As conflict rises in Israel, Trump offers a relatively noninterventionist reaction among Republican presidential candidates

By Adam Dick | Ron Paul Institute | October 7, 2023

In response to a Saturday attack by Hamas in Israel, Republican Party presidential candidates rushed out statements setting forth their related views. Among these statements, the statement of Donald Trump stood out as relatively noninterventionist.

While placing blame on Hamas, Trump refrained from promising support for the government of Israel in the conflict. This set him apart from the other prominent Republican candidates who made comments pledging support for Israel.

Here is Trump’s Saturday statement on the matter:

These Hamas attacks are a disgrace and Israel has every right to defend itself with overwhelming force. Sadly, American taxpayer dollars helped fund these attacks, which many reports are saying came from the Biden Administration. We brought so much peace to the Middle East through the Abraham Accords, only to see Biden whittle it away at a far more rapid pace than anyone thought possible. Here we go again.

So far so good. Trump is not endorsing in his statement the United States government supporting the Israel government in this conflict. But, there certainly is much pressure on him to make such an endorsement soon.

Other Republican presidential candidates, in contrast, jumped immediately at the opportunity to declare their support for aiding Israel in this new rising conflict. Tara Suter reported Saturday at The Hill on other prominent Republican candidates’ early statements on the matter. Every one of them took a step beyond Trump, pledging their support to the Israel government in the rising conflict.

Below are excerpts from those candidates’ statements presented in Suter’s article.

Doug Burgum: “Iran and its terror sponsors in Gaza are showing the world their true face: pure evil. Israel is at war with brutal terrorists and the United States must provide maximum support to our democratic ally.”

Chris Christie: “We must do whatever it takes to support the State of Israel in its time of grave danger, and we must end the scourge of Iran-backed terrorism.”

Ron DeSantis: “Israel not only has the right to defend itself against these attacks, it has a duty to respond with overwhelming force. I stand with Israel. America must stand with Israel.”

Nikki Haley: “Israel has every right to defend its citizens from terror. We must always stand with Israel and against this Iranian regime.”

Mike Pence: “Our prayers are with the families and soldiers of our most cherished ally. @netanyahu [Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu)] says Israel is ‘at war’ America Stands With Israel[.]”

Vivek Ramaswamy: “Israel’s right to exist & defend itself should never be doubted and Iran-backed Hamas & Hezbollah cannot be allowed to prevail. I stand with Israel and the U.S. should too.”

Tim Scott: “Israel has a right to defend itself and the United States must stand in support of its steadfast ally.”

Can Trump continue to resist the pressure being put on him to declare that he does, and the US government should, “stand with Israel” in regard to this rising conflict? We’ll see. Taking a solitary course concerning this matter would be consistent with Trump’s apparent effort to run as the peace candidate among the contenders in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

  1. Trump lives in a Zionist State called the U.S. He will always take Israel’s side in any conflict. But, it isn’t Hamas who caused this fight. For 75 years the Palestinian people have been treated like animals in a cage called the Gaza Strip. 75 years of torture, murder, and dispossession of their lands and homes will make anyone fight back. The Israelis decided to storm the Al Aqsa Mosque, the third most holy site in Islam. What did these fools think would happen? Calling the Hamas attack unprovoked is totally laughable and karma can be a bitch.

    • “Like!” Recall that Zionist general circa 1983 who callously demeaned the Palestinians to “cockroaches scurrying in a bottle”?

  2. Noted. I detest Trump’s statement, relatively “benign” or “mild” as it may be when compared to the warmongering, kneejerk, Zionist utterances of what must be 99 percent of other candidates and the pol-prostitutes who populate ZioOccupied WashDC…who are “in it” for the money, power, influence et al accruing to servile obeisance to the monster lurking and operating among us with accustomed/total impunity. Has none of them the least feeling of shame — or compassion for the endangered Palestinians?

Viva Palestine! Viva Hamas, the stalwart resister of evil that is in the ugly, godless shape of state-terrorist Zionist Israel and the matrix of the settler-colonial ideology Zionism.

  3. Enough with the Trump shit. Donald Trump was not a successful businessman, he was a the son of a goy real estate mogul in the heart of Zionist NYC and he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Despite this he squandered all of his father Fred’s ill-gotten “real estate” money and became indebted to the Zionists, but not before he had been trained by Zionist Roy Cohn in the art of using the media to stir things up for his own ends. He was allowed media opportunities to ingratiate his likeness with a certain sector of the populace that would later come to embrace him as a seeming alternative to the US uniparty that Americans finally somewhat woke up to.

Trump handed the entire Middle East policy of the US to arch-Zionist Jared Kushner. The Kushner clan is a criminal enterprise unto themselves and the idea that Trump had anything to do with the silly “Abraham Accords” or even knows or cares about the history or future of the region outside of what it will do to satisfy his own insatiable ego is of course asinine.

Trump was given massive media exposure by the Zionist mainstream media as well as the “alternative” Breitbart which really propelled Steve Bannon and Trump into the spotlight. Andrew Breitbart was another arch-Zionist and the site was and continues to be a bastion of Zionism.

Trumps’ biggest funder was Zionist Sheldon Adelson who had previously been the GOP’s biggest funder. Adelson, like Haim Saban on the DNC side, said he’s a “one issue guy and my issue is Israel.”

Trump’s next biggest funder was Zionist Bernard Marcus of the Home Depot empire that obliterated small hardware stores across the United States.

Trump’s next biggest funder was Zionist Steve Roth who helped bail Trump out of bankruptcy in the 80’s-90’s.

Trump’s next biggest funder was PE vampire Paul Singer.

Trump’s appeal was supposed to be that he’s a “self-made man” and doesn’t need the billionaires money. This isn’t true. If it was, he wouldn’t have had to appeal to his legion of fans for their hard-earned money by offering them stupid Trump memorabilia like rubber duckies for the bathtub (my sister’s friend’s husband actually bought some of these).

Why isn’t Trump doing something to help all the people who were riled up by him, walked into a psyop on 1/6 (just like “the left” walked into a psyop with “black lives matter”) and are now rotting in jail? Is their hero going to pardon them as soon as he regains his rightful place atop the garbage heap known as power and politics in the USA? He hasn’t said so, though one can hope. You can be sure he’ll pardon whatever fellow powerful criminals helped him along the way.

  4. Trump is not in any way, shape, or form “antiwar” and the Ron Paul Institute is really grasping at straws to even feign that this may be so. Trump’s milquetoast response to Israel’s barbarity with an immediate pivot to Biden ruining his precious “Abraham Accords” should be the obvious tell that Trump is nothing other than a pure, unadulterated politician who will say anything for his own ends.

Trump’ response amounts to: Hamas bad, Israel good, me good, Biden bad.

Donald Trump said that “Israel has the right to defend itself with overwhelming force” after saying that the “attacks” were funded by American taxpayers.

How exactly does this “set him apart from the other prominent Republican candidates who made comments pledging support for Israel.”

Was this writer, “Adam Dick” from the Ron Paul Institute, dropped on his head recently?

Trump merely says things a bit differently. Roy Cohn trained him well:

“And speaking of Trump himself, what of the man? Is he an ‘independent billionaire’ who made his fortune the good ol’ fashioned American-Capitalist way, i.e. screwing as many people on the bottom as you can to get to the top? Or is he someone who was positioned into power by the most domineering superstructure that history has ever seen, i.e. Organized Jewry? As the legendary Michael Collins Piper once wrote, ‘The story of the colorful businessman (and now television star) called ‘The Donald’ is one that demonstrates how non-Jewish individuals and financial interests can rise to great heights through the sponsorship of Jewish interests.’

Trump was groomed for the spotlight and mentored by none other than Roy Cohn, the immensely influential bulldog lawyer known for his role as Senator Joseph McCarthy’s right hand. Cohn, a homosexual Jew with ties to Jewish organized crime, taught Trump how to manipulate the press by using the good and the bad to his strategic advantage and remained a close personal friend of Trump’s, speaking to him 5+ times a day until the day of his death in 1986.

Cohn, using his ties to the mafia and International Jewry, guided Trump into his first major acquisition, Resorts International, a front company for Rothschild interests, the CIA and the Mossad. Trump of course would liquidate his interests in the company, but his ties to World Zionism didn’t end there, not by a long shot.”

Azaziah means “Yahweh is strong” in Hebrew.

It runs deep. Really, really deep.

  5. Trump’s name was one of the few on Epstein’s massive list that were circled. Trump flew on Epstein’s rape plane and Epstein flew on Trumps’ plane. Multiple times. Perhaps all the Epstein hype should really be directed towards the history of the Maxwells, not Epstein, who may or may not be alive on a beach in Tel Aviv. Doesn’t matter. It was Ghislaine’s father Robert who was the original gangster, a three-way spy for Britain, Russia and Israel. But Maxwell is celebrated as a founding father of Israel. He’s not celebrated in Britain or Russia, because obviously he wasn’t ultimately working for them.

It was funny listening to Acosta say that he was told Epstein was intelligence and to leave it alone. I’m reminded of Sheriff JW Pepper in Live and Let Die: “A secret agent?! On whose side?!”

    • We all have plenty of complaints about Trump. Yet the fact remains noteworthy that he has presently refrained from reciting the dedication to war for Israel that all other candidates are reciting.

Adam Dick could have gone further and given us RFK Jr’s statement:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on X (Twitter), October 7:

“This ignominious, unprovoked, and barbaric attack on Israel must be met with world condemnation and unequivocal support for the Jewish state’s right to self-defense. We must provide Israel with whatever it needs to defend itself — now. As President, I’ll make sure that our policy is unambiguous so that the enemies of Israel will think long and hard before attempting aggression of any kind.

“I applaud the strong statements of support from the Biden White House for Israel in her hour of need. However, the scale of these attacks means it is likely that Israel will need to wage a sustained military campaign to protect its citizens. Statements of support are fine, but we must follow through with unwavering, resolute, and practical action. America must stand by our ally throughout this operation and beyond as it exercises its sovereign right to self-defense.”

And at present Biden has dispatched a carrier group:

  6. Aletho, I hope you are right. I think Trump is owned, they have something on him, and when push comes to shove they can get him to do what they want.

Trump provided a gap for the largely Zionist-wagged US MIC to re-maneuver while the war-weary populace got a seeming reprieve. Afghanistan was done, preparations for Ukraine were continuing. Immediately upon taking office Trump ripped up the intentionally weak JCPOA, and US troops – with Israeli assistance – occupied Syria’s oil region and took over their wheat fields and their most fertile land in order to starve the Syrian population. This happened with Trump’s enthusiastic blessing and all while he’s saber-rattling against Iran, the huge remaining piece in Oded Yinon’s plan. I have never seen any indication that Donald Trump won’t quite willingly bomb the fuck out of Iran.

I obviously hope I am wrong.

I also think Trump was a better guy to have in office for the covid-rna event. Trump readily approved the greatest upward transfer of wealth in recent history (“Cares Act”) and didn’t have much to say about it. Sure, he wanted to “get back to business” as quick as possible – maybe – but he was ultimately fine with the massive amount of small and mid-sized businesses that collapsed, preferring instead to use the cover of the intentionally-induced riots to blame “hoodlums” and taking credit for loans that did in fact keep many businesses afloat – but put them in debt to his masters, the bankers.

Trump never advocated for the likes of Pierre Kory, Peter McCullough and the multitudes of doctors and front-line personnel who risked their livelihoods and subjected themselves to character assassination for daring to speak up on behalf of non-pharmaceutical interventions and about the dangers of the rna concoctions. He could say something about Ivermectin. He could say something about how the “vaccines” aren’t vaccines, he could say something about the fraudulent “approval” process, he could tell the American people that the process is rigged, the pharma companies are pathetic, Bourla should be in jail, etc etc etc. He can speak out on any of these issues at any time and it wouldn’t be considered out of character for him, it wouldn’t upset his current base of support at all – it would in fact appeal to other potential voters.

But Trump is not doing – and won’t do – any of that.

My rage at Trump is not an endorsement of Biden, RFK Jr. or any other candidate. I will not be voting for them and at this point I don’t see myself voting at all.

I want to take the opportunity to thank you for your insights into 9/11 many years ago. I first came across your writing at Information Clearing House where I believe you commented as “atheo.” I initially believed the official story of 9/11 – largely due to a pathetically non-critical acceptance of the writing of Noam Chomsky – and it was your skepticism and questioning that led me to discover “9/11 truth” (I’ve never cared for that term). It’s been a remarkable journey since then.

    • As I said, there is plenty not to like about Trump.

But we can still take a step back and see that he is apart from the vetted candidates.
