Pascal Lottaz: US-Russia Relations Decoupling From Europe?

Glenn Diesen | August 16, 2025

The US and Russia are both seeking to pivot away from Europe and create mutually beneficial relations that are less hostage to the conflicts in a divided, unstable and less relevant Europe.

Your Spouse Started Antidepressants and Became a Stranger

The hidden crisis and why it happens

By Dr. Roger McFillin | Radically Genuine | August 7, 2025

“I don’t know who this person is anymore,” James told me, his voice cracking as he described his wife of fifteen years. “She started Zoloft eight months ago for some mild anxiety about work. Now she’s rewritten our entire history together. According to her new narrative, I’ve been emotionally abusive for years. She’s filed for divorce, moved in with some guy she met at a yoga retreat, and told our kids that daddy was never really there for them.”

He paused, searching for words. “The strangest part? She seems completely unbothered by destroying our family. It’s like she’s watching it happen from outside her own body.”

Welcome to the SSRI marriage apocalypse: a phenomenon so widespread that entire online communities have formed to support its casualties. Spouses gathering in digital refugee camps, comparing notes about partners who transformed into unrecognizable strangers after starting antidepressants. The stories are eerily similar: personality changes, moral compass spinning wildly, empathy evaporating, sexual connection obliterated, and a strange, detached willingness to torch everything they once held sacred.

But here’s what makes my blood boil: The mental health establishment celebrates these relationship demolitions as therapeutic breakthroughs. “The medication lifted their mood enough to finally leave that toxic relationship!” they’ll proclaim, completely ignoring that the “toxicity” might be a drug-induced fabrication. This is my fundamental criticism of the therapy industry: therapists attach to their client’s inner world as if it’s absolute fact, unquestionable truth.

Even without SSRIs, people alter reality and create stories to cope with pain. But add psychiatric drugs to the mix, and you’ve got modern therapists providing unfettered validation to chemically distorted narratives, rarely approaching cases with empirical scrutiny. They jump right on the victim mindset, and in many cases, actively create it. “Yes, you were trapped in an abusive marriage!” they’ll affirm to someone whose brain chemistry has been so altered they couldn’t recognize genuine love if it slapped them in the face.

The Spell-Binding Effect

Dr. Peter Breggin, Harvard-trained psychiatrist and former consultant to the National Institute of Mental Health who’s spent decades exposing the dark underbelly of his own profession, called it “medication spellbinding”: the insidious way psychiatric drugs prevent users from recognizing their own drug-induced dysfunction. (I’m actually traveling to Dr. Breggin’s home next week to interview him, and you can bet your ass I’ll be drilling deep into this spell-binding phenomenon.) It’s not just that SSRIs change you; they rob you of the ability to perceive that you’ve been changed. You become a stranger to yourself while believing you’re finally seeing clearly.

“Lisa” sat across from me six months after stopping Lexapro, tears streaming down her face. “I feel like I’m waking up from a nightmare I created. I had an affair. I told my husband of twenty years that I’d never really loved him. I was prepared to walk away from my children without a second thought. Now I look back and think, ‘Who was that person?’ But at the time, it all made perfect sense. I felt nothing. No guilt, no remorse, no connection to my old life. It was like living in emotional Novocain.”

This is your brain on SSRIs: chemically castrated not just sexually but emotionally, morally, spiritually. The same serotonergic manipulation that’s supposed to lift your mood also severs the invisible threads connecting you to everything that matters. But you won’t realize it’s happening because the drug disables your ability to recognize its own effects.

The psychiatric establishment has convinced millions that flooding the brain with serotonin is as benign as taking vitamin C. They’ve never bothered to mention that serotonin doesn’t just regulate mood; it shapes moral reasoning, empathy, pair bonding, sexual response, and the entire constellation of neurochemical processes that make us capable of authentic human connection.

This is why I have profound concerns about prescribing these drugs during critical developmental periods. When you chemically alter serotonin in a developing adolescent brain, you’re not just tweaking mood; you’re potentially rewiring their capacity for intimacy, identity formation, and even sexual orientation. The explosion of gender dysphoria cases perfectly paralleling the mass prescribing of SSRIs to teenagers? That’s not a coincidence worth ignoring. That’s a red flag the size of Texas that nobody wants to acknowledge because it threatens both Big Pharma profits and progressive orthodoxy.

When “Treatment” Becomes Home-Wrecking

Here’s what the hundreds of stories flooding my inbox and online communities reveal: SSRIs create a spectrum of personality destruction, and we’re essentially playing Russian roulette with human consciousness. The response varies wildly because we’re experimenting with pharmaceutical compounds that fundamentally alter human nature itself.

For some, there’s an almost immediate activation syndrome (conveniently buried in the clinical trial data). Within days or weeks, they experience impulsivity that would make a teenager blush. Reckless spending, sexual promiscuity, acting without any consideration of consequences. One woman described it perfectly: “It was like someone disconnected the brake pedal in my brain. I was all accelerator, no caution.” Affairs happen in this state. Life-destroying decisions get made. Families implode while the person feels euphoric about the destruction.

For others, it’s the slow slide into emotional death. The detachment creeps in gradually: first, colors seem less vibrant. Music loses its emotional pull. Then comes the relationship anesthesia. “I just don’t feel anything for him anymore,” becomes the refrain, as if discussing a roommate rather than a life partner. The sexual dysfunction arrives not just as decreased libido but complete genital numbness, the physical capacity for intimate bonding chemically severed. But instead of recognizing this as drug-induced castration, it gets reframed: “I guess I was never really attracted to them.”

The empathy erosion is perhaps the most chilling. The person who once cried at commercials now watches their partner’s pain with scientific detachment. Children become logistical problems to solve. Love transforms into a word they remember but can’t feel. It’s not cruelty; it’s worse. It’s the presence of absence where humanity used to live.

The therapy industrial complex, thoroughly indoctrinated in the chemical imbalance mythology, validates every drug-distorted thought. Your couples therapist, who hasn’t bothered to research SSRIs beyond pharmaceutical marketing materials, encourages your drugged spouse to “trust their feelings” and “honor their truth,” never once considering that their feelings are chemically manufactured and their truth is pharmaceutical fiction.

Post SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD)

Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD) is the dirty secret of psychiatry that could bring down the entire house of cards if people truly understood its implications. We’re not talking about temporary side effects here. We’re talking about permanent sexual castration that persists, even after stopping the drugs.

But PSSD isn’t just about sex. It’s about the complete severing of the embodied experience of human connection. The neurochemical pathways that create sexual arousal are the same ones involved in emotional bonding, passionate engagement with life, and the felt sense of love itself. When SSRIs nuke these systems, they don’t just steal orgasms; they steal the capacity for embodied intimacy altogether.

And now we have hard scientific evidence for what these communities have been screaming into the void. A 2019 study published in Translational Psychiatry by Rütgen and colleagues finally confirmed what Big Pharma has desperately tried to suppress: SSRIs don’t improve empathy in depression; they systematically destroy it.

The researchers found that after just three months of antidepressant treatment, patients showed significant decreases in both emotional empathy and brain activity in regions crucial for empathic responding. The more their depression “improved,” the less they could feel others’ pain. They literally measured the chemical assassination of human compassion.

But here’s what nobody wants to admit: the pharmaceutical industry measures “improvement” in depression by how much less you feel. Can’t cry at your mother’s funeral? Success! Don’t feel devastated when your child is hurting? Treatment is working! Unable to empathize with your spouse’s pain? Congratulations, your depression is in remission! They’ve redefined mental health as emotional lobotomy and convinced us to celebrate our numbness as recovery.

Think about what this means for marriages: Your depressed spouse starts SSRIs, and within months they’re neurologically incapable of feeling your emotional pain. The researchers called this a “protective function,” but let’s call it what it really is: chemically-induced sociopathy. The study showed decreased connectivity between brain regions responsible for emotional and cognitive empathy. Translation: the drug literally disconnects the wiring that allows us to feel for each other.

The Anti-Human Agenda

Let’s call this what it is: an anti-human movement masquerading as mental health care. When you create drugs that systematically disable the neurochemical foundations of human bonding, empathy, and moral reasoning, you’re not treating illness; you’re engineering the dissolution of the social fabric itself.

But SSRIs are just one weapon in a much larger war against human flourishing. Look around: We’re poisoning masculinity as “toxic,” redefining female hormonal cycles as psychiatric disorders, and severing our children from nature itself, replacing dirt, sunlight, and real play with screens and synthetic environments. We’re feeding them processed poison disguised as food, then wondering why their bodies and minds rebel. We’re replacing human connection with digital interfaces, substituting virtual “friends” for real relationships, and celebrating isolation as “self-care.” Every institution that once fostered genuine human bonds (family, community, spiritual fellowship) is under systematic attack.

The gender confusion epidemic perfectly paralleling mass SSRI prescribing to adolescents? The explosion of young people who suddenly can’t recognize their own bodies, can’t connect to their biological reality? When you chemically sever a developing mind from its capacity to feel authentic connection to self and others, is it any wonder they become strangers in their own skin?

This anti-human agenda operates through multiple vectors: Seed oils inflaming our brains, endocrine disruptors scrambling our hormones, screens hijacking our attention, pornography replacing intimacy, and yes, psychiatric drugs severing our souls. Each element reinforces the others, creating a perfect storm of disconnection. The SSRIs ensure you won’t feel the horror of what’s being done to you. They’re the anesthesia for the operation that’s removing our humanity.

Every marriage destroyed by SSRI-induced apathy, every parent who stops feeling love for their children, every affair justified by chemically-induced emotional numbness: these aren’t unfortunate side effects. They’re features, not bugs, of a system designed to atomize human connection and create perpetual patients.

The online communities tracking this phenomenon aren’t conspiracy theorists or anti-medication extremists. They’re regular people sharing strikingly similar stories: My spouse started antidepressants and became someone else. They lost the ability to feel love. They rewrote our history. They destroyed our family with cold efficiency. And when they finally stopped the drugs (if they stopped) they woke up horrified at what they’d done.

One woman in these forums wrote something that haunts me: “The drug didn’t just steal my husband. It stole the person he was during our children’s most formative years. Even though he’s himself again now, off the drugs, our kids don’t know who he really is. They only know the emotionally absent stranger who lived in our house for three years.”

The Revolution We Need

The psychiatric establishment won’t save us from this; they created it. The therapists validating drug-distorted realities won’t help; they’re complicit. The only solution is brutal honesty about what these drugs actually do to human consciousness and connection.

If you’re on SSRIs and your marriage is falling apart, consider this: Maybe it’s not your marriage that’s broken. Maybe it’s your capacity to feel it.

If your partner started antidepressants and became a stranger, you’re not imagining it. You’re witnessing a chemically-induced personality transplant.

If you’re a therapist reading this and getting defensive, ask yourself: How many marriages have you helped validate into destruction because you couldn’t question the sacred cow of psychiatric medication?

We need to stop pretending that chemically altering the foundation of human emotion and connection is neutral. We need to stop acting like SSRIs are precision instruments when they’re actually neurochemical sledgehammers. We need to acknowledge that when you interfere with serotonin, you’re not just adjusting mood; you’re rewiring the capacity for love itself.

The families destroyed by SSRIs aren’t collateral damage; they’re casualties of an undeclared chemical war on human connection. And until we’re willing to name this war and fight back, the casualties will keep mounting, one numbed-out divorce at a time.

Your depression might be real. Your anxiety might be valid. Hell, in this toxic wasteland of a culture we’ve created, feeling depressed and anxious might be the only sane response. But look at how we’ve been programmed to address these legitimate feelings: Rush to the doctor. Get the diagnosis. Take the pill. Never once questioning whether numbing the pain is the same as healing it.

We’ve been brainwashed to believe that feeling less is the same as feeling better, that chemical numbness equals mental health. But is addressing your struggle this way worth sacrificing your capacity to love and be loved? Is it worth becoming a stranger to yourself and everyone who matters to you? Is a life without authentic emotional connection really better than a life with difficult emotions?

This more than a medical question. It’s a spiritual one. And the answer might just save your marriage and your soul.

New Chinese drones scramble naval power in Pacific, and maybe everywhere else

Inside China Business | August 17, 2025
Western naval doctrine relies heavily on the aircraft carrier battle group as the primary instrument of power projection. China’s military planners, however, developed a strategy that incorporates thousands of inexpensive, unmanned drone aircraft. China recently launched the first of many drone carriers, capable of carrying a hundred drones, including kamikaze drones. But a new breakthrough in VTOL (Vertical Take-Off-And-Landing) drones may make even the drone carrier concept obsolete. VTOL drones can be launched from any large warship, even in rough weather. Now, any Chinese warship can serve as an aircraft carrier, and control over vast areas of ocean are now possible. Perhaps even more ominous are recent developments in the Ukraine War. In Operation Spiderweb, Ukrainian operators used commercial trucks, driven by Russian drivers unawares, to deploy drones deep inside Russian territory. Possibly assisted by Western satellite imagery, Ukrainians then launched those drones in deadly offensive strikes, from civilian assets. That may open the door to new military applications for naval drones. Closing scene, Hukou Waterfall, Shanxi

India Cancels Offshore Wind Tender–Due To Lack Of Interest

By Paul Homewood | Not A Lot Of People Know That | August 13, 2025

Now India is losing interest in offshore wind.

Renewablesnow report:

The Indian government has cancelled the process to allocate sea-bed lease rights for a total of 4,500 MW of offshore wind projects, it was announced on Tuesday.

While SECI itself did not state a reason for the decision in its announcement, The Economic Times quoted two sources as saying that there was a lack of interest among project developers. …

This follows Trump’s US move away from offshore wind and the lack of bidders at Germany’s offshore auction last week.

Meanwhile Orsted have had to launch a massive $9.4 billion Share Rights Issue, largely because of huge losses on offshore wind projects.

It seems that it is only the UK where anybody wants to build wind farms at sea, but only because of the obscene subsidies on offer.

American Nun: Hamas is a resistance movement, and Christians suffer under occupation

Palestinian Information Center – August 17, 2025

WEST BANK – An American nun said that Israeli policies have made the lives of both Palestinian Christians and Muslims “extremely difficult,” due to restrictions on movement, land confiscation, and settlement construction. She also stressed that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is a resistance movement that defends its people and land.

Mother Agapia Stephanopoulos, who has lived since 1996 in the Palestinian town of Bethany in the occupied West Bank, appeared in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson on a popular US television program, sparking wide controversy after she spoke about her two-decade-long experience in the occupied Palestinian territories.

She affirmed that Christians there face suffering similar to that experienced by Muslims under Israeli occupation.

She added that the number of Palestinian Christians has significantly declined since the Nakba in 1948 due to restrictions and displacement, emphasizing that “the problem is not religious but national,” as Christians face the same discrimination because of their Palestinian identity.

The nun criticized what she described as the “blind support” of some Christian Zionists in the United States for Israel, saying they ignore the suffering of Palestinian Christians and justify settlement expansion and land confiscation.

Mother Agapia Stephanopoulos also pointed out that churches and Christian institutions in the West Bank and Gaza have been bombed and destroyed, considering this part of a systematic targeting of Palestinians.

She explained that Palestinian Christians live in natural cohesion with Muslims, citing the example of Christian schools in Bethlehem and Jerusalem where the majority of students are Muslims, stressing that coexistence is the prevailing feature of Palestinian society.

The interview, titled “This is How Christians Live in the Holy Land,” received over 12 million views and was considered one of the most prominent episodes shedding light on the conditions of both Palestinian Christians and Muslims under occupation, and the violence and restrictions they face from settlers and Israeli authorities.

Israel excluded from upcoming Bari trade fair in Italy

MEMO | August 17, 2025

Organizers of the upcoming Fiera del Levante, an annual international trade exhibition scheduled to take place in Italy’s Bari city from Sept. 13 to 21, have decided not to invite Israel due to concerns raised by the city mayor about the Gaza situation, local media reported on Sunday, Anadolu reports.

According to Italian news agency ANSA, the fair’s organizing body confirmed the decision, following an appeal by Bari Mayor Vito Leccese, who on July 1 had called “not to let Israel participate in the fair activities within the Bari exhibition district, both institutional and economic.”

“For a commonality of ethical and political views, the Nuova Fiera del Levante has from the outset expressed a clear distancing from the atrocities of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people and has supported, becoming its promoter, the initiative to propose the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to the children of Gaza,” the fair organizer body said in a statement.

The note explained that the initiative, launched by the Latiano-based foundation L’isola che non c’e, seeks to nominate children in Gaza for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.

The fair described the proposal as “a moral appeal to the international community to recognize the right to peace and life for every child, everywhere in the world.”

Israeli daily reveals Mossad-MKO collaboration during aggression against Iran

Press TV – August 17, 2025

An Israeli newspaper has revealed collaboration between the Mossad spy agency and the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) terrorist cult during the recent illegal aggression against Iran.

In a blog in Times of Israel, US-based freelance journalist Julian Rennell said the Mossad-MKO collaboration, which dates back to at least 2002, reached “new levels of sophistication” over the course of the 12-day Israeli-US assault against Iran.

The MKO’s “operational elements” had established “team houses in Tehran, where they built launchers and handheld mortars” and conducted “propaganda and information-gathering activities” in support of Israeli objectives, he said.

The notorious terror group provided targeting data for high-value assassinations in Iran and “precise coordinates” of critical infrastructure during the June’s aggression.

Rennell also quoted US officials as saying that the MKO has been “financed, trained and armed by Israel’s secret service” to assassinate Iranian nuclear scientists.

He further cited Tehran’s Criminal Court as documenting how MKO operatives coordinated with Israeli intelligence by gathering data on traffic flow near Kermanshah’s Farabi Hospital and passing it to the Tel Aviv regime for a deadly strike.

Meanwhile, he referred to remarks by an Iranian judge, who confirmed “active cooperation” between MKO terrorists and Israeli operatives, particularly in identifying and targeting Iranian nuclear scientists.

Rennell urged Israel to “formalize” its relationship with the MKO and move beyond covert cooperation to strategic partnership regardless of significant backlash, both among Iranians and internationally.

The MKO – the most despised group among ordinary Iranians – has a dismal history of perpetrating heinous attacks against Iranian civilians and officials, killing around 12,000 people since the victory of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.

MKO members spent many years in Iraq, where they were hosted and armed by the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. They sided with Saddam during the 1980-88 imposed war against Iran.

MKO terrorists, who are now based in Albania, enjoy freedom of activity in the US and Europe.

A top Iranian criminal court has held 36 hearings on crimes of MKO members. It will hold more trial sessions for the case.

Trump-Zelensky Talks: Europe’s Backdoor Play for Arms Industry’s Interests?

Sputnik – 17.08.2025

The German government announced on Sunday that Chancellor Friedrich Merz will travel to Washington, joining Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders for talks with US President Donald Trump.

Volodymyr Zelensky is flying to Washington to meet Donald Trump mainly to negotiate the possibility of retaining power, Polish political analyst Mateusz Piskorski told Sputnik.

During his upcoming talks with Trump, Zelensky wants to obtain potential personal security guarantees and to preserve his ability to continue ruling Ukraine for some time, Piskorski pointed out.

“If a full-fledged peace agreement on Ukraine is clinched, Zelensky will most likely be forced to organize elections, in which he has no real chance of winning,” the analyst emphasized.

He suggested that Zelensky will behave more cautiously than he did during his last meeting with Trump at the White House in late February.

European leaders who will reportedly accompany Zelensky, including Macron and Scholz, as well as NATO chief Rutte, will call for continuation of the Ukraine conflict as their interests are linked to the defense-industrial complex of France, Germany, and the UK, according to Piskorski.

In Germany, right after the announcement of the Putin-Trump summit in Alaska, the stock market and value of major German companies like Rheinmetall dropped by several percent — reportedly as much as 10%, the analyst concluded.

The Delicate Exit

By William Schryver – imetatronink – August 16, 2025

My coalescing sense of the underwhelming Alaska Chats is that Russia has not materially varied from its longstanding terms.

Trump rolled into town with his “stealth” flyover, imagining he was the one giving an audience to Putin.

From start to finish it was perfectly evident to any discerning observer that it was just the opposite, and that Putin was there to repeat and to emphasize Russia’s apparently inviolable terms.

As I understand it, the Russians have said they will implement a conditional temporary ceasefire in the south while NATO/AFU forces withdraw from Donetsk.

No one has said anything about ending the Special Military Operation, nor of the disposition of territories.

In essence, the Russians are saying:

“We’ll temporarily stop destroying you on the southern part of the line of contact while you retreat from the northern part, and then we’ll demand you also withdraw from the southern part, and lay down your arms.”

I cannot understand how so many people seem to doubt the resolve of the Russians to continue fighting western forces for years to come pursuant to their clearly enunciated objectives.

In each successive year of this war, Russian strength has augmented across the spectrum. Russia is not only outproducing the combined west by several multiples, but their military hardware is now indisputably superior in most key categories.

The only exit route for the US/NATO is capitulation, which in this instance entails withdrawing NATO military presence to the 1997 borders, as stipulated in the NATO-Russia Founding Act of 1997.

How they opt to frame that capitulation is up to them.

As I noted in my February 2024 analysis of the Tucker Carlson interview of Vladimir Putin:

Tucker Carlson: Do you think it is too humiliating at this point for NATO to accept Russian control of what was two years ago Ukrainian territory?

Vladimir Putin: I said let them think how to do it with dignity. There are options if there is a will.

Up until now there has been the uproar and screaming about inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield. Now they are apparently coming to realize that it is difficult to achieve, if possible at all. In my opinion, it is impossible by definition. It is never going to happen.

It seems to me that now those who are in power in the West have come to realize this as well. If so, if the realization has set in, they have to think what to do next. We are ready for this dialogue.

That both Tucker Carlson and others have failed to correctly interpret Putin’s words is incomprehensible to me. So permit me to paraphrase them in language that is perhaps more understandable to the dimwitted and disingenuous people in the west who continue to misrepresent them:

“We offered them an early out, and they rejected it in favor of an appeal to arms in order to inflict what they imagined would be a severe strategic defeat against Russia on the field of battle. But their reach greatly exceeded their grasp. They cannot defeat us. Now let them seek a delicate exit from the mess they’ve gotten themselves into — but we will achieve our objectives.”

No matter how the would-be masters of empire try to spin defeat into victory, most everyone around the world will still know the score. And it is this disabused illusion of imperial military supremacy that will rapidly accelerate its inexorable decline.

‘No relaxation haven for murderers’: Israeli cruise ship triggers pro-Palestine protests in Greece

Press TV – August 16, 2025

An Israeli cruise ship touring the Greek islands has faced repeated protests, culminating in nationwide demonstrations, as activists would denounce the Israeli regime’s war of genocide on the Gaza Strip and oppose provocative behavior by Israeli tourists.

The Crown Iris, making regular trips from the occupied port of Haifa to Athens and the Greek islands, has been met with protests at nearly every stop this summer, Drop Site News, an American investigative outlet, reported on Friday.

The 10-deck vessel, with a capacity of 2,000 passengers, includes a casino, a theater, a waterslide, and a basketball court.

Since late July, protests have targeted its route, with demonstrators waving Palestinian flags, lighting flares, and in some cases attempting to block its docking.

On July 22, more than 300 protesters confronted the ship on the island of Syros, leading to most passengers staying onboard.

Throughout the vessel’s tour around Greece, activists and organizers pointed to growing frustration over “a recurring pattern of Israeli tourist provocations,” sometimes involving off-duty Israeli forces, the website reported.

Locals and activists cited acts of incitement by the tourists, who would gloat over the Israeli regime’s genocidal aggression against Palestinians and its decades-old occupation of Palestinian territories.

Those actions included “tearing down pro-Palestinian posters in streets and shops or verbally and physically harassing people wearing keffiyehs (Palestinian headscarves) or pro-Palestine T-Shirts,” the report said.

‘We can’t have Greece become Israeli forces’ playground’

“What kind of simple, innocent tourist keeps” the Israeli regime’s flag “handy while traveling?” asked Petros, a 30-year-old construction worker.

“We can’t have Greece become a playground for IDF (Israeli military) soldiers… It’s also a matter of dignity,” he added.

Subsequent stops saw escalating confrontations.

On July 28 on the Rodos Island, the police arrested at least eight protesters. The following day in Agios Nikolaos, Crete, demonstrators broke police barricades, unfurled a massive Palestinian flag, and clashed with riot police, who used tear gas against them.

These actions formed part of broader mobilizations culminating on August 10, when organizers said tens of thousands demonstrated in more than 120 locations across Greece in one of the largest pro-Palestinian mobilizations in the country’s history.

March to Gaza, Greece – a pro-Palestinian body – initiated the call, declaring, “As millions of tourists flood the country, let’s make our presence visible and loud. Let’s turn islands, beaches, alleys, mountaintops, and shelters into places of solidarity, not relaxation for murdering IDF soldiers.”

Paris Laftsis, a 33-year-old member of the coordination team, said the turnout “exceeded the most optimistic expectations” and included both the largest demonstrations in decades and entirely new initiatives.

The protests were supported by such pro-Palestinian organizations as BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) Greece and the Palestinian Community in Greece as well as dozens of local groups.

UK to prosecute over 60 people for backing Palestine Action after mass arrests

The Cradle | August 16, 2025

London’s Metropolitan Police announced on 15 August that over 60 people will face prosecution for “showing support” for the banned Palestine Action network, alongside three already charged under the Terrorism Act.

The police confirmed they had “put arrangements in place that will enable us to investigate and prosecute significant numbers each week if necessary,” following more than 700 arrests since the designation took effect in early July.

Among them were 522 demonstrators detained in London last weekend for carrying placards backing the group, a figure described as the highest ever number of arrests at a single protest in the capital.

Director of Public Prosecutions Stephen Parkinson said the charges represent “the first significant numbers to come out of the recent protests, and many more can be expected in the next few weeks.”

He warned that “people should be clear about the real-life consequences for anyone choosing to support Palestine Action.”

The police said those convicted could face up to six months in prison and additional penalties.

British Interior Minister Yvette Cooper defended the Labour government’s decision, declaring that “UK national security and public safety must always be our top priority,” and insisting that “the assessments are very clear – this is not a non-violent organisation.”

Metropolis Police Commissioner Mark Rowley praised the prosecutions as proof that “our police and CPS teams have worked so speedily together to overcome misguided attempts to overwhelm the justice system.”

Palestine Action is a British pro-Palestinian direct action network, established in July 2020, with the stated aim of ending Israeli apartheid.

The movement is known for its overt and disruptive – yet non-violent – actions in their mission for ending Israeli apartheid and halting UK complicity in the arms trade with Israel.

This includes occupying, vandalizing, and destroying properties linked to Israeli arms trade, such as Elbit Systems factories and RAF Brize Norton military infrastructure.

On 20 June, one activist broke into the Royal Air Force (RAF) Brize Norton base in Oxfordshire.

In response to these direct actions, the group was branded a terrorist organization on 5 July under the Terrorism Act 2000 by the UK government, making membership to the group a criminal offence.

Various groups and individuals described the move as “grotesque,” “chilling,” and an “unprecedented legal overreach.”

UN experts had urged the UK not to go through with the ban, saying, “According to international standards, acts of protest that damage property, but are not intended to kill or injure people, should not be treated as terrorism.”

The experts added that the actions of vandalism committed by some protesters should be “properly investigated as ordinary crimes or other security offences” and stressed that the actions of protesters do not constitute terrorism when properly defined.
