Refaat Al-Areer Was The Canary In The Coal Mine In Israel’s War On The Truth

Three years ago today, Refaat Al-Areer, the well-respected Palestinian academic, poet, and commentator, was murdered, along with multiple members of his family, for telling the truth about Israel’s genocide in Gaza and atrocity propaganda used to manufacture consent for it.
The Zionists wanted Al-Areer silenced because he was one of the first media figures to expose the now well-documented fact that Israel issued the Hannibal Directive on October 7th and killed its own people, and because he was debunking Israeli atrocity propaganda used to justify the Gaza genocide, such as the mass rape hoax.
The Zionist propagandist Bari Weiss put a target on Al-Areer, taking a joke he made about the claim of Hamas “baking a baby in an oven”- a proven hoax– out of context to make it look like he supported it, when in reality he was mocking how absurd the hoax claim was.
Because of this smear campaign, Al-Areer was labeled as an “Amalekite” by IDF terrorists and murdered in a targeted strike “along with his brother Salah and one of his children (Mohammed); his sister Asmaa and three of her children (Alaa, Yahia, and Mohammed); and a neighbor.”
Later, his “daughter, grandson and son-in-law” were murdered in another targeted Israeli strike.
This was not an isolated incident; Refaat Al-Areer served as the canary in the coal mine for Israel’s ensuing war on the truth.
Following the targeted murder of Refaat Al-Areer, Israel murdered hundreds of Palestinian journalists, including high-profile ones including Anas Al Sharif, Hossam Shabat, and Ismail al-Ghoul.
Like in Al-Areer’s case, these targeted IDF murders often included targeting of journalists’ family members.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate documented that “the targeting of journalists’ families has become a systematic and repeated pattern during 2023, 2024 and 2025, killing about 706” family members “of journalists in the Gaza Strip” adding that “The effects of these crimes are not limited to human losses, but extend to deep psychological traumas among journalists who lost their children, wives or parents, the disintegration of families and the loss of a sense of security, the forcing of journalists to flee or temporarily stop working, the journalist with a harsh sense of guilt, within the framework of an organized psychological war, and the Freedoms Committee confirms that this psychological dimension is an integral part of the system of repression”.
These Israeli murders were not confined to only Gaza.
Israel targeted and killed multiple journalists exposing its ethnic cleansing campaign in South Lebanon, including the well-known reporter Amal Khalil, as well as attempting and failing to kill the British reporter, Steve Sweeney.
Israel also committed the largest single documented murder of journalists in recent history in Yemen, killing over 30 journalists and media workers after targeting the Sanaa-based newspapers Al-Yaman and 26 September.
And Israel’s war on the truth has extended past the direct targets of its genocidal wars.
Israel’s lobby has done everything it can to destroy freedom of speech in its Western sponsor countries, to ensure arms and funding will continue to flow to Israel.
This includes having an endless list of Israel-critical journalists and activists being arrested in the UK over bogus terrorism charges, as well as having the non-violent direct action group Palestine Action proscribed as a terrorist organization in league with ISIS.
It also includes having the U.S. sanction Francesca Albanese, the UN’s special rapporteur for Palestine, for her factual report exposing the Gaza genocide, and trying to deport legal residents who protested against Israel’s genocide.
Refaat Al-Areer was murdered for telling the truth about Israel and its genocidal propaganda, and was one of the first victims in Israel’s wide-scale war on the truth.

Trans agenda is ‘normalization of sadism’ – US author

The US Democratic Party has embraced a transgender agenda that amounts to “the normalization of sadism,” author A.J. Rice has said, warning that radical trans policies would return if the party is allowed to regain power.
Speaking to RT’s America First host Scotty Nell Hughes about his new book, ‘The Curse of the Bearded Lady: How the Trans Mafia Whacked American Sanity’, Rice argued that activists have gained significant influence in schools, medicine, and corporate America while people who questioned the agenda have faced pressure to stay silent.
The author described the “trans mafia” as the sprawling network of people and institutions that have helped the movement gain influence. He singled out parts of academia, wealthy backers, and corporations, and stated that providers of transition-related treatment also have a financial incentive to keep young people in their care indefinitely.
Rice argued that the consequences of these policies ultimately fall on children who are being drawn toward gender-affirming medical treatments and on girls who are expected to share locker rooms or compete in sports with biological males.
He noted that while voters rejected the Democrats’ approach to gender in 2024, the party, which has been “captured by madness,” has since only doubled down and is seeking what is effectively “the normalization of sadism.” … Full report
