Noam Chomsky has been much worse than hypocritical in the role he has chosen for himself in the study of 9/11. Chomsky treats the subject of 9/11 as if he’s some sort of master of analysis on the subject of what happened. He presents his conclusions without showing the due diligence of going through the relevant primary and secondary sources in a balanced and scholarly fashion. The primary sources Chomsky chooses to disregard include passenger lists, video and photographic evidence in the public domain, eyewitness accounts, original news coverage on the day of 9/11 and the like. … continue

Noted…hope to find 33 minutes to watch. Predominantly from ignorance and naivete, I’ve wondered for decades why mega-Big Pharma can’t get a handle on HIV/AIDS and eradicate it. From the early 1980s, I believe I recall correctly that HIV/AIDS was labeled a “homosexual disease,” transmitted by homosexual encounters and crossing over into the (mostly youngish and uncareful) general population. When COVID broke in 2020 and the frenzy to counter it became pandemic-obsessive, my personal observation-cum-belief was that HIV/AIDS had afflicted a particular/disrespected/deviant-community population and that a cure (or effective vaccination) had not been considered “priority” for all those years. If that’s valid, it’s shameful, and makes Big Pharma, off the top, a goddammed hypocritical, of course rapacious, beast.
The most-admired physician/GP of my life treated me for several months at my HMO for an iron deficiency in perhaps 1984; he was probably early 40s (I then = 42 yo). He was caring, concerned, gentle of demeanor and manner, empathic, super TLC-oriented. His business card read “Guy Y***** / Physician, Counselor, Friend.” In 1985 while on an airplane returning from a business trip, I skimmed a local-area newspaper provided by the crew for passenger scrutiny, and I came across the briefest of obituaries for Dr. Y*****…shock, disbelief, deep sadness. Putting the proverbial two and twos together, I soon came to intuit that Dr. Y**** was likely a homosexual in orientation (I hadn’t noted a wedding ring so assumed him single), had contracted AIDS, and had succumbed to the scary plague then abuilding. Even though I located his parents’ address and sent $100 in memorial, I (lifelong heterosexual) never received an inkling as to cause of passing. Dr. Guy Y**** — valued physician, counselor, friend: may you always rest in peace. Big Pharma: may you find a soul, a heart, a conscience, a life…and give life to us, your hapless victims.
