Nord Stream explosions are a ‘tremendous opportunity’ – US

Samizdat | October 1, 2022

The US views the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines as a “tremendous opportunity” to wean the continent off of Russian energy, Secretary of State Antony Blinken told reporters on Friday. With winter approaching, Blinken said that the US wants Europe to decrease its fuel use.

Speaking to reporters in Washington, Blinken boasted that the US is now “the leading supplier of [liquefied natural gas] to Europe.” In addition to shipping its own fuel to Europe, Blinken said that the US is working with European leaders to find ways to “decrease demand” and “speed up the transition to renewables.”

“It’s a tremendous opportunity to once and for all remove the dependence on Russian energy and thus to take away from [Russian President] Vladimir Putin the weaponization of energy as a means of advancing his imperial designs,” Blinken declared.

The US likely stands to gain the most from the destruction of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, which were damaged by a series of explosions off the Danish island of Bornholm earlier this week. Washington has for years been trying to convince European leaders to swap Russian gas for its LNG, and the severity of the damage to the undersea conduits now means that Europe is “indefinitely deprived” of Russian gas via this route, Russian energy operator Gazprom stated on Friday.

In a speech on Friday, President Vladimir Putin blamed the explosions on “the Anglo-Saxons,” a Russian colloquialism for the US-UK transatlantic alliance.

“It’s obvious to everyone who benefits from it,” Putin explained. “Those who benefit are the ones who have done it.”

While the way is now open for the US to sell its more expensive LNG to Europe, the shortfall cannot be covered overnight. US exporters warned throughout the summer that they will not be able to ship enough gas to meet demand on the continent, and many of Europe’s import terminals are still under construction or in planning.

Meanwhile, energy bills are skyrocketing across Europe. In Germany, which faces the prospect of rapid “deindustrialization,” protesters took to the streets to demand the re-opening of Nord Stream 2, just days before the explosions. Food shortages have been predicted in Germany and firewood is in hot demand across the continent as citizens struggle to heat their homes.

“There’s a lot of hard work to do to make sure that countries and partners get through the winter,” Blinken said, suggesting, as EU leaders have also done, that Europe work to “reduce demand” for gas.

  1. What has Israel been doing with their German-made Dolphin-class (stealth) submarines?

  2. Did Blinken just echo Netanyahu’s statement about how good for Israel was the (or their) attack on the World Trade Center? Or Ehud Barak’s talk on the morning of the attack as to who did it. According to their script, their continuous boilerplate hasbara. The same Ehud Barak, photographed lurking at the doorway to Epstein’s New York mansion. What was Barak doing there? Answer: supplying Epstein and his pedophiles with Israeli money to gather up more hapless, naive children to serve Epstein and his blackmail operation, another spy operation by the worst ‘ally’ America could possibly have.

Blinken: in the employ of Israel. American’s Secretary of State? No. An operative for Israel. Same as Joe “I’m a Zionist” Biden. A Shabbos Goy if there ever was a Shabbos Goy, and he’s the President! What betrayal.

In response to the first comment, Israel is building its navy, in order to further solidify its control and theft of the resources off the coast, to make sure Lebanon will be pushed aside. The “Popeye” missile of the submarine has already been used and will be used for future ‘false flag’ operations, incidentally. The Israeli company, Genie Oil and Gas, on which Dick Cheney is a board member, is hot to develop and begin to make available the oil and gas from it. How Israel is looking forward to bringing this to the European market. Much the same as the control and theft of the resources in the Golan Heights, a theft from its neighbor since the conquest of one of the many wars upon its neighbors. And, as to Palestinians of the Gaza Strip Prison being able to make any claim, ask their repeatedly embattled fishermen, harassed, shot and murdered by “the most moral army in the world”. How the Zionists and their partisans are able to use language and propaganda to try to legalize the Zionist state is a model of how lies and deception seem to work, to work on the feeble minded, the cowardly, the exerted mind control of the jewish influence in publishing in the main stream media.

Israel is not an ally to America. It is the opposite.

  3. Good posting. Title reminds me of Zionist bas*ard Netanyahu immediately post-9/11…”it’s a very good thing….”

No coincidence, methinks, that Blinkin’ Blinken is Zionist/Jewish…the bas*ards are everywhere, administering their poison–and getting away with their arrogance, their criminality, scot free.

President “(Putin) advancing his imperial designs…”!!! Say blinken’ WHAAAT?! Sh…….t!

  4. The benefit to the US is/or could be astronomical as Europe depends on Russia for it’s fuel resources and minus the pipeline, the US can now enter as the primary EU provider of fuel making the US rich by forcing European dependence on oil essentially stealing business from Russia.

  5. Maybe US natural gas companies will sell US natural gas to Europe and cause the price of natural gas in the USA to rise?

    • They most definately would if they could. Export terminals are maxxed out and construction time is quite long.

Our only hope here is that new production is in place before terminals get built but Wall Streets ESG policies preclude oil and gas development.
