Trump administration pulls intelligence pick after his views on Israeli genocide in Gaza surfaced

Press TV – March 13, 2025

The Trump administration has withdrawn Daniel Davis for the post of deputy director of national intelligence for mission integration after his views against the Israeli genocide in Gaza came to light.

The withdrawal came after multiple pro-Zionist organizations and political commentators attacked Davis for his statements on Israel’s actions in Palestine as well as his supportive comments towards Iran.

In a statement posted Wednesday on X, the pro-Zionist Anti Defamation League (ADL) claimed that the appointment of Davis would be “extremely dangerous.”

“He has diminished Hamas’s 10/7 attack, undermined US support for Israel’s right to defend itself, and blatantly denies the grave threat the Iranian regime poses to global stability and American interests,” the official ADL account wrote on X.

Davis is a retired US Army lieutenant colonel who participated in the US invasion of Afghanistan.

After returning from Afghanistan, Davis became a vocal critic of America’s wars in West Asia, later joining the Defense Priorities think tank, which advocates for reducing America’s military involvement.

Davis has criticized Israel’s atrocities in Gaza, stating that the Israeli regime “continues to kill kids and civilians without remorse or military necessity.”

He has also criticized Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s involvement in US politics, claiming that he is “playing the US like a cheap fiddle” while calling US support for Israel’s genocide a “stain on our character as a nation.”

Davis has also stated that Iran’s operation “True promise I” (the retaliation against an Israeli attack on Iran’s embassy) was justified.

Had Davis been appointed, he would have served under the new director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard.

Gabbard herself has also come under attack by war hawks in the US political establishment for her positions on the various conflicts in West Asia.

The national intelligence director has repeatedly criticized Western support for militants in the Syrian conflict, stating that over five hundred million dollars in American taxpayer money was funneled to Syria, which ended up arming al-Qaeda.

Because of these statements, Gabbard was accused of “repeating” Russian, Syrian and Iranian information during her Senate confirmation hearing.

  1. The genocidal zionists are deathly afraid of anybody who tries to expose their blatant murderous actions in Palestine!

The US is just a controlled puppet of the zionist state and must do their bidding or be labelled as “anti semitic”!!

Obviously, the “Freedom of Speech” for Americans by the 1st Amendment doesn’t apply to anything that exposes the vile, genocidal actions of the Khazarian zionazis in Palestine and in the US of Israel!!

They’ve broken a lot more Constitutional Amendments than the First Amendment, though it all begins (and ends?) with this – thta’s why they put it first.

The Trump administration is now breaking due process clauses of both the 5th and 14th Amendments. They are setting precedents that will allow them to claw back money that has not only already been approved and earmarked by the House and Senate – but that is already ‘physically’ in the recipient’s bank account. This is a frightening precedent:

The Nathan Tankus piece that NC’s ‘David in Friday Harbor’ talked about is part of a larger entire series he’s been doing. There’s a lot there, but the gist of it is that they’re impoundment and other measures to essentially take structural control of the government payment system.

This sets horrible precedents. It’s actually the debate that the founders of the country had and those who didn’t want too much power in any branch of government, but particularly the executive – those guys won the debate. It’s been tested often throughout our history, and this may be its biggest test yet.

Tankus ends his article with this, which I believe concisely sums up where we are now:

‘The possibilities I’ve laid out in this article are somehow even more dangerous than using the payments system to impound congressionally appropriated spending.

As I was finalizing this article yesterday afternoon, the news broke that Citibank- in a separate case- had made a court filing providing evidence that the FBI had demanded that it freeze bank accounts associated with an Environmental Protection Administration grant program.

These bank accounts included a New York state government bank account.

The pattern across my previous reporting, my current reporting, the reporting of others and this late-breaking FBI-EPA-Citibank situation suggest that the Trump administration is testing the waters in order to gain far greater control of the United States entire payments infrastructure- control great enough to bend Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s enemies to their will at a speed far faster than courts could ever conceivably contain.

We are entering waters beyond the scale of constitutional crises and nearly every expert in this shallow pool feels ill-equipped to speak about it publicly for a variety of reasons. I’m having trouble imagining circumstances more dangerous.’

While the Ron Paul ‘Read the Constituion’ video is specific to war funding not appropriated by Congress, the same principle applies to all Congressional funding.

I’m surprised Ron Paul isn’t jumping on this. I understand it involves government spending on things they largely don’t agree with, but this is setting the precedent of taking the purse strings, so to speak, completely out of Congress’ hands.

Spending bills originate in the House and then move to the Senate. This was designed to keep spending as close to we the people as possible. I know we laugh now because it doesn’t really work like that – there’s always money for war and corporate and high finance largesse – but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t at minimum attempt to stick to the Constitutional principle.

This is known as the Origination Clause. It’s article 1, section 7, clause 1 of the Constitution.

The Trump administation is unilaterally breaking this Constitutional principle.
