Netanyahu urges more pressure against Iran

Press TV – December 15, 2013

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for the escalation of international pressure against Iran over the country’s nuclear energy program.

“As long as we don’t see actions instead of words, the international pressure should continue, and even more than that, it should be strengthened,” Netanyahu said on Sunday.

The remarks were Netanyahu’s first comments after the four-day expert-level nuclear talks between the representatives of Iran and six world powers in Vienna last week.

On Thursday, the US Treasury Department announced new sanctions against a number of companies and individuals for “providing support for” Iran’s nuclear energy program.

On Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif slammed the US action as “unconstructive and inappropriate” and reaffirmed Iran’s resolve to respond prudently to such measures, while seriously pursuing the nuclear negotiations with the six countries.

The new US sanctions came despite the nuclear deal inked between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – Russia, China, France, Britain and the US – plus Germany in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 24.

Following the conclusion of the interim agreement, Netanyahu described the nuclear deal as a “historic mistake.”

Israel, known as the sole possessor of nuclear weapons in the Middle East, has repeatedly accused Iran of pursing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program and threatened to take unilateral military action against the country.

  2. Increase of pressure….. I am right for it!

Ending the endangerment of the world by maintaining situations that creates serious tensions around the world is the best thing that can be done, and happen!

Of course the development of nuclear power (weapons) must be stopped, no doubt about it!
Problem here though is that Iran already has submitted itself to the “demands” of the international community to not develop nuclear weapons, but use its nuclear powers for civilian use only, a right they have by international agreement and consent!
If Iran is not given the right to use its nuclear power for civil energy purposes, all over the world nuclear plants will be forced to close down, especially (as we all know) Iran has signed the treaty to not develop nuclear weapons (a treaty Israel still refuses to sign btw).

What the PM if Israel is committing himself to, by and with his words calling for an increase of pressure on Iran to end development of nuclear weapons, is of course that he and the state of Israel will start to follow international decisions (among others by the United nations, and various states that basically support the state of Israel), national and international court decisions and of course public demand to a. end the construction, and demolishing, of the Wall, b. end the illegal occupation of the Gaza Strip, c. end the creation, and support of the illegal settlements, and d. the arrest and keeping captive without accusations and or trial innocent civilians in Israel prisons!

The PM of Israel now, after his call for an increase of pressure on Iran to stop the development of nuclear weapons, without doubt will start adhering to all(!) decisions and demands from the world, as described above….. or expect of course an increase of pressure on the state of Israel to submit to all(!) from the world community, for instance more boycotts of Israeli goods and products, exclusion from events (social, diplomatic and cultural events), and of course the arrest of official and unofficial representatives of the state of Israel at airports, border crossings, etc. etc.

Everybody knows of course, and even the PM of Israel is able to understand this, calling for an increase of pressure on another country, even when that country adheres to all(!) international rules and regulations as well as decisions, that such a demand is followed, needs to be followed to by a total and full adhering to such rules and regulations and decisions when they apply to one’s own state…….right?

We know of course that the PM of the state of Israel will not do so, in all his arrogance and defiance of international demands, and we know of course that neither the PM of Israel nor its Government will comply to decisions by the relevant International Courts, and therefore I call for an increase of serious pressure on the state of Israel, its citizens and its representations, to force the state of Isarel to comply to all(!) rules and regulations and demands from the international community!

Claiming to be the only democracy in the region brings responsibilities! Honor and follow them!
