Iran responds to US claims of drone shipments to Russia

Tehran will not help either side in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has said in response to White House claims the Islamic Republic was planning to deliver “hundreds of drones” to Russia.
“We have different kinds of cooperation with Russia, including in the defense sector. But we are not going to help either side in this conflict because we believe that it has to be stopped,” Amir-Abdollahian told Italian newspaper la Repubblica on Wednesday.
“The current problem with the conflict is that some Western countries, including the United States, have arms manufacturers who are trying to sell their products,” he said, adding that Tehran “will avoid any action that could lead to escalation” but we will work to stop the conflict.
On Monday, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters that Iran was “preparing to provide Russia with up to several hundred UAVs,” including combat drones.
Many Western countries, including the US, are supplying Kiev with heavy weaponry, such as missile launchers, armored vehicles and combat drones. Moscow insists that “flooding” Ukraine with weapons will only exacerbate the conflict.
Meanwhile Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to Tehran on July 19 and meet with his counterparts Ebrahim Raisi of Iran and Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, according to the Kremlin.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that Putin will not discuss possible drone supply during his trip to Tehran.

August 10th: Remembering a Day of Tragedy for the People of Vietnam

On this day, August 10, 1961, the United States began chemical warfare in Vietnam War, having sprayed 77 million liters of defoliants over South Vietnam by the end of 1971. Of that amount, 44 million liters contained dioxin, which causes various diseases and genetic mutations in humans and other living beings exposed to it.
Some three million Vietnamese were affected by direct contact with dioxin in that decade.
14% of the territory of South Vietnam was exposed to this toxin, causing severe consequences for the land and nature. Five thousand square kilometers of mangrove forests were almost completely destroyed; about 10,000 square kilometers of jungle and more than a thousand square kilometers of lowland forests were affected. American troops destroyed 70% of the coconut plantations and 60% of the Gewea plantations; they also changed the ecological balance of Vietnam.
The affected areas lost 18 out of 150 bird species; nearly all amphibians and insects disappeared; the number of fish in rivers decreased, and their composition changed. The microbiological composition of soils was disturbed. Changes in the fauna resulted in the replacement of black rats, which are safe for humans, with other species that were plague carriers. Alterations in the mosquito species composition led to the introduction of malaria-carrying ones. Dioxin: A Permanently Exploding Bomb The large-scale US use of chemical warfare in Vietnam lasted until late 1971. But this war was not over for Vietnam itself, said Professor Andrei Kuznetsov, director general of the Russian Division of the Joint Russo-Vietnamese Research and Technology Tropical Center, in an interview with Sputnik. … continue

In the words of Famous British Prostitute Mandy Rice-Davies, “well, he would say that wouldn’t he”?
I’ll bet “Jake” Sullivan is just another one of those “Neo-Cons” who infest the upper reaches of the American Government(and completely dominate “American” decision making), at the highest level. Iran, on the other hand, appears to be conducting itself with Human Decency(a quality unknown within the USA Government).

Brian, I note your “Jake” WRT Sullivan. Do you know/read Ray McGovern? I read a commentary by him just yesterday (provided by my most prolific e-mail blogger) in which Ray identified Sullivan as “Jacob Jeremiah Sullivan.” ‘nuf written.

Sorry, I’m not familiar with Ray McGovern. No other country on Earth(that I am aware of) allows “Dual Passport holders” to totally dominate its government. NO ONE can be LOYAL to two countries(and Bleed America Dry) in the process.
As far as I can tell(from the other side of the Planet) the American National debt of $30 TRILLION+, isn’t even a topic of conversation??? I would have thought it was “Important” to address how it will be “dealt with”…..WTF?
