Chinese report decries US hegemony

RT | February 20, 2023

The US has been abusing its hegemonic position in the world for decades to reap benefits for itself and sow rivalry and instability in other nations, a report published on Monday on the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s official website claims.

The document seeks to draw international attention “to the perils of the US practices to world peace and stability and the well-being of all peoples.” It offers examples of Washington’s purported selfishness in the areas of politics, the military, the economy, technology and culture.

For a century, the US has treated Latin America as its backyard, where those who resist the US face “political interference, military intervention and regime subversion,” the text claims. Elsewhere, it creates divisive blocs under its influence, and fosters “color revolutions” against opponents. Lately Washington has posited the false dichotomy of “democracies vs. autocracies” and arbitrarily labels nations as members of one of the camps.

The use of force has been a feature of US expansionism since its independence, the document says. Since 2001 alone, wars launched by Washington “in the name of fighting terrorism have claimed over 900,000 lives with some 335,000 of them civilians.”

The Pentagon has used an array of “appalling methods” of war, from biological weapons in Korea to depleted uranium munitions in more recent times, “causing… countless civilian casualties and lasting environmental pollution,” the piece notes.

The US government has used the dollar’s status as the global reserve currency, and its influence on the international financial system, to quash competition and slap unilateral sanctions against opponents. Washington “is basically collecting ‘seigniorage’ from around the world,” and during the Covid-19 pandemic, disrupted the global economy by injecting trillions of dollars into it, the report says.

The report accuses the US of using its status as a leading technological power to conduct electronic surveillance and espionage, including against its closest allies, as well as cyberwarfare, noting that having the leverage of big tech companies allows the US government to censor speech online and push its narratives on a global scale, while silencing critics.

The document concludes that the US should do some “soul-searching” and change its approach, as “the historical trends of peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit are unstoppable.”

  1. RT (via AN) is a breath of fresh air in my day. Kudos.

(China’s report is right on, to this amateur observer of the world scene….)

“…the historical trends of peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit are unstoppable.” One might hope.)

  2. Unfortunately this regime called the MICIMATT (Military-Industrial-Commercial-Intelligence-Media-Academia-Think Tank) will not stop until it is stopped by concerned citizens.

Yesterday, thousands attended the anti-war demonstration in DC. Rage Against The War Machine was a tremendous success uniting people from all over the country who had divergent ideologies. Americans all be they Right, Left, and Center, were well represented. It poses a nightmarish situation for the regime that has spent millions and decades dividing Americans by promoting identity politics, political correctness, while deploying the Justice dept to weed out dissidents that won’t go along to get along.

We have an opportunity finally to turn our nation into what it was intended. A Beacon of Hope and a Temple of Liberty if we refuse to tolerate subversion by the regime. Our success yesterday guarantees that they will try to do everything they can to deaden the momentum and co-opt our anti-war movement. We must therefore inoculate all who join against FBI subversion.

    • An excellent, stimulating, hope-inducing comment. Thank you so much. (I like MICIMATT — must take a note and tape it next to my computer! … perhaps Gummint, Security, and Finance/Money/Economics/Banksters could be made to fit in somewhere among the malfeasants…?)

      • MICIMATT = Military-Industrial-Congressional-Intelligence-Media-Academia-Think Tank Complex.
I mistakingly added Commercial instead of Congressional.
Wall Street certainly plays a role in all of this. It is in fact because of the disintegration of the financial system underway that drives the war in Ukraine. What people don’t realize but I think you may, is the Anglo-American financial oligarchy centered in the City of London and NY, who happened to be masters of a looting system that is hopelessly bankrupt, can ill afford Russia and China to be left standing tall when the transAtlantic system finally disintegrates.

The financial collapse in 1929 led to the banking collapse in 1933. Wall Street and its senior partners in London had caused a worldwide depression. If we look closely at how the bankers responded, it mimics today’s actions. US, British, Swiss, and German bankers put their support behind Hitler in Germany. Like Ukraine today, they armed Germany and then when they thought the time was right they had Hitler invade Russia in 1940. It almost mimics the same timeframe from the coup in 2014 in Ukraine and the breakout of war in 2022 provoked by NATO. What is not popularly known, is that Prescott Bush, George Bush Sr’s father, kept Hitler from going to jail in 1932. It was Union Bank of Berlin that laundered money to the Nazi Party to pay off a debt owed to the German government which kept Hitler from going to jail. Union Bank was co-directed by Bush and a member of the Harriman family. Samuel Bush, George Bush’s grandfather was an arms salesman who sold guns to Ernst Rohm’s SA in the 1920s. The SA was the precursor to the Nazi Waffen SS in the 1930’s. Russia has always been the plum to be picked by the British oligarchy. Ever since Halford MacKinder wrote his geopolitical analysis on why it is necessary for the British Empire to rule Russia. For MacKinder, “they who rule the Russian Heartland rule the world”.
