  1. Hmmm–good post; but I’m regrettably and woefully ignorant of Europe (including the “far-right”/”hard-right” NF, Le Pen et al). I’d sure like to see some frank and stimulating discussion among AlethoNews staff and participant readers. (As one example, as I admit that I haven’t searched for it and really cannot while in the process of scribbling this comment, “Schengen” is a completely foreign/unknown word or concept to me….)

    • My understanding is that “Schengen” is short for free movement of peoples within the EU. Brits can buy retirement villas in Spain, Poles can take jobs in the UK.

Whatever one thinks about Schengen or the Euro, it is seeming more and more that influence in Brussels is not popular based.

By opposing the established order, the “far-right” is now poised to absorb vast tranches of popular support leaving the “left” to become irrelevant to the political shifts.

      • Thank you for this prompt and responsive feedback! Wow, it seems that “lefties” like me are steadily becoming “irrelevant” in Europe as well as the US and elsewhere (the Zioentity a prime–and leading/trend-setting–example?). The Rush Limbaughs et al (and Trump…?) strike a popular chord in white-supremacist or other disaffected slices of populations…hate-filled vigilante zealots using words as weapons (“real” weapons to follow…?), in my limited view of what’s going on. That mentality skews the whole equation “rightward,” such that, now, “even” “human rights” advocates are the damnable neolibs who, in the end as I see it, are nothing more than zionazineocons pursuing the same goal in a “right to protect” cloak of hubris and evil intent…full-spectrum Zionist-imperial dominance here, there, everywhere….

        • One way to view the question is that the whole left-right paradigm has gone by the wayside.

What will “left” really mean when Hillary claims the territory?

          Power supersedes ideology.
