Ron Paul #2 in NH … Democratic Primary!

By Bill McGonigle • 2012/01/12

Everybody already knows that Ron Paul placed second in the New Hampshire 2012 Republican Presidental Primary.   But, at 7 o’clock tonight, the New Hampshire Secretary of State published the full results of the primary, including write-ins, and Ron Paul also won the #2 spot in the Democratic Primary.

To be sure, sitting President Barack Obama bested Paul with a 49,480 to 2,273 tally, but that Ron Paul placed so highly in rank tells us a few things.  First, nearly twenty-three hundred New Hampshire voters got out and drove to a polling station, knowing they were going to cast a write-in vote, knowing that it was in a primary where no delegates could be assigned to write-in votes, but as a straight protest vote.

Given the insignificance of the voting act under these rules, it is reasonable to assume that many dissatisfied voters stayed home.  The numbers bear this out.  NH has 223,151 registered Democratic voters, and only 60,996 (27%) turned out.  Secretary of State Bill Gardner had predicted a turnout of 75,000 voters in the Democratic Primary.  Were write-ins valid for delegate assignment, the numbers would have likely been even higher.

Second, Ron Paul is the second most popular candidate among Democrat voters in NH.  This will be crucially important when the general election rolls around.  Ron Paul already won 50% of the Independent vote in the Republican primary.  The ability to build consensus and pull in Independent and other-party voters is essential to achieve a victory in the general election. […]

Ron Paul’s strong support among Democrats can be tied to many issues.  From his strong anti-war message to his assessment of the obvious failure of the drug war, his fight for racial equality in the justice system, his battle against inflation or his unique budget plan which fully funds Social Security,  Medicare, and Veterans’ benefits (without relying on the continuing willingness of China to buy US debt as the other candidates’ plans do) – Ron Paul’s platform delivers what many Democratic candidates only pay lip service to. … Full article

  1. Yes, but even with a defeated Barack Obama on November 6th, he will have until January 20th, a total of 75 days to attack as planned on Iran and Russia, hoping for total and complete capitation/surrender and world domination as his crowning glory.

The reality may be much different, the MAD scenario manifested instead. MAD being, Mutual Assured Destruction. That would be WW 3 and create a nuclear winter, and extermination of life in the Northern Hemisphere for certain, and a slower, less merciful death for the rest of the world.

Looks like the Mayans cosmic calendar may be precisely accurate, in that a calender for 2013 will have few notations of family birthdays, death and destruction is what the American ruling class does.

Or we can make a big fight of things as best we can, it will be the ultimate self-defense, anything less is mass suicide regardless if you vote or not. The turning point was letting George Bush Jr cow you into silence on 9/11.

And those who only call for a “new investigation” are part of the cover-up, for we know it was an American-Israeli conspiracy that did 9/11. And for saying/writing that, under NDAA, I am in dire danger of becoming a disappeared person, and certainly will never be freed because I have been a constant anti-fascist activist since 1965 and not without effect!

This all could have been averted by pubic action, but just waiting to vote has never been the solution, and it will not this year. And if that is all you can muster as a political act, you will not be alone, but part of the great majority of the walking dead!

    • Hahaha! That is wonderful grassroots action if I ever saw any! Yay! These people are not sitting around waiting to vote…Heck, they’ve been on the streets, tabling on campuses up and down the state of CA for the last decade, from what I have seen… And I doubt there’s anyone who knows better than me what has been happening on campuses up and down the state of CA better than I do.

  2. Gina,

A decade ago 2002, we were tabling on 9/11, as well as public access TV programs, as well as anti-war demonstrations. But, what became of it? 2003 Iraq was viciously attacked nonetheless the expanding wars of US aggression.

Tabling for candidates is what is am calling an exercise in futility, not exposing the truth of 9/11, bring forth incriminating evidence of who and why. Whereas, just calling for a “new investigation” is passing the buck so to speak. Government commission have but one mission; cover-up!

Speak out against Obama as a war criminal and enemy of the constitution and denounce all Members of the House of Representatives for not filing articles of impeachment for Obama.

Mention Ron Paul ducked the vote on the final passage of the military authorization act (NDAA). He did not bother to go vote against it, the outcome was a given, but nonetheless it was his job and he was a no-show. Why should you bother to go vote for him then? Because Obama is worst, right? Well, again no articles of impeachment, even by Dennis Kucinich, who ran a gutless campaign and allowed 9/11 critics to be marginalized. Gravel is a late arrival on the issue, but he is now on out there exposing it.

We also witnessed the Obama mania in 2008 about ‘”change you can believe in'” and how we know what, ‘”yes we can'” means – disappear you for torture and assassination. So, as with the ‘Occupy’ people, nothing has come of it. I see it as part of the larger CIA color revolutions funded through NED and AID. The logo is the same, the message is weak, and the wars are not an issue or their pretext, 9/11.

If you voted for Obama, you were duped. If you do it again, you are committing a crime. A war crime, for he is a war criminal. Is that being said on campus loud and clear? I doubt that, and if so, that should generate great debates, especially at SSU.

Let me know and I will be there next week I promise you. And what about Israel, the merciless monstrosity murdering Palestinians and more covertly (for the politically blind) in Syria and Lebanon, Iran, in Africa and in the United States too. And Obama is their boy, not your president, for he is the enemy of your constitution, the one you took an oath to defend as did I. It did not expire, and neither have we, that is the message to get out. Obama is an enemy of constitution! Do that up and down the state.

    • I didn’t vote for Obama because I knew he was bought and paid for by the Israeli pack. I didn’t vote for anyone that year.

  3. Perfect o! Keep it up, ‘you have nothing to loose but your chains.’ Withhold your proxy, for there is no one running for office who is as wonderful as you are. None in congress, on the court, or ever in the white house.

Now when should I canvas the campus with you at SSU? I would love to speak there and have you videotape it, plus a ballot is forthcoming, I guess the final issue is here with the signing of the military authorization act by war criminal Obama. So, if I will stop with posting and emails, for a day, it will be done.

But, I can not ignore this shocker:

‘Accompanied by a US aircraft carrier, 9,000 US troops including airmen, missile interceptor teams, marines, technicians and intelligence officers are scheduled to land in Israel in the coming weeks. Many will stay up to the end of the year as part of the US-Israeli Army deployment in readiness for a military engagement with Iran, aiming at a synchronized military front against Iran……’

  4. […] 2272  out of 60,996 votes cast (3.72%) and did place 2nd.   Obama got  81.1%.  A better article here. Sorry for the confusion.   Still it is amazing that so many would bother to write him in on the […]
