FBI Director Says Public-Private Sector Partnerships Are Important for Guarding Against “Misinformation”

During an interview with CNBC, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray lauded his agency’s partnerships with the private sector to target “misinformation” and “disinformation,” despite growing scrutiny over the way these types of partnerships have been used to censor the speech of Americans.
Wray complained that social media has escalated misinformation and disinformation and that AI is “taking it to the next level.” He then lauded private sector partnerships as a way to defend against the proliferation of AI misinformation and disinformation.
“I come back to the importance of partnerships to guard against it,” Wray said. “Not just our partnerships, but there’s an important role for the private sector. For example, AI companies, which many of which are very actively engaged in this fight to help detect deepfakes. You know, in some ways, AI is quite good at detecting AI, and so seeing the private sector invest its own time and money into trying to help detect some of the things that you’re describing I think is an important piece of it. Obviously, government partners, research community, etc., is another piece of it.”
After praising these private sector partnerships that target misinformation and disinformation, Wray attempted to downplay censorship concerns and insisted that these efforts only target foreign actors.
“To be clear, our role at the FBI is focused on the role of the foreign actors, as in the source of the information, not the content,” Wray said. “We’re not the truth police. We don’t aspire to be.”
While Wray asserted that these efforts target foreign actors, lawmakers have previously challenged this assertion and pointed to a federal court ruling that stated the FBI had flagged domestic speech as potential misinformation. This federal court ruling is part of a legal case that’s headed to the Supreme Court and alleges several federal agencies, including the FBI, violated the First Amendment by pressuring Big Tech companies to censor the speech of Americans.
Numerous reports have also detailed how the FBI has flagged the speech of Americans to Big Tech companies for censorship.

The army, or a part of it at the war college, has perked up and noticed some of the lessons of the Ukraine war, and that it’s a war that the US military could not fight. They’ve missed a lot of things, or felt they couldn’t/shouldn’t write about them, but they’ve figured some stuff out and written about them in a new report, “A Call to Action: Lessons from Ukraine for the Future Force” by Lieutenant Colonel Katie Crombe, and Professor John A. Nagle.
The entire thing is worth reading, but I’m going to pull out three of the main points. The first is that a volunteer US military can’t fight a real war.
The Russia-Ukraine War is exposing significant vulnerabilities in the Army’s strategic personnel depth and ability to withstand and replace casualties.11 Army theater medical planners may anticipate a sustained rate of roughly 3,600 casualties per day, ranging from those killed in action to those wounded in action or suffering disease or other non-battle injuries. With a 25 percent predicted replacement rate, the personnel system will require 800 new personnel each day. For context, the United States sustained about 50,000 casualties in two decades of fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. In large-scale combat operations, the United States could experience that same number of casualties in two weeks. (emphasis mine)

This is the same FBI director Wray who put MI-6 agent Christopher Steele on the FBI payroll as part of a deliberate effort to frame up Donald Trump under the pretext that Trump was a Russian agent. Wray received millions for composing the “Dirty Dossier” that was used to accuse Trump of that charge. It was all proven fraud but no one was held accountable. Wray is the one who ordered FBI intervention into the Hunter Biden laptop scandal before the November 2020 election to help Biden get elected. He is the same fascist FBI director who had some of Trump’s advisors arrested on phony charges then blackmailed them in an attempt to get them to turn against Trump. VP Pence set up Trump’s National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn, to be fired while FBI agents had before this entrapped Gen. Flynn into being charged with a process crime of lying to the FBI. they even threatened to prosecute Flynn’s son if he didn’t cooperate. Flynn didn’t cave in but spent all his savings and had to sell his home to pay legal bills. FBI director Wray also gleefully had parents arrested for protesting School Boards that authorized teaching “critical race theory”. Wray also arrested hundreds of Trump supporters whose only crime was entering the “People’s House” at the Capitol Building on Jan 6th. Evidence has since surfaced suggesting that Jan 6th was staged by our nations enemies to prevent Trump from being re-elected. FBI also arrested and jailed Trump supporters who did not enter the Capitol, but were simply some of the MAGA protestors protesting against the suspected vote fraud on Election Day.
It’s time for the rot in the permanent bureaucracy of the “Just us Dept” to be cleaned out.
