Scotland votes on independence in 2014 and may tell UK to remove Trident missiles

I don’t like the delay in holding a referendum on independence, but I am very confident that, when we do, finally, have a referendum in 2014, the result will be a decisive “Yes” to independence for Scotland. After that, the Scottish Parliament will name delegates to negotiate the details of independence with the British government. One of the biggest disagreements in those negotiations will be about Trident nuclear missiles. The British government will try very hard to get a deal under which their weapons of mass destruction can remain based in Scotland. This must be resisted. The great majority of the population of Scotland are opposed to these weapons, the great majority of the Members of the Scottish Parliament are opposed to these weapons, etc etc, and Scotland will have the backing of the international community in taking a stand for nuclear disarmament.
