‘Must Leave’: Iran Slams Presence of US Forces in Syria, Calls for Immediate Withdrawal

In October 2019, President Donald Trump announced that the US would be withdrawing its forces from Syria, but eventually backtracked, saying that a “small” American contingent would stay behind to allegedly “keep” the Syrian oil from being seized by Daesh.

Iran’s permanent ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Majid Takht-Ravanchi has called for the immediate and full-fledged withdrawal of US troops from Syria.

“All foreign forces whose presence is not permitted by the Syrian government must leave Syria”, the diplomat told a UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday, in an apparent nod to the US. He questioned American forces’ current role in Syria, insisting that instead of fighting terrorism, they “continue supporting UN-designated terrorist groups such as al-Nusra Front as well as looting the oil and wealth of the Syrian people”.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif earlier noted that Tehran would work to strengthen economic cooperation with Syria amid Washington’s restrictive measures under the US Caesar Act, which stipulates sanctioning almost all Syrian economic and trade activities, as well as government officials.

He was echoed by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who voiced hope in May that the “Americans won’t stay in Syria and will be [finally] expelled.”

Ambassador Takht-Ravanchi’s statement comes a few weeks after Jim Jeffrey, outgoing US special representative for Syria and special presidential envoy for the western coalition against Daesh, told the news outlet Defence One that he and members of his staff deliberately covered up the true size of the US military footprint in Syria from President Donald Trump.

“What Syria withdrawal? There was never a Syria withdrawal”, Jeffrey said, referring to Trump’s repeated orders in late 2018 and then again in 2019 to bring US troops home. “When the situation in northeast Syria had been fairly stable after we defeated ISIS, [Trump] was inclined to pull out. In each case, we then decided to come up with five better arguments for why we needed to stay. And we succeeded both times. That’s the story”, the US envoy added.

He argued that the actual number of US troops in Syria is “a lot more” than the estimated 200-400 that POTUS agreed to leave behind in 2019 to “secure” the country’s oil fields and prevent them from falling into the hands of the Syrian government or terrorists.

American troops, jointly with the Arab-Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), maintain control over a part of northeastern Syria as the US-led coalition of more than 60 nations has been carrying out airstrikes and other operations against terrorists in Syria since September 2014.

The coalition operates in Syria without the approval of the Assad government or any UN Security Council authorisation. Damascus, in turn, sees the US presence on Syrian soil as a violation of national sovereignty and an attempt to seize the country’s natural resources.

    And, of course, Syria’s legitimate leader Mr Assad has demanded that ALL US forces in Syria be withdrawn immediately, but, they are still there. So, who is in the wrong?

    While American people are living in the streets in great numbers, the USA’s wealth is being squandered, fighting Wars for Israel’s benefit.(And Wall Street hit a record HIGH(over 30,000 points a day or so ago, so, the Rich are loving it!)
    Take YOUR country back, America…….America first, Israel last.

    Few Christians or Muslims are aware that in the Babylonian Talmud Jesus shares his place in hell with the Roman Titus, who is depicted as being chastised for the destruction of the Temple by being burned to ashes in hell, reassembled, burned, reassembled and burned again—for eternity (Gittin 56b). In another depraved lie, Jesus is portrayed as being punished for “leading Israel astray” by forever remaining seated in a cauldron of boiling excrement in hell (Gittin 57a). According to the law (halahca) of Talmudic Judaism, “Anyone who mocks the words of the sages will be sentenced to boiling excrement (צוֹאָה רוֹתֵחַת).”

    The typical rabbinic and Zionist response to the truthful description of what the Talmud teaches about Jesus, is to lie and say that in this passage the Talmud is referring to “another Jesus,” rather than Jesus of Nazareth: “Many commentaries suggest that some or all talmudic references to Jesus refer to another person” (Koren Talmud Bavli [Jerusalem: 2015], vol. 21, footnote to p. 319).

    According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), “To agitate Christian readers, anti-Talmud writers often attempt to portray the Talmud as demeaning the figure of Jesus.”

    By the ADL’s reasoning, “anti-Talmud writers” are never scholars who are dispassionately committed to the discovery of the truth about what the Talmud teaches, but rather, they are only agitators who, from impure motives, seek to “portray” the Talmud as “demeaning” Jesus.

    How the ADL arrived at this conspiracy theory is not revealed, but the undercurrent of intimidation is clear: those who speak or write candidly and accurately concerning how Jesus is defamed in the Talmud are seeking to “agitate Christians.” No reputable person would want a career-killing stigma like that attached to his statements and most Christians and Muslims are thereby intimidated from pursuing the truth about the Talmudic depiction of Jesus. Moreover, according to the ADL, “the Talmud only refers to Jesus in a handful of places, and though these references may not reflect the courteous ecumenicism of the modern world, neither are they particularly inflammatory.” (Anti-Defamation League, The Talmud in Anti-Semitic Polemics [New York: 2003], p. 11).

    Long-standing denials by Talmudists and Zionists and their gentile apologists concerning the supposed absence of Jesus in the Talmud, are slowly being discredited after having held sway for centuries. David Klinghoffer elucidated this development in his essay, “What the Talmud Really Says About Jesus”:

    “…the scandalous passages indeed refer not to some other figure of ancient times but to the famous Jesus of Nazareth. What exactly is so scandalous? How about Jesus punished in Hell for eternity by being made to sit in a cauldron of boiling excrement? That image appears in early manuscripts of the Babylonian Talmud, as does a brief account of Jesus’ trial and execution—not by the Romans but by the Jewish high court, the Sanhedrin.” (Publishers Weekly, January 31, 2007).

    Mr. Klinghoffer says that the “Jewish community” has been content to let the evil sayings of the Talmud about Jesus “remain obscure and unknown.” His claim is erroneous. The rabbinic “community” actively teaches these viciously bigoted statements about Jesus within their religion, while denying to the world that they are present in their sacred texts. These inconvenient facts must not be suppressed. The admission by Klinghoffer and other Judaic intellectuals that Jesus is indeed targeted in the Babylonian Talmud, has brought with it no substantive analysis of the long record of rabbinic denials and falsification that preceded his revelation, and which continue in some instances, up to the present time. Mr. Klinghoffer is eager to have us pass over Judaism’s system of dissimulation as quickly as possible.
    Christians and Muslims are rightly offended at the disgraceful libels, pornographic scurrilities and hate speech in the Talmud.

    The Aerial Battle in the Toledot Yeshu and Sodomy in the Late Middle Ages

    Abstract
    Thomas Ebendorfer’s fifteenth-century Latin translation of a Hebrew Toledot Yeshu text is the earliest extant Latin version to include a full narrative from the birth of Jesus to the events following the crucifixion, and predates existing Hebrew versions. After reviewing the place of Ebendorfer’s work in the textual tradition of the Toledot, the article examines carefully the work’s account of the aerial battle between Jesus and Judas, in comparison to other versions. Ebendorfer includes the detail of sexual intercourse between the two, which is absent in many later versions. In the context of a discussion of Christian and Jewish attitudes toward male–male sexual activity in the Middle Ages, the article concludes that while this detail was in Ebendorfer’s exemplar, he could have elaborated on it in a way that indicates this was a particularly Christian concern.

    Introduction

    Jews had a variety of negative things to say about Jesus in the Middle Ages; Christians were aware of this, and blasphemy could be a pretext for persecution. Often the nature of the blasphemy was not recorded, either because to repeat it would have been shocking in itself or because it was more effective simply to hint darkly at the horrible things that were said. In the first half of the fifteenth century, however, comes the first documentation of a narrative element that appears in later Hebrew sources, that Jesus was raped by Judas Iscariot.

    The story of how and why this claim, which was perhaps the bluntest narrative account of homosexual intercourse in either tradition in the Middle Ages, appeared, when read in the light of Christian and Jewish attitudes toward male–male sexual activity in the Middle Ages, reveals a new complication in inter-communal relations.

    The year 1420 saw a major pogrom against the Jews of Upper Austria. The underlying causes included on-going tensions between students at the University of Vienna and other Viennese and the Jews, the fiscal needs of Archduke (later King) Albrecht V, and suspicion of Jewish complicity with the Hussites; the triggering event was an accusation of host desecration against a Jewish couple in Enns. The result was an edict of expulsion against the Jews of Vienna—the Wiener Geserah (Heb. הרזג gezeirah, “disaster, persecution”)—and in 1421 the burning at the stake of somewhere between 110 and 400 Jews. The situation of the Jews remained desperate until after the accession of Frederick III (King from 1440, Emperor from 1458).1

    Sometime during this period, Thomas Ebendorfer, a scholar of the University of Vienna, with the help of a convert from Judaism, compiled a text called the Falsitates Judaeorum, or Lies of the Jews, the major part of which is a translation of a Hebrew text of the Toledot Yeshu. Ebendorfer, born in 1388, was a student at Vienna from 1408, first in the arts faculty, then in theology. From 1428 to 1460 he was Professor of Theology; as a priest he also held several benefices, and he represented the University at the Council of Basel (1432-1435) and the king on several diplomatic missions. A number of his political writings survive as well as a Cronica Austrie up to the year 1463.2

    This article is especially concerned with Ebendorfer’s translation of the Toledot Yeshu, because it marks a break with the versions of this text that can be documented to have circulated from late antiquity to the central Middle Ages.
