Zelensky regime leads request for social media platforms to censor “disinformation”

Ukraine has spearheaded a collective call to action, joining forces with seven other Central and Eastern European nations to combat “disinformation” on social media platforms.
In an open letter, the prime ministers of these nations urge prominent tech companies, such as Meta, to implement effective measures that curb the spread of misleading content and foreign interference, which threatens peace, stability, and democracy.
The letter, signed by the leaders of Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, alleges a danger of disinformation campaigns aimed at destabilizing their countries and undermining the European Union‘s support for Ukraine amidst Russia’s aggression.
Tech giants are implored to remain vigilant and avoid inadvertently advancing hostile goals.
Specific steps recommended in the letter include refusing payments from sanctioned individuals, increasing algorithmic transparency, and adjusting algorithms to prioritize accuracy over user engagement.
Furthermore, the leaders insist that platforms dedicate adequate resources to content “moderation” and address the growing challenges posed by deep fakes and AI-generated disinformation.
In response, Meta has stated that it has expanded its fact-checking capabilities in Eastern Europe and implemented measures to combat alleged misinformation related to the conflict in Ukraine.
The company has also restricted access to Russian state-controlled media and added labels to related posts, informing users of the source before they click or share.

This essay goes to the matter of Kosovo; where the Western states (NATO & the EU) have determined Serbia is not fit to govern a minority (of ethnic Albanians) on their own (Serbian) territory but the now purported (by the West) independent Kosovo is fit to govern a minority (of ethnic Serbs.)
The EU position seems to embrace an attitude of ‘never mind the inconvenient fact’ that recent Kosovo ‘leaders’ are being arrested and delivered to international tribunal for crimes against ethnic Serbs (includes organ harvesting), also not to mention what amounts to mere ‘lip service’ (no concrete action or enforcement) concerning the repatriation of 250,000 Serbs driven from Kosovo in an ethnic Albanian engineered cleansing pogrom following the NATO bombing of Serbia.
Insofar as an EU repatriation precedent, Croatia’s ethnic cleansing of Srpska Krajina shows the dishonesty of the EU position; there is no realistic expectation (and never was) by the European Union that the 200,000 Serbs expelled from this (formerly) Serb majority region would be allowed to return to Croatia and their homes. Meanwhile Croatia had been admitted to the European Union.
So, in the context of Serbs are not trustworthy to govern an ethnic minority of Albanians but Albanians are trustworthy to govern a minority of Serbs, the EU de facto embraces (actual outcomes, not political postures) just the sort of ethnic cleansing the NATO bombing was supposed to stop? … continue

These nations of the former Soviet Union have defacto taken Ukraine’s side in a war provoked by NATO. They have little power left as sovereign states. To spite Russia they have become satrapies of a Western hegemon that is trying to hold on to power for power’s sake. Don’t they realize the US dollar is being dumped by half the world’s nations?
The Global South is abandoning the Golden Billion and the Dollar system. Joining the BRI and looking to the BRICS for leadership, they have joined with China and Russia in establishing a new international security and economic architecture. Transactions in Yuan are being made. Credit for long-term development is being financed by China not through the IMF/World Bank, City of London, and Wall Street banking nexus. It’s a new day for half the world’s population, thus providing Hope and credit where there was none. This is causing tectonic shock waves that extend all the way to London and Washington. And the elites don’t like it. They fear it. Not driven by national interests, they are greedy and lust after power. They want to monopolize not engage in multi-polarity. Biden’s Ivy Leaguers think nothing of starting wars with nuclear powers and blowing up pipelines that supply energy to nations in their own NATO orbit. And when they are challenged on it they come off as arrogant and smug. Therefore the time has come for someone to seize the baton, now, before Blinken, Sullivan, and Nuland start WW3.
