International investigators allowed Ukraine to fabricate MH17 evidence – Russia

RT | September 28, 2016

The Russian Foreign Ministry has said that investigators probing the MH17 crash allowed Ukraine to fabricate evidence, turning the case to its advantage, while denying Moscow any comprehensive role in the inquiry.

“Russia suggested working together from the start and relying on the facts only,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a statement for the media  on Wednesday, commenting on the findings in the criminal probe into the MH17 crash by a Dutch-led team of international investigators.

“Instead of [working together], international investigators suspended Moscow from comprehensive participation in the investigative process, allowing our efforts only a minor role. It sounds like a bad joke, but at the same time they made Ukraine a full member of the JIT [Joint Investigation Team], giving it the opportunity to forge evidence and turn the case to its advantage,” Zakharova added.

The spokesperson also noted that the JIT bases its findings on evidence provided by Ukrainian power structures, which are “undoubtedly a party with a vested interest.”

“To this day, the investigators continue to ignore the overwhelming evidence provided by the Russian side, despite the fact that Russia is the only side that submits accurate information and constantly discloses new data,” Zakharova said.

“Russia is disappointed that the situation surrounding the investigation into the Boeing crash is not changing. The findings of the Dutch prosecutor’s office confirm that the investigation is biased and politically motivated.

“To arbitrarily designate a guilty party and dream up the desired results has become the norm for our Western colleagues,” the spokesperson said.

  1. Russia may find that the Ukraine fabricated evidence in the MH17 disaster, into their advantage, but when the investigators requested information from Russia, the Kremlin refused!
When the investigators requested cooperation from Russia, by for instance handing over radar images, Russia did refuse to cooperate.
Russia produced radar images two years after the disaster, but till this day and moment these radar images are not handed over to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT)!
Why took it so long or the Russians to produce the radar images that are claimed to be present? Was it because they needed to be prepared? Was it because the Russian authorities were in some way involved in what happened that day when the MH17 was shot down?
Why is Russia not handing over the radar images to the JIT?
What is the reason why Russia does not allow the JIT to interview the people being part of the group that manned the BUK-entity that according to the report on Wednesday September 28 2016 was presented was responsible for the disaster?

Accusing the Ukraine of manipulating evidence into their advantage is one thing, refusing to cooperate in the investigation into the MH17 disaster is another thing, by refusing to cooperate (for whatever reason!) one looses the right to accuse others of wrongs!
The relatives of the people who died in the disaster want answers, they want justice, and they demand to know what happened and who is responsible for the death of their loved ones!
It is possible that the Kremlin is not direct responsible for the disaster, that a local commander gave an order that is embarrassing to the authorities in the Kremlin, BUT it would be a honorable thing to do when such an act of war (for whatever reason) would be acknowledged, how embarrassing it would be!
The Russian people are strong on honor, and are honorable people, the defense of national honor is a matter of principle, dishonorable actions are a disgrace to the Russian people, we can agree I presume that the downing of the MH17 flight was a dishonorable act, let those who are responsible act honorably and cooperate with the JIT, to at least enable the relatives of those who died have answers!
That is all that is asked, requested!
