US President Joe Biden landed in Israel on the morning of 18 October and held talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just hours after the Israeli army massacred hundreds of civilians in Gaza during an airstrike on the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital.
“I was deeply saddened and outraged by the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday. Based on what I’ve seen, it appears it was done by the other team, and not you,” Biden told Netanyahu, promoting the Israeli narrative that the hospital was demolished by an “errant rocket strike” from a resistance faction.
Biden did not provide any evidence to support his assessment and followed up his comment: “There are a lot of people out there who are not sure.”
“Israel has a value set like the United States does and other democracies, and they’re looking to see what we’re going to do. I am looking forward to having a thorough discussion about where everyone goes from here,” the US president added.
For his part, Netanyahu said the “civilized world must unite to defeat Hamas.” The forces of civilization will prevail for our sake, for your sake…and for the sake of peace and security,” he added.
The two western leaders did not answer any questions from the press. Biden is set to meet with the Israeli war cabinet to “seek a sense of Israel’s plans and objectives in the days and weeks ahead,” a White House official highlighted on Tuesday.
The US president also expected to meet with the Jordanian, Egyptian, and Palestinian heads of state in Amman, but Jordan canceled the summit at the last minute following the massacre committed at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital.
“There is no point in doing anything at this time other than stopping this war. There is no benefit to anyone in holding a summit at this time,” Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said.
“This was the most advertised crime in history. It was a massacre by appointment. The Israeli government has been openly saying it was going to target hospitals for the last week, and the world just stood by and did nothing,” Palestinian surgeon Ghassan Abu Sitta, who was working in Al-Ahli Arab Hospital when Israel attacked it, told Al Jazeera.
Palestinian media reported that the hospital housed over a thousand people. The Palestine Red Crescent Society said women, children, medical staff, and “internally displaced people seeking safe shelter” were all killed during the attack.
At least 500 bodies have been identified so far, all of them civilians.
As Biden throws his full support behind Israel, the death toll in Gaza has surpassed 3,300. The besieged enclave has also lost all access to drinking water, food, fuel, and electricity as Israel is blocking humanitarian aid deliveries.
His first trip to Israel this year comes as the Pentagon has deployed multiple warships and thousands of troops to Israeli waters in anticipation of a regional war. Resistance factions in the region called for a “day of rage” against the US and Israel on Wednesday.

UNITED NATIONS – The United States showed its true intentions when it vetoed the UN Security Council resolution seeking a humanitarian pause in the Israel-Hamas war, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyanskiy said on Wednesday.
“The masks are off. No matter how hard the Americans tried to appear as peacekeepers, they ultimately failed. A huge foreign policy failure for Washington,” Polyanskiy stressed.
Earlier in the day, the US vetoed a Brazilian-drafted UN Security Council resolution that calls on Israel to rescind its evacuation order for Gazans.
Russia and the United Kingdom abstained.
Russia sought to amend the draft resolution to include a condemnation of “indiscriminate attacks” against civilians in Gaza, “in particular heinous strike against al-Ahli hospital,” and also to include a call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. The UN Security Council rejected both proposed amendments.
On Monday, the UN Security Council rejected a Russian-drafted resolution calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in the Palestine-Israel conflict.

Since Al-Ahli Baptist Church was struck yesterday evening and over 500 people were killed, social media has been abuzz with claims of who carried out this war crime. For Palestinians and reporters with knowledge of Israel’s rules of law – or lack there of – the answer was obvious; Israel hit the hospital. While officials in Tel Aviv first acknowledged the strike as an Israeli attack, they then backtracked and blamed the Palestinian resistance. However reporters covering the ongoing assault on Gaza and the resistance’s rocket fire into Israel have made it clear; the resistance’s rockets cause damage, they have been known to kill people, but they are not powerful enough to cause the amount of death and destruction caused by this one strike.
Looking through social media after the strike, a number of facts were clear to see. If Israel didn’t bomb the Gaza Baptist Hospital, why did the occupation army warn the Gaza Baptist Hospital to evacuate the premises before the bombing occurred?
Israel claims it didn’t hit the hospital, claiming a rocket being shot by Islamic Jihad misfired and caused the damage. To “prove” this, occupation forces have used a video which aired an hour before the strike – at 18:59 local time – when the strike took place around 19:50.
Israel’s newly appointed Digital Spokesperson Hananya Naftali then admitted that occupation forces bombed the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital. The post has since been deleted.
Israel also deleted a video posted as “evidence” that the Palestinian resistance struck the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Western media prepared the world for the strike. With the BBC posting a question ‘Does Hamas build tunnels under hospitals and schools?’ a day earlier, in a manner that almost justifies Israel’s targeting of innocent civilians receiving treatment.
While the reporting of events following the massacre simply claimed that an “Israeli air strike killed hundreds of people at a Gaza hospital”, without condemnation of the obvious violations of international law and the possible war crimes once again committed by the occupation and it’s forces.

Building on its reputation as an unreliable diplomatic partner, the United States announced on October 12 that it was pulling out of the deal that would have granted Iran access to $6 billion of its money in exchange for the release of five American prisoners. This rare diplomatic success between the U.S. and Iran took months to work out, only to see the U.S. break its word again and renege on the deal.
In 2018, the United States granted a waiver for South Korea to continue purchasing Iranian oil despite American sanctions on Iran. Instead of being deposited in Iran, the money for the oil would be placed in South Korean accounts that could be accessed by Iran for humanitarian goods in South Korea that were not sanctioned. However, entanglements in the web of the sanctions regime made it impossible for Iran to withdraw money from its account. Meanwhile, five Americans were being held prisoner in Iran.
Under the deal worked out between the two countries, the South Korean accounts would be transferred to Qatar where they would remain out of reach of Iran except for the purchase of humanitarian items like medicine, medical supplies, and food. The money would go, not to the Iranian government, but directly to the vendors who provided the goods. In exchange, Iran would release the five prisoners.
On September 18, Iran kept its word and released the five prisoners. A month later, the United States broke its word and denied Iran access to its $6 billion. Though it is not known if the refreeze is permanent, U.S. officials say that “case-by-case applications to spend [the funds] under the current arrangement will be denied for the foreseeable future.”
This is not the first time the U.S. has broken an agreement with what must be a frustrated and furious Iran. On May 8, 2018 the U.S. unilaterally and illegally pulled out of the JCPOA nuclear agreement with Iran that was successfully limiting Iran’s civilian nuclear program.
As with the current hostage deal, Iran kept its word and was in full compliance with the JCPOA nuclear deal when the U.S. broke its word. Eleven consecutive International Atomic Energy Agency reports verified that Iran was completely and consistently in compliance with their commitments under the agreement.
The solidifying American reputation cannot help but be a significant impediment to future important negotiations with Iran. It will also likely tarnish U.S. credibility as a diplomatic partner or broker in other parts of the world. Much of the non-NATO world—that is, the global majority—is already reeling from the realization of how the United States’ broken promise on NATO non-expansion east to the borders of Russia contributed to the current crisis in Ukraine.
This broken deal is not only not the first broken deal with Iran, but it is also not the first time the United States has reneged on a deal that freed American prisoners. In 1963, Fidel Castro freed American prisoners after receiving hints that their release could lead to a process of reconciliation, only to see the U.S. disappoint on its commitments.
Iran, on the other hand, has, in the past, kept its word on freeing American prisoners. When Iranian President Hashemi Rafsanjani promised to exert Iran’s regional influence and intervene to help win the release of American hostages being held in Lebanon, U.S. President George H.W. Bush promised that Iran’s help would “be long remembered” and that, in return, Iran would get something because “goodwill begets goodwill.” Iran successfully intervened to secure the release of the Americans being held hostage; the United States sent word that Iran should expect no American reciprocation.
Biden promised a quick return to diplomacy with Iran over the JCPOA nuclear agreement and then neglected that promise. He then broke another deal with Iran after Iran had already fulfilled its obligation. The American prisoners had flown from Iran to Qatar to the United States to be, as Biden said, “reunited with their loved ones.” His administration is reinforcing the reputation started by earlier presidencies that America cannot be trusted to keep its promises. That reputation could harm U.S. credibility in future diplomatic engagements.

It’s about a 20-minute-long interview. The interview is another good sign that interest in the JFK assassination is increasing among the mainstream media, especially as we approach the 60th anniversary of the assassination. If you have not yet purchased and read my book, I highly recommend your doing so. What the CIA did with the Zapruder film on the very weekend of the assassination was kept secret for some 50 years. Don’t tell me that the CIA can’t keep secrets! In fact, if it had not been for a fortuitous disclosure by former CIA analyst Dino Brugionio, there is virtually no doubt that the CIA would have succeeded in covering its role with respect to the Zapruder film secret forever.
The full details are contained in my book, but the following is the essence of what happened.
The official narrative has always been that the original 8mm Zapruder film, which captured the assassination of President Kennedy, was sent to LIFE magazine on Saturday, November 22.
Instead, what actually happened was that it was diverted to the CIA’s National Photographic Interpretation Center (NPIC) in Washington on that Saturday evening.
How do we know that? Because Brugioni disclosed it during the late 2000s to assassination researchers Douglas Horne and Peter Janney. He told them that the film was brought to NPIC on that Saturday night, where he and his team made blow-ups of selected frames from the film to put on “briefing boards.”
He said that two men who represented themselves to be Secret Service agents then departed with the film. (As I explain in my book, it is a virtual certainty that the two men were actually CIA agents posing as Secret Service agents.)
On Sunday night, a 16mm copy of the Zapruder film was brought to NPIC by a man named “Bill Smith” who also represented himself to be a Secret Service agent (but who undoubtedly also was a CIA agent posing as a Secret Service agent). He told a CIA official at NPIC, Homer McMahon, that he had just brought the film from “Hawkeyeworks.”
How do we know this? Because McMahon told the Assassination Records Review Board in the 1990s that he and his NPIC team were the ones who received that 16mm copy from “Bill Smith” on that Sunday night. Their assignment was to make blow-ups from selected frames of the film and post them on “briefing boards” — in other words, the same thing that Brugioni and his team did with the 8mm original film on the previous Saturday night.
What was Hawkeyeworks? It was a top-secret CIA film facility secretly located in Kodak’s research and development section of Kodak’s headquarters in Rochester, New York, where the CIA was able to do everything and anything with film that could be done in Hollywood. It was at Hawkeyeworks that the CIA made an altered, fraudulent copy of the film using a state-of-the-art “optical printer,” which “Bill Smith” then took back to NPIC on Sunday night, where, after it was converted to an 8mm film, it became the new “original” Zapruder film.
How do we know that the Sunday night film was a fraudulent, altered copy?
One reason is that the Saturday night film was an 8mm film. The Sunday night film was a 16mm film. It is impossible to convert an 8mm into a 16mm film. Thus, the 16mm film had to be a copy of the original 8mm film.
Another reason is that when Horne and Janney showed Brugioni the extant film (that is, the film that purports to be the original), he told them that the film he saw on that Saturday might was different from the extant film they were showing him. It’s worth pointing out that Brugioni was perhaps the foremost photographic analyst in the world. (I detail his credentials in my book but you can read what Wikipedia states about him here.)
Another reason is that there is no reason to have taken the film to Hawkeyworks except for the purpose of producing a fraudulent, altered copy of it. (Note: I should point out that there is no evidence Kodak participated in the CIA’s production of the fraudulent, altered copy of the film.)
Another reason is that there was no good reason for the Saturday and Sunday night events to be kept secretly compartmentalized — that is, the Saturday night team never knew about the Sunday night team, and vice versa.
Another reason is that, as I detail in my book, Hollywood film experts who examined the extant film stated unequivocally their opinion that the extant film is an altered copy.
Another reason is that, as I detail more fully in my book, an extremely large number of witnesses stated they saw things prior to and during the assassination that that are not in the extant film.
It should also be pointed out that the fact that the CIA kept all of these shenanigans secret from everyone, including the Warren Commission, the House Select Committee on Assassinations, the ARRB, and the American people — and continues to do so — is itself incriminating.
Again, all of this is more fully detailed in my book An Encounter with Evil: The Abraham Zapruder Story.
Why is all this significant? Because it is this evidence that convicts the CIA of participating in the assassination of President Kennedy. There is no innocent explanation for the production of a fraudulent, altered copy of a film of the assassination, especially when the CIA kept what it did with the Zapruder film for some 50 years — and continues keeping the full operational details regarding the film secret. The CIA’s top-secret production of a fraudulent, altered copy of the Zapruder film automatically proves beyond a reasonable doubt that the CIA was, in fact, embroiled in the assassination of President Kennedy.

DOHA – Head of Hamas’s foreign political bureau Khaled Mishaal has said that “there is no future for Israel or its settlement project,” describing the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom and liberation from the occupation as a “great aspiration.”
In an interview conducted with him by Al-Arabi TV on Monday evening, Mishaal downplayed Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s threat to eliminate Hamas, pointing out that this was not the first time he made such threats.
“Refer to the old archives in previous wars; the goals were always ‘destroying Hamas,’” Mishaal added.
“The resistance studied all the scenarios, including an expected military incursion,” Mishaal said, describing Israel as a “house of cards”.
“Following the resounding defeat of the Zionist entity on October 7 and the collapse of Gaza Division, the enemy suffered a tremendous shock, so it searched for an image of victory through taking revenge on civilians and the popular incubator of the resistance,” the Hamas leader said.
“Israel has thought itself a genuine part of the region, but it is a transitory entity and a settlement project, and like all settlement projects, it will be dismantled,” he underlined.

GENEVA – The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has said that the Israeli occupation army has been killing an average of 100 Gazan children every day since it launched its large-scale war on the besieged coastal enclave on October 7.
“The Israeli army is crushing the innocence of Gaza’s children,” Euro-Med stated in a report on Tuesday.
According to Euro-Med’s new report, 1,046 children had been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza until Monday night (October 16), while efforts are underway to reach about 167 others who are under the rubble of bombed residential buildings.
Israel’s relentless attacks on Gaza also injured 3,250 other children, and at least 1,240 of them need special medical care.
“The children of Gaza have been severely harmed since the start of the current Israeli war and they have emerged as a top target during the ongoing genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza,” Euro-Med said, stressing that “the war have torn apart families and inflicted devastating impacts on children.”
Euro-Med also talked about many children who survived Israeli attacks, but they lost one or both parents and became homeless after their homes were destroyed.
Euro-Med said that it has hundreds of photos and video clips showing dead children with smashed heads and mutilated bodies or with fatal internal injuries, adding that scores of children in Gaza hospitals also suffer from horrific burns or injuries, not to mention their suffering from different psychological traumas.

The United Nations human rights office has said Israel’s brutal blockade of the Palestinian enclave of Gaza, combined with the evacuation order and forcible transfer of civilians, could amount to a crime against humanity.
Spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani said in the Swiss city of Geneva on Tuesday that the forced relocation of civilians has been classed as a crime against humanity and is punishable by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
“We are concerned that this order, combined with the imposition of a complete siege of Gaza, may not be considered as lawful temporary evacuation and would therefore amount to a forcible transfer of civilians in breach of international law,” she said.
“Those who managed to comply with the Israeli authorities’ order to evacuate are now trapped in the south of the Gaza Strip, with scant shelter, fast-depleting food supplies, little or no access to clean water, sanitation, medicine and other basic needs,” Shamdasani said.
“We have grave fears about the toll on civilians in the coming days. Military operations show no signs of abating.”
On October 12, Israel ordered 1.1 million people in the north of Gaza to evacuate and move south of the enclave as the regime forces prepare for a ground invasion of the besieged Gaza Strip.
Israel’s bombardment has already pushed Palestinians in the besieged enclave into smaller areas and spaces.
“International law requires that any lawful temporary evacuation by Israel, as the occupying power, of an area on the basis of the security of the population or imperative military reasons must be accompanied by the provision of proper accommodation for all evacuees,” Shamdasani said
The total death toll from Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip has risen to some 3,500, with over 1,000 children among the victims. About 12,500 have been injured since Israeli air raids began.
Rising death toll, and flattened buildings with no food, water and electricity supplies; are what Israel’s non-stop strikes, shelling and complete blockade have brought to the Gaza Strip.
The regime’s fresh air raids killed 80 Palestinians in Rafah and Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Israeli attacks also took the life of a Palestinian journalist in the north, bringing to 16 the number of journalists killed by the regime’s bombardments since October 7.
Israel launched its assaults against the besieged Palestinian territory following the Palestinians’ Operation al-Aqsa flood.
The humanitarian situation is getting worse by the hour in the besieged Gaza, with hospitals facing a collapse.
The World Health Organization (WHO) is warning of an imminent catastrophe in the territory. The WHO also said it needs urgent access to Gaza to deliver aid and medical supplies.
According to the UN Palestinian agency, UNRWA, fuel reserves at all hospitals across Gaza are expected to last for only 24 hours.“The shutdown of backup generators would place the lives of thousands of patients at serious risk,” it said.
Separately, the World Food Programme (WFP) said that its food supplies in the besieged enclave were running low, but it was stockpiling supplies in the Egyptian city of El Arish.
“We call for unimpeded access, safe passage to desperately needed humanitarian supplies to Gaza,” WFP’s regional communication lead for the Middle East and North Africa, Abeera Etefa said.
Aid trucks have been heading to the Rafah crossing on the Egypt border, but it remains uncertain whether the supplies can cross into southern Gaza.
Also on Tuesday, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh, during a press conference in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah accused Israel of committing ‘genocide’ during the ongoing aggression against Gaza.
“This is a war crime, genocide, and unprecedented destruction,” Shtayyeh said.

GAZA – More than 500 people were killed and 600 others injured in an Israeli direct attack on the Al-Ahli Arab National Hospital in Gaza, Palestinian health ministry said on Tuesday evening.
According to the PIC reporter, the airstrike targeted thousands of displaced people who took refuge in the hospital’s courtyards after their houses were destroyed in the ongoing Israeli aggression.
The Hamas Movement considered the Israeli massacre at Al-Ahli Hospital a crime of genocide.
“The horrifying massacre carried out by the Zionist occupation in the Arab National Hospital in the Gaza Strip, during which hundreds of people and patients were killed, the majority of whom were displaced families, children, and women, is a crime of genocide that once again exposes the true face of this enemy and its fascist government and its terrorism, as well as the American and Western support for this criminal entity.”
The Movement called on the international community and the Arab and Islamic countries to assume their responsibility and intervene immediately to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression for 11 days.

They are not the fearless, justice-seeking advocates they want us to think they are.
I’ve now written several articles pointing out the obvious. Namely, that all important organizations that are supposed to discover the truth are completely captured.
One of the most-important of these professions is Plaintiffs’ Trial Lawyer firms. These are attorneys and law firms that are supposed to exist to represent people who suffered grave harms from malfeasance or nefarious (and illegal) acts.
First questions: Where are these fearless, justice-seeking lawyers today? What are they doing with their lives and careers?
We know what they are NOT doing: They are not suing any person or company whose activities directly or indirectly injured or killed hundreds of millions of possible plaintiffs who are pleading for justice.
Potential lawsuits might expose (and give some compensation or “justice”) to tens of millions of people who suffered harm from lockdowns, iatrogenic deaths and injuries, vaccine deaths and injuries and/or vaccine mandates that resulted in people losing their jobs and incomes.
FWIW, such lawsuits might also stop these horrific practices, saving countless people from pain, suffering and even death.
So why aren’t these lawsuits being filed? Why won’t 99 percent of these firms even consider representing a potential plaintiff class that’s so massive in size?
My answer is that plaintiff trial lawyers are part of a “club” that’s now completely captured. It’s more important to these attorneys to remain in this privileged and protected club than it is to do the job lawyers were created to do.
Basically, to remain a member in good standing of this club, these attorneys know what lawsuits they can file … and, more importantly, what lawsuits they cannot file.
I also note that the members of the Plaintiff’s trial bar are among the wealthiest people in the world. If they file a case and win, they pocket at least 40 percent of the financial judgement.
I also understand most of these lawsuits never even go before a jury. They are settled long before that point – so plaintiff lawyers don’t even have to fully try a case, which, with appeals, could take years to adjudicate.
In short, if you become part of the group that can file authorized lawsuits … and identify enough winnable cases, this is a lucrative gig.
You are going to be a member of the best country club in town and your family is going to be able to take vacations to the south of France.
A key point is that this group never runs out of “winnable cases.”
Every day, an 18-wheeler (owned by a trucking company with deep pockets or good liability insurance) is going to be involved in a fatal traffic accident. Asbestos lawsuits are still making lawyers millionaires decades after asbestos was identified as a potential killer.
If “contaminated water” at a military base might, decades later, have made some people sick that’s a potential windfall for lawyers who recruited enough possible victims.
If you were perhaps discriminated against because of your LGBT status or maybe because of your race, this could produce enough money for a lawyer to live like a king for a couple of years.
Even hospitals or surgeons can be sued for malpractice … if they commit malpractice that is on the authorized “sue list.”
In short, no plaintiff trial attorney needs to file Covid-related lawsuits to continue to make a great living. There’s enough easy judgments out there to keep suing lawyers happy and content.
However, what would happen to these lawyers and their law firms if they suddenly started filing lawsuits against Pfizer, or Moderna or their local hospitals and doctors, people who are the most respected people in their towns?
What if they sued a random scientific expert, and their employers at the local university, who evidence showed were intentionally producing harmful and bogus science and who were retaliating against individuals who were trying to tell the truth?
What if they sued a big local employer, led by “civic-minded” and well-respected CEOs, who nonetheless helped enforce all the harmful and discriminatory Covid mandates?
If any of these things actually happened – if some serious lawsuits were filed – I don’t think the attorneys or law firms that brought these cases would remain in this exalted club for long.
Lawyers are smart. My guess is they understand all of this.
They know how cancel culture works. They saw that even Tucker Carlson, who had the No. 1 rated TV news show in the world, could be fired in retaliation for trying to expose club members.
Attorneys, more than most citizens, can probably tell which way the wind is blowing and who really possesses the most power in society. (The same dynamic applies to mainstream media “journalists,” who know what stories they can write … and which ones they can never write).
In a way, it makes sense that attorneys wouldn’t want to get sideways with certain people and organizations. It’s now been confirmed repeatedly that sociopaths, or those who covet status, are not amused when someone breaks ranks and challenges their status and control.
It would be interesting if some real journalist surveyed some of the most prominent plaintiff trial firms and asked their managing partners why they are not representing millions of gravely injured citizens.
I can guess what their answers would be.
The common answer would be that potential defendants in lawsuits are immune from liability.
This is no doubt true in some cases, but definitely not all possible cases, involving all victims.
As noted, lawyers are smart. If they wanted to file a case, they could find myriad legal grounds to bring said cases.
But, IMO, the real reason would be unspoken.
“Are you crazy? We’re not going to agitate the most powerful and politically-connected organizations in the world. They’d retaliate and put us out of the lawsuit-filing business.”
This is no doubt true, so the world’s elite lawyers are not suffering from paranoia.
But what these attorneys would really be admitting is they are not the “fearless,” justice-seeking lawyers they depict in their TV commercials.
If you were injured in an accident involving a big-rig truck, they’ll talk to you. But if your case would involve debunking the claims of Anthony Fauci or any of the non-pharmaceutical interventions endorsed by every important organization in the world … go talk to Robert Kennedy Jr’s law firm.
What these lawyers in their $5,000 suits are really admitting is that they do fear repercussions from the most powerful entities in the world.
They are either scared as hell of getting on the wrong side of the “Powers that Be” … or they are admitting they’d prefer to remain a member in good standing of the club that rules the world.
For the third time in this essay, I’ll note that lawyers are smart.
Lawyers, hypothetically, can represent any plaintiffs who’ve suffered unnecessary or avoidable injuries. Many key attorneys also represent big companies that want to eliminate or minimize the possibility they’ll have to pay vast legal settlements for corporate malfeasance.
When I think about the machinations of “club” members, it occurs to me that many of the best and brightest lawyers in the world have spent decades re-writing laws and regulations that will protect certain companies from lawsuits brought by millions of possible victims.
I’ve come to believe there was a quid pro quo with plaintiff trial lawyers: If you guys don’t sue the wrong defendants, we’ll make sure there’s enough people left in the world that you can sue and still make a great living.
Remaining a member of “The Club” is far more important to 99 percent of attorneys than representing victims … if said victims happened to be harmed by the policies embraced by the Club.
None of this would matter if lawyers and successful lawsuits didn’t or couldn’t make a difference. But they can and could … if we had many more attorneys who were genuinely fearless justice seekers.
In fact, society probably wouldn’t need a large number of attorneys who were brave enough to bring these cases. Once one jury returned for the plaintiffs, armies of lawyers would probably want to get their piece of this justice pie.
It’s possible legions of members of Plaintiffs Trial Bar are waiting for one brave lawyer in their group who does say, “Damn the torpedoes” and starts suing away.
Of course, this scenario would entail a handful of judges who would allow good cases to go to trial … and this possibility is being blocked as well.
It turns out that the judges are lawyers too. This makes one think everyone who could make a difference …. won’t … because they’re all members of the same captured club.

International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) has today issued UK Labour leader Keir Starmer, Shadow Attorney General for England and Wales Emily Thornberry and Shadow Defence Secretary David Lammy with a notice of intention to prosecute UK politicians for their role in aiding and abetting Israel’s perpetration of war crimes.
The news follows Saturday’s reports that ICJP issued Prime Minister Rishi Sunak with a stark warning that UK government officials could be individually liable for their role in aiding and abetting Israeli war crimes based on their public statements of unequivocal support of Israel, the ICJP said in a statement.
This comes as Scotland Yard’s War Crimes Unit has opened calls for evidence relating to war crimes in the region and could lead to senior politicians being prosecuted for war crimes by Scotland Yard. Individuals could also be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Last week, both Keir Starmer, leader of the opposition, and Thornberry spoke out in defence of Israel’s withholding of food, water and electricity to Gaza. They justified this collective punishment based on ‘Israel’s right to defend itself’.
“Both politicians are human rights lawyers and should be well aware that this argument does not justify collective punishment, which is illegal under international law,” the ICJP said in its statement. ICJP sent a private letter to the Shadow Attorney General last week, urging Labour Party politicians to comply with international law or action would be taken, and now a notice to prosecute has been issued.
“Lammy has also been issued with the notice that Labour politicians could be liable, in his capacity as Shadow Foreign Secretary.”
As well as the total siege on Gaza, Israel has also issued a directive to 1.1 million people in Gaza to immediately leave their homes in northern Gaza and move south. This order will result in mass forced displacement which may amount to both a war crime and a crime against humanity.
“Now that there is clear evidence that war crimes and crimes against humanity have been carried out, and politicians have been formally notified of this, continuation of such support and assistance would mean that any politicians, including senior members of the opposition, could be complicit in the commission of such crimes. This complicity, formally known as ‘aiding and abetting’ war crimes, may mean that UK politicians are held individually criminally liable for breaking international law,” the statement added.
ICJP demands that the Labour Party leadership and UK politicians call for an immediate ceasefire, an end to Israel’s illegal siege and evacuation order for north Gaza, condemn Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity. “They should then press the government into immediate action to do the same.”

Another reason is that when Horne and Janney showed Brugioni the extant film (that is, the film that purports to be the original), he told them that the film he saw on that Saturday might was different from the extant film they were showing him. It’s worth pointing out that Brugioni was perhaps the foremost photographic analyst in the world. (I detail his credentials in my book but you can read what Wikipedia states about him here.)
