picture, you claim that “file photos are sometimes used along with snippets of articles on the Aletho News home page and if one follows the link to the full article one finds them identified as such” except that in this case the link leads to an external source that doesn’t show the picture at all!… In other words, this your own propaganda!…

You’re not just disingenuous but you’re also mendacious!…

            • My budget does not allow for hiring photographers in every locale, should I therefore abandon the field to the propagandists that are owned by the criminal financial class?

The picture is of an aerial bombardment of a built up area in Gaza, exactly the issue which the article covers.

Your attempt at excluding those without the means of the kleptocracy is obvious and bold in its disregard for truth. Does the Jerusalem Post provide its readers with pictures of these attacks? No. They are happy to disregard the consequences of their crimes.

              • Does your budget not cover adding a few words to the effect that it’s a file picture?!… You’re kidding right?!… Also, I have shown you’re earlier excuse to have been false… You DID provide that picture… It was NOT part of the original source… You did not point out that it was a file photo… In short, you embellished the story according to your own convictions… That’s not “reporting”… That’s propagandizing… All you had to do was add a little disclaimer (“file photo”) and you would have been fine…

As for bombing in a buildup area, that’s entirely legal according to international law (Geneva Conventions) provided the concepts of distinction and proportionality are adhered to… As your picture clearly shows a munitions dump being hit (the explosion is way too dramatic for it to be anything else) it would seem certain that in the case of this picture distinction and proportionality were adhered to…

However, many of your readers were left with the impression that the picture was current and showed an Israeli crime… Which was, I dare say, entirely your purpose to begin with…

As for criminal financial class, according to some I would belong to the monied class… I left the safety of a secure and decent paying corporate job plus I invested almost everything I had in my venture… In addition, I worked my butt off to reach my position… Some would say I was lucky… I say I made my own luck…

It’s 19:46 on a Friday and I’m still at the office so you don’t impress me with “red” BS of the kind dat has you claim there’s a “criminal financial class”…

                • Using a file photo does not amount to using “convictions.”

Israel never conforms to the requirements of international law regarding proportionality, military necessity or aggression. A simple analysis of the numbers of victims makes this irrefutable.

Aletho News readers are quite used to seeing file photos posted here as well as at the poorly funded Palestinian sources which Aletho News links to.

You may enjoy kidding yourself that you “made your own luck.” Others would presume that you benefited from connections and discrimination.

Your claim that the financial class is not criminal is risible.

                  • Your claim that “Israel NEVER conforms to the requirements of international law regarding proportionality, military necessity or aggression” (my emphasis) is quite hollow… A simple analysis of the numbers of victims makes that quite clear…

As for the picture, I noticed that you removed it… Obviously I hit a spot there…

As for me making my own luck, presumptions of me having used connections and discrimination are baseless… But then again, so is much of your stuff… You basically claim things are a certain way because, according to your POV, they can’t be otherwise… Proof doesn’t even come into play… Your POV is all the proof you need…

As for your claim that EVERYBODY who’s managed to succeed and move ahead financially must be criminal – THAT is indeed risible… But then again, as we have seen… Your position is that things are as they are seen from your POV… No further proof required…

  4. I went to sleep last night pondering this discussion. I have a driving need to comment on how I see this.

There are two kinds of people in the world. Those who completely embrace the lies that are told to us, as gospel.

Then there are the so called ‘conspiracy theorists’. These are the ones who are accused, vilified, scoffed at, mocked, and scorned. The Truth-tellers.

It explains, perfectly, of what originally happened, why, and who we are. What really causes this great chasm, this divide that will not be crossed? There are those who believe that GOD should be left out of serious discussions. We might be driving away the majority of readers. But God is the reason for it all. The same thing happened in Heaven, where all this bickering started. Don’t believe me. In the midst of a book written by zionists, FOR the zionists, there can be found what is commonly known as TRUTH. When God made certain creations, He made an uncommonly beautiful angel. The darling of Heaven. As it happens on earth, those who are beautiful or rich, become egotists, in love with self.. narcissitic, out of control, mistakenly believe that nothing can stop them. Regardless of where that lack of control takes them. We all know the sociopaths, the psychos that have a lack of regard for anything and everything. They don’t take the time to really search out the ‘truth’.. it has already been ‘told’ to them by liars and thieves.. such was lucifer. He had such power in his lies that a full third of millions of angels followed him in his rampage against God, in HIS Heaven. Thus, God created earth, and these madmen/women, reside here for the time God has allotted to them. If we open our eyes, we can see the end is on the verge of the precipice..their time to destroy and to manipulate is at an end. THEY know it. Alot of US know it. It will happen as God designed it to. It is all up to HIM. ONLY Him. Without HIM, nothing can/or will exist. Nothing. So the moral of this story is this: We are the very same now, as we were then, in Heaven.. our choices are set in stone. Nothing on earth can change who we are, and none of us want it changed. The beauty of this whole story, is that each of us gets exactly what we want. To stay on earth and to face God in His judgement or to go back to Heaven where we yearn to be. The desires of each of us will be met. So ….. no matter how much we either try to sway someone to ‘see’, whatever it is, it won’t be done. Each of us is who we were. And will be again.

  5. Gee… How like a real propagandist… You think that you can shut me up by disabling my ability to comment on your propaganda?!… You think that I’ll be shut up if you delete my posts?!…

How old did you say you were?!…

You may, eventually, be able to stop me from commenting around here… That won’t change a thing because the truth is what it is and while propagandists like you may enjoy temporary success in the long run your lies will be put to the light…
